For the most part, Martinez has been able to quickly and clearly make points and cover a lot of ground. He's obviously much more suited to direct examination. The Prosecution has taken a very objective approach to the evaluation and it will be hard to dispute their findings objectively.

But is she too objective? This witness comes off as a little cold and spiteful, and perhaps inexperienced. On the memory issues the subjective nature of DeMarte's analysis could create problems. I also wonder why, of all the expert witnesses the State of Arizona could choose, they get a young woman so fresh out of school? She is also close in age and appearance to Jodi, and when she talks about her I get a catty vibe.

I love the testimony for The Prosecution, but it might be more effective coming from someone different.

I don't get cold and spiteful. I get objective. Isn't that what we want from experts?

Catty vibe? Nope. Not at all. Just because she's a female, and she is young, doesn't make her qualified. No more than saying someone should not be used because they are an older male.

Disclaimer, I dozed off a little and missed a few things. She's good, not saying she isn't, but did she contradict herself? Meaning, BPD flipped, example she hated Travis ... but then this shrink used how wonderful she wrote about him for not avoidance example.

BPD devalue or idealize the same person depending on how they feel that minute. Have a friend with a BPD daughter.

She does have fewer years of experience, very true. But she comes across (so far) as much more competent. I guess the jurors will have to decide if they find less experience and competence trumps more experienced quacks.
