I was up to 76 pills a day, when I quit... I was 11 when they started to find everything (Lupus (sometimes it is lupus ), UC, migraines, bi-polar, anemia... oh the list could go on, I missed more school being at specialist offices than not) I just wanted to be normal at one point, and stopped taking everything. :| I should go back to doctors but I'm to chicken now...
Ah, Sweety that is so sad! I have 3 aunts that have lupus and it is nothing to mess around with.
Honestly, I think America is too "pill driven". There is a pill for everything these days. If ya feel fine without them, then there is no reason to take them...that is unless you need them for health purposes.

i've never taken Neurontin, but cymbalta made me sick, deathly ill even. i hated it. i've tried it twice, i thought if i tried it a second time and was on it long enough the side effects would go away, but they didn't and i couldn't handle it. wellbutrin xl is the only thing i've found that works and i still feel like "emily."

what kind of tea are you paying so much for? that's insane, i don't think i could justify spending that kind of money on tea!

i have to be on BC because of my health, but i'd be pretty pissed if i had to pay for my ring and wasn't getting any!
Cymbalta made me really sleepy, Neurontin had no effect that I noticed and Wellbutrin is the only antidepressant that has ever worked for me. I just got sick of all the pills.

The tea seems to be something that the doctor put together. It is in baggies with a little strip of paper that has general directions. I was so pissed because I followed them exactly and still burned the tea!! And to top it off, the smell makes me gag and drinking it is like torture so it is not going so well. I have a mug of it sitting right here that I have been putting off drinking. ugh.

    Re: Medication

I've taken Prozac since I was 18 (I'm 36 now) for depression. Blood tests taken at that time determined my brain did not make enough seritonin and I've been on it ever since.

Other than that, just a women's multivitamin.

Poor Mindy, all those meds and she still kept a smile on her face. Bless her heart.

When I have insurance I take:

Advair - twice daily for my asthma.
Albuterol - whenever the Advair just won't cut it.
Yasmin - to keep the babymaker from makin' babies.

For now, I just sorta wing it! :-X

Before Advair came along, I was on Singular, which never worked. As long as I take the Advair twice a day, everyday, I rarely need the Albuterol. But if I miss so much as one or two doses of Advair, I can feel the difference and end up hitting the Albuterol way more than I should. I don't know if it's national or just in CA, but the pharmacy just switched the Albuterol to some CFC-free variety, which is yay for the environment, but it tastes way worse than before.

Is he on any control/preventive meds for asthma?
I took it for awhile. But I didn't have depression, I had anxiety, so it didn't really do anything for me. But since you're taking it for PPD, you should be good. I've taken a shit ton of things, and I liked Lexapro because it didn't have any side effects for me.

My friend who is currently pregnant, was put on Lexapro (she was on Paxil). I don't think she is much of a fan.

Are you breastfeeding? That has a lot to do with what they can/cannot prescribe you. Due to the "types" of medications (A,B,C)

I wouldn't call it breastfeeding so much as chasing the dream. lol I am pumping but still having issues with my milk supply. As soon as the babes are able to handle nipple feedings we are gonna try and get them on the boob to see if that helps so ultimately breastfeeding is the goal. I am not afraid to take the lexapro or anything, it's just been a long while since I have been on any kind of meds and Lexapro is so new that it's kind of after my time so I don't know too much about it yet. I was just wondering if anyone had any personal experience with it good or bad. :)

I know she isn't a fan of it, but then again, she was coming from Paxil which is a stronger medication. I take Prozac, and actually took it throughout my pregnancy and was a very nice pregnant person.

I had PPD BADDDDDD. It makes me (besides other reasons) never want to have kids again just so I don't go through that. However, I didn't breastfeed and was on the Prozac and the Colozepan (which I was taking prior to pregnancy).

See and I have taken paxil before and hated it. Especially the discontinuation syndrome when i stopped. Well i am gonna give it a whirl and see what happens. I wish there was more than anecdotal evidence in regard to anti-depressants and breastfeeding, but I get that no ethics board would ever agree to that kind of experimenting on a human baby. lol PPD sucks!

Paxil is the absolute worst EVER. The withdrawals from it have been concluded to be similar of coming off of heroin. I hate it and think it should be taken off the market. Then again, when I was on it, it was right when it came out so maybe the "kinks" weren't worked out yet. It works wonders for some, but def. not myself. If anything, I felt worse on it than I did when I wasn't on anything at all.

Gah, think paxil is bad, try getting off of effexor. I'm gonna be on this shit til the day I die. If I miss one day I get a headache, nauseous, start shaking and crying uncontrollably. It's awesome.

I've after 3 months FINALLY gotten off of Effexor. I STILL have side effects in the mornings, I feel like shit when I wake up. I get worse anxiety than I did before it, but it's easing off. I've read it can take up to a year or more for withdrawal symptoms to go completely away. There's days where I'm like, fuck THIS I'm just going back on the Effexor, and my hubby talks me through it. That is by far the shittiest, besides the benzodiazepine drugs to get off of. I'd rather kick opiates, everyday for a month, than this shit. :(

    Ditto x 10000.

And I was 16 on it, and two years after they came out saying that it shouldnt be given to teens because of the increase of suicide attempts. I dealt with side effects for years. It just made me worse than I was to start with.
A year?! ugggh yeah, im a lifer. That's the thing...I managed to go off it for about 3 weeks. I don't know how, I really don't. And then all of a sudden my driving anxiety was back like BOOM full force and worse. I took one pill and it completely went away again. It's like that dealer who just has to keep pulling you back in.

I think they've improved Paxil a lot, because I've gotten off of it before and didn't have any major withdrawal symptoms at all. Unfortunately, getting back onto it the second time wasn't as good as the first, either.

Seroquel. Psych is trying to get me on Topamax and Abilify but noooo thank you. I tried the Topamax and it was NOT fun. I'd rather be back on gabapentin as a "mood stabiliser." Bastard.

Im currently on 500mg Penicillin 4x a day and Percocet. Both for a tooth abscess.

Normally though all i take is Depakot for being epileptic and the occasional ibuprofen. I avoid pharmaceuticals whenever possible.
