(CNN) -- [Breaking news update, posted at 11:44 a.m. ET]

A grand jury investigating the 2012 rape of a 16-year-old girl in Steubenville, Ohio, has indicted four more people in the case, including the school superintendent, two other educators and an assistant football coach
, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine said Monday.

This brings to six the number of people the grand jury has indicted after two students were convicted in March of rape, DeWine said.

Superintendent Michael McVey was the only one of the four to be charged Monday with felonies: a count of tampering with evidence and two counts of obstructing justice. He also is charged with two misdemeanors: making a false statement and obstructing official business.

A school teacher and an elementary school principal were charged with failure to report child abuse or neglect. A volunteer assistant Steubenville football coach, Matt Belardine, was charged with four misdemeanors: allowing underage drinking; obstructing official business; making a false statement; and contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child.

Steubenville rape case: 'New developments' to be announced Monday

The Ohio attorney general's office could say Monday whether more charges will be filed in connection with a 2012 rape of a 16-year-old girl that made national headlines.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine will announce "new developments" in a grand jury's investigation into whether other crimes were committed in the case that rocked the small eastern Ohio community of Steubenville, his office said. A news conference is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET Monday in Steubenville.

In March, Steubenville High School football players Ma'lik Richmond and Trenton Mays were convicted of the rape, which authorities said took place at a party in August 2012. Photos and videos of the incident made their way onto social media and attracted national attention.

A grand jury then began probing whether others should be charged. In October, it indicted William Rhinaman, 53, the director of technology for Steubenville City Schools, on charges of tampering with evidence, obstruction of justice, obstructing official business and perjury.

Richmond was sentenced to a minimum of one year in a juvenile correctional facility. Mays got two years.

If convicted, Rhinaman could be sentenced to four years in prison, which is longer than the two teens convicted of rape will serve.

Lock these fucking adults up and ruin their reputations. They deserve no less. If it were up to me, however, they'd get the same treatment that the victim got...you know, public shaming, relentless taunting, constant reminders of what they did. In public. All the time.

    Fuck these losers.
Don't like what I have to say? I respect that. Go fuck yourself.

Steubenville high school rape convict released

STEUBENVILLE — A former eastern Ohio high school football player has been released from a juvenile detention center less than a year after his conviction for raping a 16-year-old girl following an alcohol-fueled party.

WTOV-TV in Steubenville reported yesterday evening that Ma'Lik Richmond had been released. His attorney, Walter Madison, issued a statement saying the youth is "braced for the balance of his life" and that he and his family are requesting privacy.

"While away, Ma'Lik has reflected, learned, matured, and grown in many ways," he said in the statement. "He is a better, stronger person and looks forward to school, life, and spending time with family."

Richmond was sentenced to one year in March 2013. A judge convicted him and fellow Steubenville High School student athlete Trent Mays of raping the West Virginia girl in August 2012. Mays also was convicted of using his phone to take a naked picture of the underage girl. He was sentenced to two years.

Asked for comment, the attorney for the girl, Bob Fitzsimmons, said in a statement today it was "disheartening" that there was no mention of her or her family in the statement made on Richmond's behalf.

"One would expect to see the defendant publicly apologize for all the pain he caused rather than make statements about himself," Fitzsimmons said. "Rape is about victims, not defendants."

Madison didn't immediately respond to messages from The Associated Press seeking comment. Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine's office said he had no comment on Richmond.

Jefferson County Judge Thomas Lipps last August gave Richmond Ohio's second-toughest sex offender classification, the same as Mays had received. Richmond must register as a sex offender every six months for 20 years. However, he can request to have the classification removed later based on rehabilitation history, and his name won't be included on publicly accessible websites. Richmond was 16 at the time of the rape.

The case drew wide attention amid allegations of a cover-up to protect the celebrated Steubenville High School football team.

DeWine convened a grand jury last year to look into possible related crimes, resulting in charges against six people. The Steubenville school district's former technology director faces a late February trial on charges he misled investigators. He and other school officials charged have pleaded not guilty.

i'm not sure if this has been reported in this thread... it's from june. the hacker responsible for outing these guys may do some serious jail time for his efforts. does anyone have any updates?

Hacker Who Exposed Steubenville Rape Case Could Spend More Time Behind Bars Than The Rapists

The Steubenville rape case, in which two high school football players were convicted of sexually assaulting a young girl at a party, helped spark a national conversation about consent, victim-blaming, and rape culture. The case gained national attention after the ?hacktivist? group Anonymous leaked significant social media evidence implicating the assailants ? including tweets, Instagram photos, and a 12-minute video of Steubenville high schoolers joking about the rape. But it turns out that working to expose those rapists may land one Anonymous hacker more time in prison than the rapists themselves will serve.

