Claudia Hidic (17) was shot while robbing a house with two men

    http://mydeathspace.com/article/2012...e_with_two_men

Okay I read about this when it happened and was totally rubbed the wrong way.

Obviously she is pretty, so she seems to have gotten a pity-pass. On EVERY SINGLE article all i read comments say that she was a nice, sweet girl and its unfortunate she fell into the "wrong crowd"

Its obvious from what I read that Claudia was the "wrong crowd" she was the one who got these two guys to help her rob this house.
Yet because she's cute and young and they are black automatically everyone says she was a good girl who was with bad people.
If it was one of them who got shot in the head i doubt there would be such outrage.
Maybe they werent angels, but either was she

Ya that picture doesn't look like she just fell into the wrong crowd to me. She looks pretty proud of herself.

Claudia Hidic Tried to Lure Friend into Heist That Got Her Killed

A former Euless Trinity High School student found shot to death last month in Fort Worth was apparently caught in cross fire during a botched robbery she helped plan, according to arrest warrant affidavits released Monday night.

Claudia Hidic, 17, pretended to be a hostage of two men who had entered a home in the 3000 block of Overton Park West, threatening the occupants with a gun and stealing drugs and an iPhone, the affidavits say.

But she had actually recruited the men to steal money and guns from the home, only to be shot in the head when one of several people inside pulled a pistol to defend themselves and shots were exchanged, the documents say.

The affidavits provide new details in a case that has sparked interest, from the close-knit Tanglewood neighborhood where Hidic was found, to Euless, where she withdrew from high school in February.

Two men are in custody, accused in her slaying: Terrance Crumley, 21, and Curtis Fortenberry, 21, both of Fort Worth.

On June 28, Hidic attempted to recruit a 17-year-old male friend to go with them "to hit a lick at a house," according to the affidavit. Hidic told the teen that if he drove them to a house on Overton Park West she would give him half the money and a gun. The teen declined the offer.

Later that day, Hidic, Fortenberry and Crumley went to the Tanglewood residence, the affidavit stated.

Six people including a 10-year-old girl were in the house, which is across the street from Tanglewood Elementary School, when the three entered and Hidic was killed. At least one witness told police she went to the house to buy methamphetamines.

The robbery went awry when one of the witnesses inside the home got a pistol from a closet to protect himself and others from Fortenberry, who he said was growing angry. The two exchanged gunfire, and Fortenberry was hit in both legs.

Fortenberry told investigators that he believes that during the gunbattle, one of his bullets struck Hidic, according to the affidavit.

When they stopped and saw Hidic lying in the doorway, the affidavits say, everyone fled.

The man who lives in the house arrived shortly after 6 p.m. and said he found Hidic?s body in his back doorway.

He told police that he did not know her, but the affidavits say he received several calls from Hidic on his way home from work in Dallas that day.

The man told police that Hidic had visited his home a few days before the shooting and sold him a gun and gave him two laptops as collateral for $100 he lent her.

He also told police that she returned in ensuing days and asked for $600 more, but he would not give it to her, the affidavits said.

Police have said the man is not a person of interest in the case.

The two men accused in Hidic?s killing have had previous criminal troubles. Fortenberry faces charges of organized retail theft, burglary of a habitation, theft of $50 to $500 and assault with bodily injury involving a family member, Tarrant County jail and court records say.

Crumley was on probation after a conviction of property theft from $50 to $500. A drug possession charge was dismissed.

The two girls, covered in bruises, cowered in the back of a locked Fort Worth police car, begging to be taken from their parents' home.

Claudia Hidic, 15, and her 12-year-old sister told authorities that their father had beaten them with a belt and a vacuum cleaner cord and tied them to the dinner table.

Their mother, angry that police had been called, told her daughters that "she would have a knife ready for them after all this," they said.

They were afraid of their parents, they told investigators. They didn't want to return to their southwest Fort Worth home, where they said they were treated like slaves, were not allowed to bathe and were called "bitches" by their mother.

The allegations, which came two weeks before Christmas 2009, are detailed in Child Protective Services documents obtained by the Star-Telegram. The state removed the injured girls from their home and placed them in foster care.

Two and-a-half years later, at age 17, Claudia Hidic was dead, found shot in the head near Tanglewood Elementary School. Fort Worth police say she orchestrated an armed robbery at an acquaintance's home, then died when gunfire began and she was caught in the crossfire.

Her death last month garnered worldwide attention and raised questions about what would cause a young woman to mastermind such a crime.

Answers have been hard to come by. Although it's not exactly clear when Hidic's life veered off the rails, police and CPS documents paint a grim picture of a difficult and dangerous upbringing.

Hidic's father and mother, Behara and Salih Hidic, would not speak to reporters about their daughter's life, according to one of Hidic's 15 siblings....

Oil exec found dead in his burning car on the day girl who died at his home during botched robbery would have turned 18

An oil company executive from Texas whose former home became the site of a June robbery that resulted in a girl's death was found dead inside a burning SUV over the weekend.

According to friends and relatives of 44-year-old Robert E. Dodson II, the father of three was fearful that someone was after him not long before he was murdered.

Dodson, of Fort Worth, first started acting 'paranoid' after he was arrested October 4 on suspicion of drug possession.

He was later indicted on the charge and spent a short time in jail. Following his release, Dodson left the Fort Worth area for a couple of weeks, but then came back, according to an anonymous source who spoke to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Dodson's body was discovered at around 7pm Sunday inside a torched SUV that was parked at County Road 914 and Skyline Drive.

Officials ruled his death a homicide, but would not reveal how exactly he was killed.

The 44-year-old, who served as vice president of management for the Dallas-based Buckley Oil Company, was the one who found the body of 17-year-old Claudia Hidic at the back of his Overt Park West house on June 28.

