Justice Williams (9) hanged herself from a shower rail because she was depressed over the birth of a sibling

THE 9-YEAR-OLD Bronx girl who hanged herself from the shower in her family?s home may have been motivated to take her life by jealous resentment of her newborn brother.

Justice Williams had been struggling to adjust to her role as a big sister after her mother, Tamiqua Torres, gave birth to a little boy eight months ago, according to Torres? parenting blog.

Torres, 31, found her daughter?s lifeless body hanging from the shower?s metal frame in the family?s Wallace Ave. home about 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The girl told family members she ?wanted to die? when she learned her mom was expecting, according to sources.

Williams went to a therapist for help ? and the family believed she?d gotten over her distress, sources said.

Justice Williams had recently gone to a therapist for help dealing with the birth of new half-sibling, sources said. ?We were as happy as happy could be until one day my then-8-year-old woke up and decided that she wasn?t exactly thrilled about being a Big Sister,? Torres wrote in January.

She married Justice?s stepfather, Raymond Torres, in 2011.

Torres blogged that Justice warmed up to her brother after his birth, however, and grandfather Wardel Fenderson said he never saw any conflict.

?It?s an unforeseen tragedy,? Fenderson, Tamiqua Torres? father, said Monday. ?I?m feeling like a block of ice. I?m numb.?

He called his daughter a ?fantastic? mother who has ?nothing but love? for her kids. ?No mother should ever have to bury a child,? said Fenderson, 54.

The medical examiner ruled Williams? death a suicide Monday.

I know when i had my second boy my 9 year old son was jealous but would never kill himself because of it.
One day i was changing his diaper and i ran to grab powder and all of a sudden i heard my little one cry out and came in to see that my older boy bit his little ass. I was so mad but i made him tend to him.

I was two when my brother was born. I tried to kill him on more than one occasion. I'd club him in the head, smother him. I even tried to push him in front of a car when he was 2. It never occurred to me to off myself. Just him.

When I was 9 I was pretty stupid emotionally and thought all kinds of dramatic, bratty things. Honestly, I don't think this kid even realized the extent of what she was doing.

I don't know, puberty was starting round then. You have all these emotions and feelings and none of them make any sense. 13 you're more in a position to understand what is going on with your body and actually use it.
