He might know little things to help them out. Maybe she said something about going somewhere or someone was meeting up with some people they never investigated, maybe she was having constant fights with someone that he may know etc etc etc... No biggie really :P

Isibella Antionette they contacted me too because I'd written a
missing statement on her model mayhem account a month ago when she first went missing, I think the news crews are just looking for any info for tv. Any coverage is good though as it will help alert people to the fact she is missing, which may possibly help find her so good job dude! If it's any consolation after the Colorado batman shootings the news contacted my bf because he was in the same PHD program as the guy even though they had never talked.

    saw this on craigslist.

I agree. Folks, she made her bed, now let her get some rest in it!

    -------------------------------------------------

It sucks, when you see a poster of a missing woman in her early 20's and she looks like an escort, (Kara Nichols) you can look at the picture and see that she is a little rough around the edges... then to bite your lip knowing that she is dead from an overdose or someone abducted her. I feel no remorse, for a person in their early 20's that has made the decision to live that lifestyle, then has bad things happen to them. Just sucks when there is so much effort to find someone, who has been lost for years and yet now, everyone seems to care. Lost in a world of debauchery and recklessness, now she shines as a martyr of helplessness and everyone prays that she can be found, so that she can continue living the life she leads. I have no sympathy, nor respect for whores. You put yourself there regardless of what your circumstances are. You chose that life, so if you end up dead or severely beaten by a John, I see it as a waste of media to be posting missing ads and for people to be worried about a predator on the loose. When most of the time, whores bring it upon themselves. I would bet $100 the person I am thinking of, is a call girl that went on the wrong date. Well, that's what you get. Whores deserve no sympathy or respect, from anyone.

Just a rant I had and new it would be anonymous here, because if I said it publicly with my name attached to it, I would start a bunch of shit. But I feel that I am right.

I read that a couple days ago. Damn right he SHOULD have his name attached to it, what a shithead. What is he so bitter about, like, what is looking for and worrying about her taking away from him that he feels so angry? Uhg.

Thanks for updating this case, even if it is just this.

Message from the Family: Thank you for all of the tips, suggestions and comments. The family of Kara Nichols has forwarded any messages, comments and links to investigators at the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

"While most folks were enjoying their holiday weekend the family and NWCAVE has been exploring hundreds of link and comments on other sites; we realize the significance to many of the timed stamped comments and have provided investigators everything we have found this weekend and hope that this coming week those tips lead police to finding our daughter. Thank you everyone for taking the time to provide us leads that may bring Kara home.” Paul and Julie Nichols
idk idk. I wonder if her an this 'Bella' girl (using the escort name since we don't know who she is) worked as escorts together (since sooo many of the escort pages say they work as a duo), left to do a job (because I most def. never would take my purse or an ID to an escort job, anyway) and something came up, either awful or an oppurtunity. I mean, these two girls have images that were photographed in the same area and both of them had ads up before she was ever missing, so I'm GUESSING they previously knew each other.

I'm going to feel pretty bad if it turns out she has nothing to do with escorting now that it's sort of everywhere that she might be involved with it. Her Model Mayhem says she only accepts paid work henceforth and she is open to more than lingerie. Obviously she took nude/highly sexualized photos at some point. For an adult website? Just for an amateur photographer who was willing to pay her? Were they actually FOR that escort ad..? Why from that to escorting, why not become a stripper? She lived alone so she wouldn't have had to hide it from her folks too much. Read somewhere she had been going to Denver as often as twice a day for work, I can't imagine it was for paid photoshoots, considering just in August she was having financial issue (per her Model Mayhem note).

Just thinking out loud and hoping something sticks at least.

DENVER - Investigators confirm to 7NEWS they are following up on new leads in the search for Kara Nichols, an aspiring model from Colorado Springs.

El Paso County Sheriff's investigators wouldn't say what the leads were, but the developments come nearly a week after the 19-year-old's family came forward pleading for the public's help finding their daughter.

The 19-year-old has been missing for more than a month. Friends last saw her October 9th when Nichols was leaving her home. She had said she was going to Denver for a modeling gig. Nichols hasn't been seen since.

One aspect of the investigation is a fear Nichols may have fallen victim to what investigators call a dangerous subculture in Denver. It is one that involves luring potential victims with promises of jobs and other opportunities. Perpetrators only have intentions of turning the victims into a world of sexual exploitation and trafficking.

"It's absolutely happening in plain sight," said Emily Lafferrandre, an expert on the issue. "Everyone has seen a survivor or victim of trafficking. They just don't realize it."

Lafferrandre is a director at Prax(us), a Denver organization focused on helping victims of exploitation and trafficking. She said trafficking rings sometimes use modeling as a way of attracting potential victims. People at risk include runaway teens, women, men and members of the transgendered community.

"Folks are usually recruiting at bus stops and homeless shelters for people and making all these fantastic promises," Lafferrandre said. "Then when they're in these situations it's quite exploitive."

