Yeah, I live right by the lake..., I'm lucky. Gonna have to ride my bike out there this summer for sure.
Don't like what I have to say? I respect that. Go fuck yourself.

This is the kind of honest talk I think we should have more of around here.

I hate the whole "southern hospitality" bullshit.

Wait, when a guest comes in you are polite and offer them something to drink?

    Fuck off.
And affirmative action is a very nice term for racial discrimination against better-qualified white people in jobs, employment, promotions and scholarships, and college admittance.

Honestly there are some crazy hot girls in NYC, but one advantage of the south, or at least Texas, is that bikini season is a big driver for gals to get in shape for hanging out at the pool/lake all summer. Whenever everyone's all covered up with jackets and stuff, they can hide the extra pounds. Honestly that's not just for girls, I usually pick up extra pounds during the winter and right about now I'm working on shedding them so I don't look like a complete slob in my swimming suit.

This is on my lake and every summer weekend it's on like this Saturday and Sunday.

Wait, can I post in here if I was born and raised in Louisiana, but moved to Ohio in adulthood?

I still have my cajun accent, but folks back home say I talk like a Yankee now.

I have tons of guns, though. And a bible. And a truck.

But I don't dip chew and go mud riding. I don't say y'all anymore. Now I'm confused.

    What the hell am I?

Also the heat makes me know I'll never live in the south. When I went on my trip, I did it in February. I wasn't taking any chances.

Dude, I was in south Florida in November. Fucking Thanksgiving, and I thought I was gonna die in that heat! Yea, it gets ugly out there.

We stopped in Hattiesburg. It wasn't some rural area so that's why we were surprised at the reaction.

Ah, yeah that's why. That's the southern end of Mississippi. The delta. They're still pretty much living in the days of the KKK. There are still hot boxes standing in open fields there, which is a pretty scary thing to see.

I just figured, hey it's a city so it shouldn't be so bad! Well, I didn't even think about that until after the incident.

In the days of slaves they had 'jails' for black criminals and disobedient slaves. They were square room like structures put in the middle of fields with bars, like a jail cell except it had no roof so that the slaves would be punished by the 110 degree sun bearing down on them.

Oh, well that's a part of history. Like the Confederate flag. There's nothing terrible about having those up at all.

Most of the land that these sit on now, what's left of them, is privately owned. So, the government can't just order these people to demolish them. It's an owner thing. And honestly, it's a badge of honor in that delta. What's amazing to me is that there's a pretty large population of black folks in the delta. So it's kind of like a fuck you to the whites.

There was a big write up a few years ago in one of the Jackson papers about blacks moving to Jackson and surrounding areas of the delta. The whites were pissed because that's 'their land' and blacks weren't welcome. They came anyway and continue to come. It was looked at as an 'in your face' move.
