The only time I've ever known of this happening is when things are "a little dry." I admit, I've seen a lot of porn and the licking fingers is used a lot on the women because it is obvious they aren't lubricated. I did have an issue with what abandoned hospital would still have a bed in it with fully-functional restraints.The leather would have rotted away.

Makes more sense True story with the restraints. The writers don't think viewers will catch on, I guess?