As Mother Jones reports, 26-year-old Deric Lostutter ? who has been known as ?KYAnonymous? throughout his role in the Steubenville rape case ? could face up to 10 years of jail time if he?s convicted of hacking-related crimes. The FBI raided Losuetter?s home in April. The internet hacker told Mother Jones that he believes the FBI investigation was motivated by Stebenville officials who want to send Lostutter a clear message: You shouldn?t have gotten involved.

?They want to make an example of me, saying, ?You don?t fucking come after us. Don?t question us,? ? Lostutter explained. Those type of power dynamics played out over the course of the sexual assault trial in the tiny Ohio town, where many leaders in the community ? like the high school football coach ? played some role in covering up the rapists? crimes because that was easier than disrupting the status quo.

The two teens who were convicted of rape, Trent Mays and Ma?lik Richmond, face up to two years in a juvenile detention facility. Because they?re both minors, neither of them will spend as much time behind bars as Lostutter potentially faces. Lostutter is preparing for a costly legal fight, and crowdsourcing outside donations to help him fund it.
The site soliciting donations points out that ?Deric had the courage to stand up against rape.? And he says he would do it again, despite the potential consequences.

Anonymous continues to involve itself in exposing sexual crimes. After the intense harassment leveled against a Canadian teenager following her alleged gang rape led her to take her own life, Anonymous stepped in to demand justice, claiming their hackers were quickly able to identify the assailants.

The FBI Raided Steubenville Anonymous Guy's House. Here He Is.

The furor surrounding the Steubenville, Ohio rape case was sparked in large part by the raucous entrance of the hacktivist collective Anonymous into the story. Anonymous members organized digital and real-life protests and leaked information about the case, occasionally going beyond the law in their efforts to raise awareness and avenge the victim.

Gawker has learned the leader of that campaign was raided by the FBI in April in connection to a hacking and identity theft investigation sparked by Anonymous' Steubenville campaign. Now, he is revealing his identity, in anticipation of being targeted in the investigation.

He is Deric Lostutter, a 26-year-old who lives in Winchester, Kentucky. On April 15, the FBI executed a search warrant on Lostutter's home, taking computers, storage media, and his Xbox.

Lostutter confirmed to Gawker that he was KYAnonymous, the leader of KnightSec, the Anonymous offshoot that carried out "Operation Roll Red Roll," which targeted Steubenville over the rape by two football players of a 16-year-old girl. In a few weeks in late 2012 he became a well-known figure in the Steubenville storyline, at one point giving an interview to CNN in a Guy Fawkes mask. (The two football players were found guilty of rape in March.)

According to the warrant obtained by Gawker, FBI agents were looking for evidence related to the hacking of Rollredroll.com?the website of a Steubenville High School booster club that was defaced during the height of the Steubenville campaign?and the unauthorized access of the webmaster's email address. Rollredroll.com webmaster James Park's email account was broken into, and many of his private emails dumped online. In February, a hacker named Batcat took responsibility for the hack in an article in the Steubenville Herald-Star. He claimed he hacked Rollredroll.com in 15 minutes by guessing Jim Parks' password security question, after being approached by KYAnonymous.

In a statement posted on his website, Lostutter described the raid: "As I open the door to great the driver approximately 12 F.B.I. Swat Team agents jumped out of the truck screaming for me to 'Get The Fuck Down' with m-16 assault rifles and full riot gear armed."

    He writes:

This is my call to you, in the media, in the world of anonymous, who look to change the world to a free, transparent one, to my friends and family as well, to come to my aid, if you can find it in your heart, share my story, donate, buy a sticker, rally in the streets to demand the investigation against me be dismissed.

Lostutter is being represented by Jason Flores-Williams of the Whistleblower's Defense League, a coalition of lawyers who specializes in defending hacktivists and freedom of information campaigners. The Whistleblower's Defense League has set up a fund to raise money for Lostutter's defense.

Flores-Williams told Gawker the raid was connected to a grand jury investigation in Ohio, though Lostutter has not yet been informed that he is a target of the investigation.

"We certainly hope the United States comes to its senses and decides not to indict, and if they do we will aggressively litigate the incident," said Flores-Williams. "What's unique here to me is that it's not a national security issue. This isn't at the forefront at the NSA or the CIA. This comes out of the heartland of the country, and this is a person who is just trying to do what is right for the heartland."

A spokesman for the FBI's Cincinnati office, Todd Lindgren, said in an email, "we are unable to confirm or deny the existence of any potential investigation into this matter."

Lostutter is preparing for an onslaught: TWEET

Steubenville Rapist Released While Hacker Who Helped Expose Him Faces 10-Year Sentence

Steubenville Rapist Released While Hacker Who Helped Expose Him Faces 10-Year Sentence Image Credit: AP

Sometimes justice is not very just. Deric Lostutter, the 26-year-old hacker who went by the online alias, KYAnonymous, is facing charges after an FBI raid on his house in April for what the the agency is claiming is his illegal role in obtaining tweets and Instagram posts related to rape of a 16-year-old girl in Steubenville last year. Meanwhile, one of the two rapists Lostutter helped expose was just released from prison 10 months after being sentenced to one year in prison.

