Jessica Heeringa, 25, missing from Muskegon, Michigan

This girl is missing from my hometown. It's all over my FB. Doesn't look promising.

The Norton Shores Police Department is investigating a missing person which occurred in late evening hours of April 26, 2013 at the Exxon Mobil gas station located at 1196 E. Sternberg Rd.

At approximately 11:15 pm NSPD officers were dispatched to the gas station on a suspicious activity report. Customers called 911 after entering the store to find no employees present. The employee scheduled to be working, Jessica Heeringa, was not able to be located.

Contact has been made with friends and family of 25 year old Jessica Heeringa but as of April 27, 2013 at 2:00 pm Jessica has not been located.

Jessica is described as a white female, 25 years old, 5?1 tall, approximately 110 lbs., blond shoulder length hair, and blue eyes. Jessica is also known to wear wired rim glasses. She may be wearing a blue collared shirt saying ?Sternberg Exxon?.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity near the Exxon Mobil gas station is asked to contact Silent Observer at 231-72-CRIME (231-722-7463) or call 911.

    UPDATE:

Based on evidence processed from the scene and various tips that have been received, this case is now being reclassified as an abduction.

It appears that Jessica Heeringa was preparing to close the store when this incident occurred. Her purse and other belongings were found undisturbed. In addition, the store?s cash drawer was found out and no money was missing.

Investigators are currently searching for a silver minivan, possibly a Chrysler Town and Country, that was seen in the area of the Exxon station prior to Jessica?s disappearance.

The driver is described as a white male, approximately 30-40 years old, approximately 6? tall, medium to heavy build, broad shoulders, light brown or sandy blond wavy hair parted in the middle and slightly longer on top, wearing a bright red or orange sweatshirt.

A task force consisting of investigators from the Norton Shores Police Department, Michigan State Police, Muskegon County Sheriff?s Department, Muskegon Police Department and the Muskegon County Prosecutors Office have been investigating numerous tips that have been received. At this time, four persons of interest have been interviewed and cleared of any connection in the abduction of Jessica.

Jessica Heeringa abduction case: Grandparents 'disheartened' as 100th day since disappearance nears

(Aug. 1, 2013) MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI -- For the grandparents of Jessica Heeringa, the nearly 100 days their granddaughter, whom they affectionately call their "little pixie girl," has been gone feels like 100 years.

Sunday, Aug. 4, will mark the 100th day that the 25-year-old gas station clerk from Muskegon disappeared, allegedly abducted while finishing her night shift.

A suspect or suspects have not been identified and authorities have said they have very little to go on in terms of solving the case. A police official whose department is heading the case described the investigation as becoming "frustrating."

Heeringa has appeared to disappear without a trace ? leaving behind at the gas station her purse, her vehicle, other forms of identification and money from a recently cashed paycheck.

"We're rather discouraged and disheartened," said Heeringa's grandmother, Diane Homrich, of Grand Rapids. "No one trains you on how to handle this and where to go and what to do. Never in my wildest dream did we think this would happen. This always happens to other families."

Heeringa, who is 26 now, disappeared on April 26 while working at the Exxon gas station on Sternberg Road in Norton Shores. Heeringa was working as a gas station clerk when a customer reported that she was missing around 11 that night.

The Homriches ? Diane and Heeringa?s grandfather, Roman -- have made trips to the Muskegon area to help support Heering's fiance, Dakotah Quail-Dyer, of Muskegon, who is caring for the couple's young son with the help of Quail-Dyer's parents.

Family and friends of Heeringa, and community members, have been meeting at the Pointes Shopping Center, adjacent to the Exxon station, on the weekends to bring awareness to her disappearance, sell T-shirts with Heeringa?s photo on them and hand out fliers.

"A few people still come by and I don?t want to lose touch with the community," Diane Homrich said, adding that the Muskegon community has been "?supportive" from the beginning.

"Those of us in the family, and I think in the community, still feel that she's alive and out in that area," she said.

Heeringa' family has maintained that the woman would never voluntarily leave on her own and abandon her son, Zevyn.

"He's 3 1/2 and of course he doesn't fully understand what?s going on. He loves Spiderman and he can stay focused on that for a while, but the hard part of the day is when he goes to bed and mom isn't there to sing him his lullabies," she said.

Heeringa's disappearance has Homrich more aware of other missing persons in the nation. Since her granddaughter disappeared, Homrich said she is more sympathetic about other families going through the same thing.

"Now when I see a missing child poster, I pay attention, I watch," she said. "When I'm in a restaurant, I look around. Before it didn't faze me, I didn't even look at a missing person poster before."

    Investigators press on

The case hasn?t yet gone cold, but it has become a "frustrating" investigation with very few solid leads and more questions than answers, said Norton Shores Police Chief Dan Shaw.

