13 y/o hockey player breaks wrist after he is tripped by opposing team's coach

Ohhhhhhhhhhh this seriously makes me angry and stabby.

A Canadian youth hockey coach by the name of Martin Tremblay made headlines today when video of him tripping a 13-year-old boy during postgame handshakes went viral. Little is known about this horrible, horrible man at the moment, but according to Yahoo! Sports, he?s currently facing unspecified charges relating to the altercation.

Per the report:

"The coach was arrested. Charges will be forwarded at a later date, pending the results of the investigation." RCMP Sergeant Paulina Gidda told the Canadian Press. "It was an incident that was unfortunate, and it doesn't bring a great light to our community."

and the reason for the kid being tripped....

One parent of a Richmond Steel player, who did not want to be identified, said the incident started after the Steel player who was injured started to celebrate the opening goal.

?He was celebrating and he skated by the (opposing) bench and obviously, the coach said something to him because the player then turned around and gave him the finger,? the parent said.

?Every time that kid was on the ice, you could see the coach would be talking to him, trash talking him, basically,? added the parent.

?It was to the point where the kid was visibly upset on the bench.?

Giving the coach the finger is a stupid, childish thing...disrespectful, yes, absolutely. And if that were my child he'd get the ass reaming of his life. But to trip said player...as an ADULT? That is about as childish and immature a move as you can pull. Especially since your team won the damn game. Add that to the fact that you HURT the child in the process? You're an even bigger asshole than we see on the tape. Grow the fuck up.

No,you dick. I'm saying hockey dads are infamous for being WAYYYY too involved and intense about the sport. My friend told me that once when he was like 12, this kid in his camp was having a nightmare where he kept saying, "No dad, I don't want to play hockey!"

??? Hockey is notorious for that, as Chaunce pointed out above. It's a sport that revolves around beating people up until you're sent to the penalty box.