Whether or not Lostutter did any actual hacking is unclear (the social media posts were obtained legally), but the fact that he could be facing more prison time than the rapists themselves is appalling.

Although he initially denied his involvement, Lostutter eventually admitted to being the masked man in a video that threatened action against the players involved in the girl's rape and the school officials involved in the cover up and that included the heinous tweets and Instagram posts he had obtained. The video was posted to the high school football team's website and helped bring national attention to this story. A highly disturbing cellphone video (WARNING: graphic language) of students joking about the victim was also released by Anonymous, but there's no apparent connection to Lostutter.

Because of his involvement in the video, Lostutter could spend up to 10 year in prison, far more than what the rapists themselves faced (Ma'Lik Richmond, 16, was sentenced to one year, while Trent Mays, 16, was given two years). What's even worse is that Richmond was awarded an early release for "good behavior." But what's even worse than that is how Richmond came out of this. According to a statement released on behalf of the Richmond family:

"The past sixteen months have been extremely challenging for Ma'Lik and his extended family. At sixteen years old, Ma'Lik and his family endured hardness beyond imagination for any adult yet alone child. He has persevered the hardness and made the most of yet another unfortunate set of circumstances in his life. [...] In conjunction with his release, Ma'Lik, his family, and guardians ask that the media respect their privacy in this matter, as we all need to heal and move on with our lives. [...] We ask for your support and prayers as we move forward, Thank you."

So, it seems like he didn't learn anything ... at all. In response, Robert Fitzsimmons, the attorney for the victim, released a statement that read:

"Although everyone hopes convicted criminals are rehabilitated, it is disheartening that this convicted rapist's press release does not make a single reference to the victim and her family — whom he and his co-defendant scarred for life. One would expect to see the defendant publicly apologize for all the pain he caused rather than make statements about himself. Rape is about victims, not defendants. Obviously, the people writing his press release have yet to learn this important lesson."

After the Richmond family's statement, highly questionable CNN coverage, and these posts on the Steubenville news station's Facebook page, it seems like a lot of people still have a lot to learn about rape.
    not really an update though.

Daisy Coleman was not the victim in the Steubenville rape case. She was the victim in a similar case in Missouri, I believe.

3 Clawson High School students charged with sexual assault

Suspects charged with making cell phone video of sex acts with 15-year-old

    CLAWSON, Mich. -
Charges have been brought against three former Clawson High School students after cellphone video of sex acts involving a 15-year-old girl surfaced.

Police said 17-year-old Travion Terrell Watkins, of Pontiac, 17-year-old Kheimoni Slaton, of Clawson, and 18-year-old Terry Daniel Watts, of Pontiac, admitted to engaging in multiple sex acts with the girl last Oct. 9 in a home in the 300 block of Kinross.
Six days later, one of the suspects started showing the video to classmates, police said. It was the other students who reported the video to police.

Watkins, Slaton and Watts are all facing multiple charges of criminal sexual conduct and have been ordered to wear a GPS tether if they make bond.

They're next court date is March 14.

That is SO FUCKED UP. It's obviously too much to hope for conscience or intelligence to work here, but that whole Anonymous thing didn't make them wake the fuck up to themselves? Arseholes & idiots.

& Daisy, the girl from the other horribly fucked up case has her own thread

    http://mydeathspace.com/vb/showthrea...ootball-player

I think she's been getting savaged in the media (again) lately - as in "she said she wanted to party". They seem to forget how old she is & how seriously she & the other girl were hurt.(the other girl has not copped the same shit -like the new case posted above, her attacker wasn't a football player either - what a coincidence. Yay team).

STEUBENVILLE, OHIO - A judge has agreed to lower the sex-offender registration requirements for an Ohio high school football player who served time in a juvenile facility for raping a 16-year-old girl.

Ma'Lik Richmond and another player, Trent Mays, were found delinquent in the rape of the West Virginia girl after a party in August 2012. Richmond was released in January after a one-year sentence and rejoined the football team this fall.

As a sex offender, he'd been ordered to register his address every six months for the next 20 years. On Friday, a judge agreed to reclassify him so that he has to register only once a year for the next decade.

WTOV-TV (http://bit.ly/1uv2o1Q ) reports that the victim's mother opposed the change. Richmond's attorney declined to comment Friday night.http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/...fter-rape.html

All these people involved in this case for the purpose of having a winning football team. Why don't they just toss a virgin into a bonfire at the beginning of each football season. Geez!

Wow. Everyone is getting off scott free in this. Really, I wish I had been there and stole a million dollars during the rape. I'd be living in a fancy castle right now. Sure, maybe the judge wouldn't let me install my moat, but that's a small price to pay.