"We have a lot of pieces to the puzzle already, based on just the first few days. We do have different theories of who may be involved, but we don't have anything concrete to connect people to this case. It will take just the right piece of information to make that happen," Shaw said.

Shaw said there isn't any piece of evidence to suggest Heeringa isn't alive, but then again "we have nothing to say she is."

Police have not publicly identified a suspect in the case.

However, that's not to say there aren't individuals who police are keeping an eye on, Shaw said.

"There was no one taken into custody," he said. "But we are still watching more than one (person). We follow evidence, we don't go based on hunch. We have theories and all sorts of ideas."

NORTON SHORES, MI -- Jeffrey Willis has been upgraded to a "person of interest" in the disappearance of Jessica Heeringa three years ago, according to Norton Shores Police.

Police Chief Jon Gale issued a press release Monday afternoon that says the department is working with county, state and federal officials on the case.

"Investigators have been working around the clock and have now upgraded Willis as a person of interest in the this case," Gale said in the statement. "Investigators are interviewing known associates of Willis trying to determine the connections to Jessica."

Willis, 46, was arrested last week in connection with the kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl, who escaped her captor shortly after she got into his silver minivan, police have said.

Okay watched it last night... I'm sus on the manager (or owner I forgot which ones saw the van right now). If you think a place was robbed, that you are in charge of, pull around to sus the van out, then see the van leave.. wouldn't you go and check on the place itself?

I know this new evidence may actually back her story up, but it also may not. Keen to see what comes of new dude.

I don't know if it has been mentioned, but he is also connected to the 2014 murder of Rebekah Bletsch...who was shot multiple times while jogging around 6pm. Link here.

Terrifying to think how many other women he is linked to.
    RIP to all the victims.

Yes, Bewitchingstorm. I live just a few cities over and remember when Jessica went missing. I'm thinking we have a serial killer on our hands... The siringes filled with a clear liquid, the photos of girls tied up, rope, gun, etc.
Thank god he has been caught.

What kind of sick, perverted motherfucker does some shit like that? Never mind, I already know.

Please, someone abuse this piece of shit before killing him. Better idea, tie this asshole to the top of a tall tree with a long, conductive metal pole in his pants and wait for a thunderstorm. This human trash needs to be burned, not just taken to the curb.

Guess I should have read more into this guy. I'm from GR and all my friend on fb have been posting about this but never really read any article other than the possible van connection.

On the Disappeared episode they were convinced it was someone else they just couldn't find proof....which is probably why I figured this guy was nothing.

Homemade child porn charges add to case against Jeffrey Willis
Jeffrey Willis could spend life in prison for 2014 murder, April kidnapping

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) ? While kidnapping and murder charges threaten to put Jeffrey Willis behind bars for the rest of his life, disturbing images of children found ? and made ? at his home could put him in prison for as long as four decades.

With all the charges he faces, Muskegon County prosecutors feel good about their case.

?The likelihood of this gentleman going to prison is high, in my opinion,? Muskegon County Prosecutor D.J. Hilson said during Willis?s arraignment on the kidnapping charges last week.

An undated courtesy photo of the scrapes that a 16-year-old girl sustained when she jumped from a moving minivan to escape an alleged attempted kidnapper.
Authorities arrested Willis on May 17 for the alleged attempted kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl along a rural county road in April. She managed to escape and wasn?t seriously hurt.

The investigation led police to Willis? home in the 1800 block of South Sheridan Road in Muskegon Township. It was there that police say Willis hid a camera in his bathroom in June 2015 and took pictures of a young child. Police are not identifying the child or specifying an age.

Authorities conducting a search warrant at the home of Jeffrey Willis in Muskegon Township on May 17, 2016.
Authorities conducting a search warrant at the home of Jeffrey Willis in Muskegon Township on May 17, 2016.
Chief Assistant Muskegon County Prosecutor Timothy Maat said that at least two of the images Willis allegedly took were discovered on a hard drive at his home.

A woman who has lived next door to Willis for 17 years runs a day care. She declined to speak on camera Thursday but told 24 Hour News 8 that she never noticed any children around Willis?s home. She also said she never noticed him acting strangely around the young children she cared for ? though she said he gave her teenage daughters a ?funny feeling.?

In addition to the pictures police say Willis took himself, investigators found pornographic images of prepubescent children that had been downloaded from the Internet, according to court documents.

Willis has been charged with four counts of child sexually abusive activity that carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. Because he allegedly saved the images on a computer, he was charged with four counts of using a computer to commit a crime that also carry a maximum penalty of 20 years.

Assistant Prosecutor Maat said a judge could decide to make those sentences consecutive. That means even disregarding the charges for the 2014 murder of Rebekah Bletsch and the April kidnapping, Willis faces a potential 40 years in prison.

