LYONSDALE, N.Y. (WKTV) - The Lewis County Sheriff's Department has charged Brandon Hoffert, 28, of Port Leyden with sex abuse and several other charges stemming from an incident that allegedly happened on May 26th.
They say Hoffert broke into a woman's Lyonsdale home around 3:30 in the morning, woke the woman up, attempted to strangle her, then held her down on the floor while he subjected her to unwanted sexual conduct.
Deputies say Hoffert disabled the woman's cell phone when he left so she was unable to call police.
He's charged with unlawful imprisonment, sex abuse, criminal mischief, burglary, and criminal obstruction of breathing.
He's being held at the Lewis County Jail on $10,000 bail.
