No change in Joe's condition. CDC in Dallas confirmed yesterday that he is positive for West Nile. All they can do is keep up the antibiotics and keep him comfortable. He is still unresponsive but I am still talking to him. Hopefully he will hear me and pull out of this. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

Sherrie Kay Bowen, 51, of Denton, Texas, formerly of Kiowa, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012.

Graveside memorial services are Friday at 2 p.m. at the Wardville Cemetery in Wardville with the Rev. Bill Kirk officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors of Denton, Texas.

She was born June 9, 1961, in Dumas, Texas, to Robert V. Bowen and Aleene Northcutt Bowen. She attended school in Kiowa and graduated in 1979. She enjoyed gardening and caring for all of God’s creatures.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Joe Amyx, of Denton; two brothers, Keith Bowen, of North Richland Hills, Texas, and Brian Bowen and wife, Sandy, of Corinth, Texas; nephews, William Bowen and wife, Anne, and their daughters, Miranda and Gracelynn, of Stillwater, and Robert Bowen; and nieces, Tina Carnes and husband, Jonas, and their daughter, Blakely, of Stillwater, and Rebecca Bowen, of Corinth, Texas.

And numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert V. Bowen; and mother, Aleene Bowen, and a brother, Leslie Bowen, who died in infancy.

Kiowa High School Class of 1979. For those that haven't heard, our classmate Sherrie Bowen passed away Wednesday evening. They are having a Memorial Service for her next Friday, September 14, 2012. At the Wardville Oklahoma Cemetery. Please keep her family in your prayers.
