Thirty-year-old Jini Barnum vanished and was reported missing on July 29th after she'd been missing for over 12 hours by her boyfriend -- who come to find out has quite the criminal past. Police are investigating her disappearance as one that is the result of a criminal act, and it would be interesting to find out whether or not the father of her child had anything to do with this mysterious case.

He was the last one to see her after having a fight with her. This is a detail that always sets off red flags when a woman goes missing. With her disappearance verging on weed two, the urgency in finding her and getting to the bottom of things is more intense. So what is it about her boyfriend? Earlier he wasn't identified but it's now known that her boyfriend, and the father of her seven-week-old child, is a man by the name of Anthony Garofalo, 38. Garofalo has been convicted of first-degree kidnapping, assault and sexual assault. He was also arrested on August 3rd regarding a violation of his parole.

Knowing that this nefarious of a character is even involved in a woman's disappearance just leaves a dark vibe over the entire case. Jini Barnum isn't facing positive statistics right now. The likelihood of finding her alive is damn near slim to nil, especially when the man who last saw her, fought with her, and is also a known violent offender against women. This could be why police believe criminal activity led to her disappearance.

It would be interesting to find out what kind of parole violation he committed and whether or not his incarceration is really pertaining to her disappearance. They could be holding him on this technical violation just to keep him from fleeing while they investigate this missing woman's case.

My first thought, before seeing your second post, is that the boyfriend did it. A new mother leaving her six week old child? After an argument with the child's father? I know the boyfriend's past doesn't mean he killed her, but I think he did. Even without knowing his past. I'm judging.

The human remains found in a shallow grave off Windham Road in Glastonbury have been identified as Jini Barnum of East Hampton, who has been missing since July. Examiners ruled the cause of death as homicide.

Barnum’s remains were found around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday after a woman was walking her dog in the heavily wooded area near Windham Road. The woman told police that her dog found Barnum’s shallow grave; she returned home immediately and notified the police.

The investigation continued Monday morning, when police dogs and the state police Major Crime squad searched the scene.

Barnum’s body was brought to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where her cause of death was ruled a homicide.

Barnum, 30, had been the focus of an intensive search and investigation after her boyfriend, Anthony Garofalo, reported her missing on July 28. Garofalo was the last person known to have spoken to her, following an argument that day. Barnum’s child was six weeks old at the time.

Garofalo is currently being held by the Department of Corrections on charges of violating his parole. The nature of those charges was withheld due to the ongoing investigation into Barnum’s disappearance, Department of Corrections spokesman Brian Garnett told Patch.

The Glastonbury and East Hampton Police Departments are currently working together on the investigation, which remains ongoing.

Anthony Garofalo, the boyfriend of Jini Barnum who reported her missing in late July, has now been named a suspect in Barnum’s death, a police official said.

In an email response to East Hampton-Portland Patch, East Hampton Police Chief Matthew Reimondo confirmed that Garofalo is considered to be a suspect in the investigation, which now includes both Glastonbury police and the Connecticut State Police’s major crimes unit.

Barnum’s remains were recovered from a shallow grave along Windham Road Sunday morning in Glastonbury. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed the remains were Barnum’s following an autopsy Monday and that her death has been ruled a homicide. The office declined, however, to state her actual cause of death because the family had yet to be notified.

In an interview with The Hartford Courant, Reimondo noted that Garofalo is one of several people his department will be speaking to throughout the course of the police investigation.

Yeah, I'm judgemental. Yeah, the bf did it. Amazing how she turned up dead after an argument. We've never, ever seen that before. Poor mom will never get to watch her baby grow up, and this poor baby gets to grow old never knowing her mommy. I have no idea what kind of monster it takes to do something like that, but I do know that he deserves not another breath, not another sunrise, not another chance to smile or laugh.

And it sounds like that dog walker is taking a chance not having a cell phone with her on her walk (in a heavily wooded area). I mean, there's dead bodies out there! Scary shit. But yeah, fuck the boyfriend.
Don't like what I have to say? I respect that. Now go fuck yourself.