According to authorities, Hidic had hired two friends to rob the home of the oil executive who was friends with her sister, and she was killed when a gun battle erupted.

Shortly after the tragic incident, the homeowner moved away from the area. His death came on the day that Hidic would have turned 18.

According to the indictment of Hidic’s two alleged accomplices, Terrance Crumley and Curtis Fortenberry, the plan was to pretend that 17-year-old was a hostage and they were looking for a man named 'Ghost' who owed them $900.

The three knocked on the door of the home and were invited inside, police claim.

Dodson was not home at the time, but six other people were. One of the men inside the home got a pistol from the bathroom and shots were fired.

Fortenberry allegedly told police that he may have accidentally killed Hidic, but his attorney refuted those claims.

Crumley's attorney, Warren St. John, also said his client was not involved in the shooting.

Hidic, a German national from Bosnia, lived in the area of Fort Worth, Texas with her sister. She studied at Trinity High School in Euless and worked at the Los Jimadores Tex-Mex Tequila Factory in Bedford, Fox 4 reported.

She dropped out of Euless after leaving a foster family and moved in with one of her sisters. She had reportedly told people, including Dodson, that she needed money.

Just a few days before her death, Dodson had given Hidic a $100 loan, according to the Star-Telegram.

A few days later, she returned to his home and asked for $600 more, but he refused. That's when investigators believe she devised her plan to rob him.

Man found dead in burned car had ties to teen slain in June

FORT WORTH -- The man whose home is where Fort Worth teen Claudia Hidic was killed in June during a robbery gone bad has been identified as the person found dead Sunday in a burning vehicle in Godley, authorities said Tuesday.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Department identified the dead man as Robert Excell Dodson II, 44.

Lt. Tim Jones, a department spokesman, declined to say how Dodson was killed.

"The investigation is wide open right now," Jones said Tuesday.

He said authorities were talking to Fort Worth police about the Hidic case, which drew national media attention because of the unusual circumstances of her life.

On June 28, Dodson reported finding Hidic, 17, dead at the back door of his house near Tanglewood Elementary School.

On Sunday, Godley firefighters, responding about 7 p.m. to a call about a fire at a gas well site, found Dodson's body in a burning car. Hidic would have turned 18 on Sunday.

Johnson County sheriff's deputies were called to the scene at County Road 915 and Skyline Drive in Godley and determined that the man in the car had been killed, according to a news release.

Investigators have not determined when Dodson died, Jones said.

Dodson, a father of three, was vice president over management at Buckley Oil Co., a family-owned business in Dallas, according to the company's website. A woman who answered the phone at the company Tuesday said, "We're not allowed to release any comments at this time."

Dodon's attorney, Mark Scott of Fort Worth, said he had just learned of the death and "we don't know what happened."

    Robbery gone bad

Dodson wasn't at his home on West Overton Park Drive on June 28 when Hidic was killed in what police described as gunbattle that erupted during a robbery she had masterminded.

Terrance Crumley and Curtis C. Fortenberry, both 21 and former football standouts at North Crowley High School, were arrested and later indicted by a Tarrant County grand jury in Hidic's death.

Hidic was shot in the head and died on the back steps of Dodson's home

Fortenberry told police that he believed Hidic was caught in the crossfire between him and a man at the home, according to a sworn statement filed by police. Hidic recruited the two men with promises of quick money in the robbery, police have said. The plan called for the men to pretend that Hidic was a hostage and that they were looking for a man called "Ghost" who owed them $900, according to the sworn statement.

The three knocked on the door of the home, which Hidic had visited several times, and were invited inside, police said.

Dodson was not home, but six people were there, including a 10-year-old. The gunbattle broke out after a man in the house got a gun from a bathroom.

Fortenberry told police that he might have accidentally shot Hidic, but his attorney, Brian Goza, said evidence was not clear on who fired the fatal shot.

'I am not a drug dealer'

On June 24, a few days before the failed robbery, Hidic sold Dodson a .40-caliber pistol for $100 and gave him two laptops as collateral for a $100 loan, police affidavits say.

She needed the money, she told him, to get her boyfriend out of jail.

Dodson told the Star-Telegram that he met Hidic about two months before her death but was better acquainted with one of her older sisters.

"We had frequently discussed that Claudia needed some direction and counseling," Dodson said.

When Hidic returned a few days later asking for $600 more, Dodson refused to give it to her, the affidavits say. So, police said, Hidic devised a plan to rob Dodson, recruiting Crumley and Fortenberry.

On the afternoon of June 28, as Dodson drove home from work in Dallas, he received a phone call from Hidic, who said she was with a blond Italian girl who wanted to meet him. He became suspicious and declined the meeting.

"I didn't know she had accomplices or [that] she was going to my home with them," Dodson told the Star-Telegram.

When he arrived home, Dodson found her body at his back door. He called 911 and left, later returning with his father, the affidavits say.

Dodson said he didn't initially realize that the dead woman was Hidic.

"She was facedown and you could not see her face, so I did not know who it was," he told the Star-Telegram.

Inside his home on Overton Park Drive, police found drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale, syringes and small baggies, and an off-white crystal-like substance.

"I am not a drug dealer, and none of those items belong to me," Dodson told the Star-Telegram. "They could have been brought there by one of the people there that day."

No charges were brought against Dodson in that case, according to Tarrant County criminal court records.

On Oct. 4, Dodson was stopped by patrol officers in Fort Worth who searched his vehicle and found methamphetamine, said Herschel Tebay, commander of the Tarrant County Narcotics Unit.

The patrol officers notified the Tarrant County unit. On Oct. 16, Dodson was indicted on a charge of possession of a controlled substance/methamphetamine, court records show.
