I'm just happy I don't have wisdom teeth.

Suzanne Knight (21) brutally raped and devoured 3 toddlers while on a meth binge before hanging herself Marky69: If those toddlers didnt want to be eaten then they shouldnt of looked so god damned delicious. RIP Suzanne
They made me watch a film about all.of the most terrible scenarios before putting me under. Scariest moment of my life until they gave me nitrous..
Yeah, the odds are incredibly small that you'll die, but they have to inform you there's a risk. It took twice the medication a normal person gets to put me under. But honestly, my wisdom teeth hurt so much I would have chosen death over another day with them.
Cases like yours, bowie, are part of the reason that more safeguards should definitely have been in place. Doctors think of these procedures as "routine", despite the fact that sedating someone chemically is absolutely far from it. I have seen it done many times, and many times had to intervene when things go wrong. All that would have been required was a pulse oximeter - measuring the oxygen load on your blood cells - to avert this tragedy (assuming, of course, that these doctors knew CPR too...don't laugh, you'd be amazed at the complicated shit they can understand but when it comes to the basics they're all wtf??). Once it gets a low reading, it starts to beep immediately and doesn't stop until the situation is resolved. It's a $200 piece of equipment, but it's going to cost this practice dearly...and it cost that poor girl her life.
Don't like what I have to say? I respect that. Go fuck yourself.
I don't remember being informed of the risks, but I was a kid, so I suppose they just told my parents instead. I would have taken death over the pain after the surgery in a heartbeat. If they hadn't all been taken at the same time, I never, ever would have gone back in to get the rest out.
They don't give you gas cause you're scared.
If it's a bony impaction, you get gassed, if it's not, then you get a local. Pulling a tooth isn't a big deal unless it's covered by bone. A tooth may become impacted in the bone if there isn?t enough room in the mouth for it to emerge. It can also become impacted if it tries to emerge at an odd angle or position.
Im off of it now, thankyou. I was only on it for about a week.
I had a twilight sedation for my upper front teeth when i got my plate and omg! I think it was like 300$ for the twilight sedation and I wasnt even out enough. I cried and sobbed like a baby! My grandma paid for the sedation and she said it bothered her because she could hear me sobbing from the other room.
I liked the laughing gas but one time it was turned up wayyyy to high (on accident, i think) and I got anxious and thought I was floating. My wisdom teeth are all out but I wouldnt know the difference between that pain and regular tooth extraction because it was all done basically together.
All of my wisdom teeth were impacted, so I was put under to have them taken out. I was sick that entire weekend from the anesthesia.
My husband had his taken out, but just had a local since his weren't impacted.
Yes, they do. The wonderful thing about Nitrous is that it can be self administered. It has both painkilling and sedating properties. We used to give it to burn patients and patients with other injuries becasue it gives a high oxygen concentration and pain relief without rendering them unconscious (because their pain was reallyyyyy bad, and because when they self administer they become sleepy and drop the mask..slowly returning to full consciousness again). When dealing with "normal" patients (patients who don't have serious or painful injuries) you have to be verrry careful because too much of it will cause them to actually stop breathing.

My wisdom teeth are still freakin growing...
Well 3 of them are. but they are all growing straight and my dentist says I have enough room for them so I guess they wont be pulled.
I don't sell crack, I'm a prostitute.
So my dentist says 7 grand to have this shit done in hospital ... 4 grand for it to be done in the chair with local.
Still a huge risk of hitting a nerve and they have to come out either way.
FML.
I had the easiest recovery ever when my wisdom teeth were pulled, so did my brother.
Oh great my son is getting all 4 of his out in 2 weeks.
Just me...you can ask if they would let you be in there with him. If not, ask what kind of procedure they use to put the patient under, and what monitoring he will have while sedated. Have them explain it in detail. I'm sure all will go just fine.
