I hope that when the world comes to an end, I can breathe a sigh of relief, because there will be so much to look forward to. - Donnie Darko
Sure, go ahead.
I've read a lot of stuff on here, but this story really messed with my head yesterday. I also made the mistake of listening to the two 911 calls.
Here's mom facebook.

It's a prefix... I looked it up because I was learning about the structure of the eyes and brain and noticed the book referencing ipsilateral and contralateral a whole lot. Lateral, meaning side, contra, meaning opposite, Ipsi, meaning same. Ipsilateral means on the same side.
Blah blah blah, probably Latin or Greek. Latin, I guess.

How did you come up with your username?
It's what people call me in RL, my full name is Ipsita, but people have a hard time pronouncing so I shortened to Ipsi
Thank you! People say I have a pretty name :D I like yours too, rolls off the toungue :) how did you get yours?
I'm a very nice and friendly person, but once I took a trip with a few friends and this one guy and I just kept arguing over the stupidest shit while we were away. Everyone else thought it was hilariously out of character for me and started calling me animosity for the rest of the trip and it stuck when we got back. A lot of people still call me that. Hahaha.
My friend has a rat on her FB. They keep reporting her posts instead of unfriending her or unsubscribing, like you do when you get your jollies off of being offended and reporting people.
So we started posting offensive stuff on her wall since she's now in FB Jail. Figures that when I Google "Most offensive memes" , Baby Center pops up first
BTW, got an excellent one there.
So today I saw a picture of my grandfather after he had passed. He looked from the last time I saw him. He was just skin and bones and looked really frail. I had pictures of my grandfather from years before and couldn't believe it was him. It was unsettling to see him like that
I have seen pictures of dead people before, but it didn't affect me as much seeing my grandfathers. I guess because you know the person, and have seen them when you were a child.
And being the morbid person I am I sent the picture to me email and archived it :x
Have we got any Aus members with connections on the NSW north coast? There's tweets & fb posts flying everywhere that a supercell storm just collapsed part of Lismore Base Hospital.
Some aren't making it sound too serious ie "more detail to come" others are reporting patients unaccounted for & some are saying it's the maternity wing that was hit?? Would've been visiting hours whichever section it was so they might not even know how many are missing : (

Not making a thread unless it's confirmed this is a major disaster & not just a standard busted roof
Edit : sounds like it is the maternity ward

Lismore: 12 women & 5 babies being evacuated at Lismore Base Hospital after scaffolding collapsed on to roof. #7News
Hopefully that's the only part they got right

I'm hooked on listening to police scanners.
This lady called the cops on her friend's boyfriend for "passing gas and being aggressive about it" when she (the caller) asked him to leave. No intoxication, no weapons, no history of mental illness. The dispatcher said that they have an extensive call history from her address with similar complaints
And a few days ago at 3 or 4 a.m., a BNSF engineer called to report that this truck had been following his train for like an hour. The truck would speed ahead to the next crossing and sit and wait for the train to pass, then drive alongside it. When the cop pulled it over, it was this elderly couple. The husband said his wife had dementia and couldn't sleep sometimes, and that she liked trains. It was sweet.
I don't know where exactly to put this, was thinking additional info maybe?
They're looking to identify this man in Houston, who was a victim of a hit-and-run.