Perpetrators also use the internet to lure victims. "Customers" of the organized rings also use websites to communicate with one another. 7NEWS discovered some websites centered on the trafficking taking place in Colorado and Denver. We found posts from "customers," who use the sites to talk about and even "rate" victims.

Once in these complicated situations, Lafferrandre said victims often have difficulty getting out. Just like domestic violence situations, people who get sucked into the dark underground world go through cycles.

"There's a lot of trauma bonding and Stockholm syndrome that can occur where they believe that they love this person and this is the only person who has shown them love," she said.

There aren't reliable statistics on victims because they're within what is called a "hidden population." Experts and law enforcement officials admit it is a big and growing problem in Colorado. In fact, a study is currently underway in the area to get a better gauge of how many victims there are.

This year alone, Prax(us) has helped 70 people in Denver who are coming out of the trafficking or exploitive situations.

The FBI even has an investigative squad focused on investigating cases of child exploitation in Colorado
Good. Hoping something positive comes from these new leads.

They deleted it now, and I didn't think to screen shot it at the time, but the Seeking TheLost Fb page was throwing a little shade earlier at the Find Kara Nichols FB. I guess the FindKN FaceBook posted these All Rights Reserved / Copyright messages on all of their images, asking them not to be used without their permission, so Seeking left a salty public message about getting their priorities straight and have since deleted all of their Kara Nichols related pictures from their FB page

    Kind of an update. http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_22086905?source=rss

A photo of Colorado Springs teen Kara Nichols turned up on a Las Vegas website offering escorts, but it was not posted by the missing 19-year-old, the El Paso County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday evening.

"We have no confirmation that she is in Vegas." El Paso County Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Joe Roybal told the Colorado Springs Gazette.

The picture of the aspiring model used on the adult services website was previously available on the Internet, officials said.

Nichols has been missing since Oct. 9. At a press conference on Nov. 20 Sheriff Terry Maketa said the girl might have been taken advantage of because of her ambition to be a lingerie model.

Nichols was seen with two unidentified women on the day she was last seen by her parents, and she was on her way to Denver for a modeling job.

The picture and ad had been taken down by Tuesday afternoon. The same page advertised escort services allegedly for a pornographic movie actress.

Anyone with information about Nichols' whereabouts can call the El Paso County Sheriff's office at 719-390-5555 or send and e-mail to findkaranichols@gmail.com.

Missing model may be victim of Colorado sex traffickers: authorities
Several of the so-called modeling sites used by Kara Nichols, 19, ‘involved illicit drugs and prostitution’ plaguing the Denver area, say the cops. She has been missing since early October.

An aspiring model who disappeared over a month ago in Colorado Springs may have fallen victim to sex trafficking, an alarming subculture that plagues Denver.

Kara Nichols, 19, vanished after leaving her home on Oct. 9 to go to a modeling gig in the Colorado capital.

Investigators fear that blonde beauty has become ensnared in some type of front for a modeling business, according to an El Paso County Sheriff’s Office release obtained by KKTV.

Authorities have identified several suspect modeling- and fashion-related websites that they believe Nichols frequented, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Jeff Kramer told the Daily News.

Some of the sites “involved illicit drugs and prostitution,” Kramer explained, adding that Nichols likely didn’t understand the “inherent risks.”

“Someone that has big dreams with limited resources sometimes turn to the Internet,” he said. “We hope that someone with knowledge of that subculture maybe will have remembered seeing Kara.”

Authorities are currently hunting for two women in connection with Nichols’ disappearance, both of whom were spotted with the 19-year-old the day she went missing.

“Neither of them are suspects in anyway," Sheriff Terry Maketa told KOAA. “They're just people we are trying to contact that we know had contact with Kara at least the last date she was seen.”

Nichols’ roommates said they saw Nichols grab cash and leave with one of the women, but it remains unclear if they headed to Denver together.

Nichols kept in contact with friends and family until the evening of Oct. 9. Her cell phone hasn’t been used since.

“She was a very active on that phone, historically,” Kramer told the Daily News. “There would be numerous activity on the phone on given day and all of that simply stopped.”

Nichols, who traveled to Denver often in search of gigs, set up a page on modelmayhem.com, explaining that she was looking for paid work.

"I've done mostly lingerie shoots so far, but I'm extremely open-minded and I'm willing to work with you on ideas for shoots," Nichols wrote on her profile.

Kramer said there have been no big breaks in the case, but many people have come forward with information since the Sheriff’s Office held a press conference last week.

“Our investigators have received several tips from that point,” he said. “They have been busy since that time, prioritizing the tips and looking into them.”

Nichols’ parents, meanwhile, are pleading for any information regarding their daughter’s whereabouts.

“She just could have been anything, she could have had the world at her feet and to see that's she's missing now is just a crushing blow,” her father, Paul Nichols, told KKTV.

The sex trade thing is so fucking scary. People will just not believe that something like this is happening in our own back yards. This is terrible, but I almost would rather have her dead than be a victim of the sex trade.