None of the charges are linked to the photos of bound and chained females found in Willis?s possession.

I think they have enough evidence to put him away for a long, long, time. The bound and gagged women might be hard to identify through photographs, and his lawyer could argue they agreed to pose for those pictures.

Have they found any more evidence tying this guy to Jessica? This guy is one sick, disturbed, twisted, fuck.

This girls face haunts me for some reason. I recently listened to a podcast about her and can't seem to forget it.

One thing that stuck out at me was the 911 call made by the manager. She stated she thought Jessica might have been stealing from the store, which is why she pulled in to investigate. Idk why that stuck out to me so much, but I just thought that was really odd.

Anyway, latest updates on this psychopath that they believe may also be linked to Jessica's disappearance:

Newly obtained documents reveal more details in Heeringa case
POSTED 6:42 PM, JULY 22, 2016, BY DARREN CUNNINGHAM, UPDATED AT 06:47PM, JULY 22, 2016

    http://fox17online.com/2016/07/22/ne...heeringa-case/

MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. -- Newly obtained documents shed more light on the investigation into suspect Jeffrey Willis. He?s charged in the murder of Muskegon County jogger Rebecca Bletsch, and he's a suspect in the disappearance of Jessica Heeringa.

FOX 17 obtained documents from the Michigan State Police through the Freedom of Information Act.

A Michigan State Police incident report written in May 2016 explicitly states, "Investigators believe Jessica was murdered by Jeffrey Willis, but her body has not been located to date." The report was written days after Willis' arrest for the attempted kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl in northern Muskegon County.

A report from April 2013 (when Heeringa vanished) states in February 2013, a Kmart cashier who was friends with Heeringa noticed a man with her in the store. But on her next visit, Heeringa told the cashier the two weren't shopping together. But she said he was a regular customer at the Exxon station where she worked.

The cashier feared the man may have been stalking Heeringa.

Records also show Willis was friends with a Norton Shores police officer, and the two would snowmobile together on the officer's parent's property up north in Antrim County. Willis has a key to the property. In May, police interviewed a woman named Brenda Devine in Antrim County who lives close by. She told detectives she believes she saw Jeffrey Willis on the neighbor's property at some point but wasn't sure when. Devine said her neighbor claims to have seen Willis leaving the property with a shovel, although she questioned her neighbor's credibility.

The report also states a cadaver dog searched the cabin and property but found nothing. Police also searched a well near the property. Other than snapping photos, the report states no evidence was gathered. Willis is currently in jail facing kidnapping and murder charges.
Prosecutor in Jessica Heeringa case: ?No ball dropped?

    http://woodtv.com/2016/07/13/prosecu...-ball-dropped/

A search warrant obtained Monday by 24 Hour News 8 described the 2007 incident.

A Muskegon-area woman told police she was walking through the Sam?s Club parking lot on Sherman Boulevard on Oct. 5, 2007, when she noticed a man videotaping her from his tan car.

She told police the car followed her as she drove away, but that she made a quick stop and got his license plate.

The woman told 24 Hour News 8 she immediately called police from her car, but that the man followed her a little longer before driving away. She said police warned her to keep an eye out for him.

Records show the license plate came back to Jeffrey Willis.

That police report was taken by Fruitport Police, which didn?t arrest Willis and didn?t issue him a ticket.

?Whether not he?d been on anybody?s radar, he was a person sitting in a parking lot, videotaping people,? Hilson said. ?Again, right or wrong, it?s not illegal.?

Six years later, the disappearance of Jessica Heeringa from a Norton Shores gas station led police to search for a silver mini-van ? based on a description and grainy surveillance photographs ? without a license plate.

Prosecutors said Willis?s van was among more than 100 checked out by police ? based on tips ? shortly after the disappearance.

The license plate on his silver van was the same plate he had on the tan car back in 2007 during that videotaping incident.
And this one really gives me the chills. Not sure if this was mentioned in other articles.... :

A source has told 24 Hour News 8 that Willis had information on Heeringa in a computer file he had labeled ?VICS,? short for ?victims.? The MSP reports 24 Hour News 8 obtained Thursday included what was found on Willis?s computers and hard drives, but any possible information on Heeringa was removed.

Willis owns a silver minivan similar to the one police were searching for in the Heeringa case; his co-workers said he frequented her gas station, which is between his Muskegon Township home and workplace in Spring Lake; and a source said he wasn?t at work in the days after police say she was abducted.

The MSP documents obtained Thursday also contain another interview with Kevin Bluhm, Willis?s cousin who is charged with lying to police about Willis?s possible involvement with the Heeringa case. All 30 pages were entirely redacted.
I hope they get more information out of this piece of shit. The family deserves to at least be able to put her to rest.
