Is he married? Kids?
I thought he was kind of brilliant during the trial, and this verdict confirms that opinion. He really knew what he was doing.
Yes! I thought he did a great job. A very streamlined case, only presented what was needed, did not bore the jury to tears, was captivating, etc. AND he got the verdict.
"...Jeffrey Dahmer... actually confessed and accepted his punishment. Had real remorse for the sick things he did. It's pretty bad when Jeffrey Dahmer is a better person than you are." ~Justice11 (re: Jodi Arias)
Saw this and couldn't help myself
JM did an amazing job for Travis today. The 2 minute pause in his rebuttal closing was genius.
I totally agree. The 2 min thing gave me chills. Crazy that 2 minutes is actually as long as it is.
WARNING GRAPHIC IMAGE included.
Juan Martinez Drops Photo Bomb.
Memorable Juan Martinez Moment.
Juan Martinez uses PHOTO and adds SHOCK factor to his case.
Nurmi is dumber than a rock. Look at how slow he and WillNot are.
It was a sneaky move and notice how Juan plays stupid when he does it? Not only does he show the photo once but he drops it on the projector again for a second time. WHAT? WHAT? What did I do wrong? lol
In Martinez rebuttal closing he said we dont know exactly when the first cut or stab happened but we can look at the photos and give a rough estimate of 2 minutes. I believe he's talking about the 2 minutes between the last shot of Travis alive and the shot of him lying on the floor with blood on his neck.
Here is a photo showing all the pics starting at 5:22 and ending at 5:33 PM that day.
that 62 seconds he previously referred to I believe was in reference to Jodi's story of saying that the photo at 5:31:14 (accidental ceiling shot) was when she said the attack started (because she dropped his camera and he lunged at her). He was saying that her story was impossible to do everything she said happened in the 62 seconds between that and the pic of Travis on the ground at 5:32:16
This man is truly dedicated to his work. Aside from that, I heard today from my dad that JM's wife passed away last year. I feel bad for him in a way, mostly because I hope he doesn't let his work and passion for justice to prevent him from being happy. I hope he is happy:)
I hear he has a girlfriend. I had no idea he is a widower. I hope he is happy with his new lady.
I just heard he will be interviewed by Troy Haden after sentencing. I'm looking forward to that interview!
It's not just the conviction. It's his hilarious one liners.
This is just one example of why I'm a JM fan:
Tho you probably would have had to hear the phone sex tape that was played in court to appreciate the "squealing like a cat" line

https://www.facebook.com/shanna.hoga...ocation=streamI hate to break a bunch of hearts, but this is Juan Martinez's super hot girlfriend, Treena Kay. She also happened to be the prosecutor on the trial that I wrote my first book about ("Dancing with Death," about the murder of Jay Orbin). She's the blonde in the front. This is a photo I had taken during the Orbin trial so you can only see her profile, but she's a knock-out!

Omg! I'm the happiest girl in the world right now! Sky Hughes just stopped by my house to give me a gift for writing the book on Travis. Her present is the coolest thing ever: a Juan Martinez bobble head she had made as a gift for Juan. How amazing is this! It's my prize possession!
Treena Kay is a good prosecutor just like Juan.
Min 1:30

Huh? Bryan Stewart was convicted of murdering Jamie Laiaddee in 2011. http://www.azfamily.com/news/Jurors-...134424528.html
Hogan's book that she is referring to is the murder of Jay Orbin, by his wife Marjorie in 2004.
No, now I get it. Estefanilia linked to an article that has a video where Treena Kay spoke at min 1:30. Then M Joy pulled up another video.
So, Treena spoke about a case Juan was on in 2011. They're both prosecutors for Maricopa County. Nothing odd here.
Time for coffee, I think!
