The guy who killed the guy in the Angels also killed a sports star. Different.
Don't like what I have to say? I respect that. Go fuck yourself.
The length of DUI death sentences is unfortunately tied to how much publicity it gets and if groups like M.A.D.D. are able to assign someone to sit on the case. Judges definitely know when there's a MADD rep in the courtroom.
Drunk in a car Ron. If your drunk and stab her you will get 35 years.
You would think a car that is 3,000lbs would be more of a deadly weapon than a 2lbs knife.
As far as the subject of this thread goes, this is off topic. It does relate to the post immediately above though. Re a car being more of a deadly weapon? Oh it is. & like a knife, it can't be a weapon without human intent. Reminds me of the last time I ever rode in a vehicle with my charming country cousins.
Cousin : "I'm gonna get this fucken 'roo" (swings wheel violently off road & speeds through scrub).
Me (thoroughly confused & looking for concealed weapons, while holding on for dear life) : "But you promised there'd be no guns"??
Cousin : I don't need a gun darlin', I got a one tonne bullet".
Me : "You've got a wha..(horrified realisation coincides with horrifying event)".
It's been almost 30yrs. I havn't visited since. I never got my driver's license either. Never connected the two before, but maybe there's a link.
WA just recently changed jail time for Drunk Driving homicides. The King County Prosecutor was on a radio interview last week, I believe it was Thursday I heard it, and was stating that due to the change in the laws and potential jail time - with the different charges that can apply they are hoping for up to a 19 year sentence. If this had happened just a year ago, it would have been 9 years, or less.
