True Blood

    I'm looking forward to this!

    http://www.hbo.com/trueblood/

I'm still mourning the lost of six feet under.

Yah, I watched it. I was pleasantly surprised.

    I typically don't like vampire films/shows.

This one seems to have the right amount of drama, irony, and humor without being over the top.

I really like Anna Paquin. and J, if you have HBO I'm sure it'll be "on demand" so you could watch the first one..

    Re: True Blood

Has anybody read the books that this show is based on? I LOVE those books!

I wish I could watch the show. We don't have HBO, or the "On Demand" option with our cable. Will see if I can find on Youtube.

Man I thought the dialog in this blew donkey dick and it's sad day when the best southern accent comes from an actress who isn't even American. I'm so sick of this Twighlight sexy vampire shit.

    Re: True Blood

I think I'm really hampered by having read the books. I didn't like the show at all. Mostly I really disagreed with the choice of actors. I like Anna Paquin, but I don't think she makes a good Sookie Stackhouse.

There's something very stilted and awkward about the show. I think I'll watch another episode to see if it improves, but if not, I'm giving up on it.

And thanks again to the Good Samaritan who showed me where to find the episodes online. :-)

First episode is sort of stupid. But it gets better right? :2huh:

First episode sucks. It gets way better. I am currently fighting about this with my two british friends ho obey my recommendations, who thought the first episode was actually the best. They're crazy.

I have watched all the episodes so far, 4 I think. Maybe 5. Anyway, obviously I like it, but I kind of wish the human characters weren't quite so lame.

As the series has gone on, it has kinda grown on me, but I agree that there is something missing from the show. This past week's episode focused far too much on Jason's "problem" and not nearly enough on the driving mechanism for the story. I like Anna Paquin, but I agree, she's not a good Sookie. She's too awkward and "like me, like me, like me!" And since I've read the books, it kinda annoys me that Tara is so prominently figuring in this early in the series.

But the guy playing Jason is great casting. I like Bill and Sam. And Eric is yummy, even if he's way too much in the Lestat mold.

I spent the first two episodes wondering where I'd seen the guy playing Jason before. It was driving me mad until I googled him and realised that he's an Aussie and used to be in Home and Away

I liked what I saw so far. I got to watch the first 4 episodes in like 2 days while there in the states. so now I'm forced to try and find some illegal way to watch it

I missed the last one. Someone said whats his name drank Vampire Blood and had to have his dick drained of blood from severe hard on?
