We have forgotten how to be good guests; how to walk lightly on the earth as its other creatures do.
OHHHH!
Witches! I just knew it. Especially when people in New Orleans have been talking about AHS being there.American Horror Story: Coven!
“I wanted to see a lot of scenes with Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates going at it,” Murphy said, “so that’s what you’re going to see.”
Previously, Murphy told EW that “female power” would be a major theme of season 3 and it would have a signature, iconic monster — in the vein of Rubber Man of season 1 and Bloody Face of season 2 — who was female.

Hells. Yes. Can't wait!!!
I can't wait for this! It is going to be amazing!!
I LOVE AHS!! I watched both seasons and loved both, but Asylum was my favorite. Loved all the cast, especially Sister Mary Eunice (Lily Rabe) I get updates on IMDB AHS message board. It is going to be in two other locations other then New orleans. Love them witches!!
The showrunner took to his Twitter feed early Sunday to announce that Angela Bassett and Patti LuPone would be joining the cast of the witch-themed third cycle, dubbed American Horror Story: Coven.
The duo joins recently announced Gabourey Sidibe, Kathy Bates and returning players Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy and Lily Rabe in Coven, which will bow in October.
While little is known about the witch-themed season three of American Horror Story, producers said at PaleyFest in March that the series would again search for haunted places in America. Murphy previously told The Hollywood Reporter that next year would feature three characters playing real people, including Bates.
"It's a really cool story that we've been talking for a couple years, and this seemed to be the year to do it," he said, noting the series will shoot in multiple locations, one of which is New Orleans -- the first time the series has exited its soundstage filming location.

YAY!! Witches? This is going to be awesome. Can't wait.
Here are a few teasers about what's ahead:
1. Lange plays a witch named Fiona. "Some of us play witches, some of us play historical characters," she told the assembled press. "I do play a witch. We move back and forth in time. It encompasses a lot of different stories. I've shot two days so far, one day entrances and exits, the other day a scene. I don't know who the character is yet. It comes in little dribs and drabs."
2. Bates plays historical personage Madame LaLurie, a Louisiana-born socialite and serial killer who kept slaves bound in her home. Interestingly enough, Bates' great grandfather was the personal physician to Andrew Jackson, who lived next door to LaLurie. "I think he would have been there just before she left," Bates said.
3. Bassett also portrays a real person: Marie Laveau, a voodoo expert who, along with her daughter, had a big multiracial following. The actress noted that she's been approached by several individuals interested in voodoo in New Orleans for consultation should she need it. "It's been interesting being in New Orleans, there's such a regard and respect for who she was," Bassett said. "She was a woman in 1801 who lives to be 80 years old, who is a very influential person in the city. My character is based loosely on her."

4. Paulson plays Cordelia, the daughter to Jessica Lange's Fiona. This season, Minear said, will focus on themes of oppression of minorities of all kinds. "Within that idea, the idea of minority groups going after each other and doing the work of the larger culture for the larger culture [will be explored]," Minear said. "While there is a strong feminist theme that runs throughout Coven this year, there are also themes of race, oppression and there is a very strong theme of family, specifically mothers and daughters." Minear noted it would be safe to think of Cordelia in line with the character in William Shakespeare's King Lear.
5. Coven also will feature Salem witches fleeing to the South, Minear said, noting there are two kinds of witches in the world. Among the changes in Coven, Minear said this season will be more fun. "This year is a drama but there is a lot of humor, and we are embracing a kind of velocity and fun with the series," he said. "It's not the same as it was the past two years, but I think it can be more fun for the audience."

. . .
They're shooting right now in New Orleans. Taissa Farmiga, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe and Jessica Lange. I guess that's how modern day witches dress? Emma and Taissa look cute but it must be really hot all in black in New Orleans in July!

. . .
More on-set pics, different day, still in New Orleans. Evan Peters and Emma Roberts. Apparently they're BF and GF irl, and had an incident right before this in a hotel where someone called the cops b/c they having a very loud argument. When the cops got there Evan had a bloody nose and a bite mark on him...no charges were filed and they're still together.

More details!
During a panel for Emmy voters Friday night, series creator Ryan Murphy spilled some details about the plot of American Horror Story: Coven.
We knew that the season would deal with witchcraft and voodoo in in New Orleans, its primary setting. Murphy had also previously spilled that Kathy Bates' character would be "five times worse than [her Oscar winning] Misery character" and would be a friend-turned-enemy of Jessica Lange's "real glamour cat sort of lady" character. However, we didn't know the framing device for the upcoming season, which Murphy has revealed is witches of Salem vs. voodoo witches. Further details hint that it will be exactly as campy as that sounds.
The witches of Salem, the smart ones, got out very early and they were none of the ones who were burned. They all gravitated toward New Orleans, where they now live, and every generation has a great witch who has the most powers of them all, and that's called the Supreme. Ms. Jessica Lange is the Supreme.
While Lange will play the leader of the Salem witches named Fiona, Angela Bassett will play Marie Laveau, the real life "voodoo queen of New Orleans" who ruled from the 1820s into the 1860s.
As for other character announcements, Bates' "bad, bad woman" character is Madame LaLaurie, a real life serial killer who tortured and killed slaves for several years in her mansion until a fire broke out in the kitchen and firefighters found her cook chained to the stove, as well as an upstairs room where slaves were bound and tortured for long periods of time. Sarah Paulson will be playing Lange's daughter, Cordelia.
Murphy did, though, promise that this season would be lighter, he's previously said he missed the humor during Asylum's dark run. "It's much more buoyant and comedic and crafty than last season, which was much darker by design because it was about heavy social stuff." Murphy added that Frances Conroy will be playing a high school rival of Lange's character's.
Other returning cast members include Taissa Farmiga, Lily Rabe, Evan Peters, Denis O'Hare, Alexandra Breckenridge and Jamie Brewer. Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts and Patti LuPone will join the show in supporting roles.
I'm super pumped for this, sounds awesome. Kathy Bates
I'm pretty sure this is what you call some serious deep throat.
And this is the one that's been playing on my tv.