I hate to agree, but I kinda do... Even if someone makes it out of that subculture at some point, the "damage" is done.

Right? And that's if the girl can get out. Otherwise, it is a life of pure torture. I would rather her be dead. It's so terrible to actually say, but I just can't fathom the torture she will endure, if she has been kidnapped into it.

But then you have to remember the victims like Elizabeth Smart - she was so very lucky.

Photo of missing lingerie model appears on Las Vegas escort website
Photo of missing Kara Nichols appeared on MyRedBook.com
Police said that the picture was taken from another source
The phone number was called but family said voice was not Kara's
The 19-year-old vanished on October 9 on her way to work in Denver
Believed she's been targeted by crime group exploiting aspiring models

A photograph of missing teenager Kara Nichols has appeared on a Las Vegas escort website.

The picture of the 19-year-old aspiring model appeared on MyRedBook.com but police said the photograph was taken from another source and that Miss Nichols did not post it.

The advert promised that the girl pictured was the actual escort.

But when officers called an accompanying phone number, members of Miss Nichol's family confirmed it was not her voice on the other end of the phone.

Police leading the search for the model said that claims she was in LA were untrue.

El Paso County Sheriff's Detective Cliff Porter told Fox News that escorts and prostitutes often use random pictures lifted from the Internet to advertise online.

He said: 'We have no evidence that supports the claim that she's in Las Vegas.'

She went missing after leaving her Colorado Springs home on October 9 and was last seen with a brown-haired woman who detectives believe may have information about the young woman's whereabouts.

El Paso County Sheriff's Office previously called the case suspicious and said that Miss Nichols may have been exploited by an individual or group claiming they could further her modelling career.

Police are thought to have interviewed one woman who travelled with Miss Nichols but have not have not released her name. They are still looking for second woman.

Even if this young lady has no information, just the simple fact that she could tell us how they parted, what her parting words might have been, could be huge,' Detective Cliff Porter previously told ABC News.

Police are also seeking a second brunette who they said associated with Nichols, however they would not elaborate on the nature of their relationship or frequency of their contact.

Miss Nichols told her roommate she might go to Denver on the day she vanished but left behind her purse.

Friends and family said the woman was active on social media and regularly used her cell phone, but neither have been used since she went missing.

'All of a sudden that stopped -- no communication since then, especially from a person who was an extrovert, who was always reaching out to people,' Sheriff Terry Maketa said, adding that this made the case 'more concerning'.

According to ABC News, images of the unnamed brunette released yesterday have resulted in numerous leads and the El Paso Sheriff's Office has recruited the help of external investigators to help with the case.

'Tuesday's press conference has resulted in a number of valuable leads, and we are working tirelessly to follow up on these leads. They are labor and manpower intensive, and we have called on other units to assist us,' Detective Porter told the station.

Police said there was a strong possibility Ms Nichols was targeted by an organised group designed to exploit wanna-be models.

'These aspirations, we believe, have caused Kara to fall prey to a subculture of modeling-business fronts that many times involve illicit drugs and prostitution,' Sheriff Maketa said. This subculture could have exploited a teenage girl who may have lacked the life experience to see the inherent risks.'

The 19-year-old lingerie model disappeared more than a month ago on her way to work.

Police searching for the missing teen said the young woman never made it to her job, and added that it was 'really uncharacteristic' of her not to get in touch with family and friends.

There has been no trace of Ms Nichols since she made a call from her mobile phone at 11.45pm on the day she vanished.

'What causes us concern is that it is really uncharacteristic of her not to be in contact with her friends and family,' Sergeant Joe Roybal, from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said earlier this month.

Officers' attempts to reach Ms Nichols on her phone or to establish the phone's location have proved unsuccessful.

The teenager's devastatedfamily have set the 'Help Us Find Kara Nichols' Facebook page and teamed up with the National Women's Coalition Against Violence and Exploitation to raise awareness of her mysterious disappearance.

Friend Rachel Buster told KKTV News she was 'very scared' for the 5ft 8in 19-year-old, who is understood to have taken up underwear modelling in February of this year.

Her Model Mayhem profile says that, while she is new to the profession, she is 'very passionate' about modelling.

'Currently I'm working on building my portfolio so I'm always looking for modelling opportunities in my area,' it reads.

'I've done mostly lingerie shoots so far but I'm extremely open-minded.'

Sgt Roybal earlier said there was nothing to indicate that a crime had been committed or any evidence of foul play though they are now calling the disappearance suspicious.

'We really don't have any indication as to why she hasn't been in contact,' he said.

'The only thing that concerns us is that she has not been in contact with anybody.'

The officer said police want to raise awareness of the case in the hope that somebody might come forward with information on the whereabouts of the teenager.

'We're hoping for a best case scenario,' he added.

Ms Nichols is 5ft8ins tall and weighs 120lbs. She has blonde hair and green eyes, and tattoos on her wrist and ankle.
