Linnea Lomax (19) was found dead more than a month after she was reported missing

    http://mydeathspace.com/article/2012...ported_missing

A 19-year-old UC Davis student has vanished, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said.

Linnea Lomax was last seen about 1 p.m. Tuesday at a business in the 800 block of Howe Avenue, department spokesman Jason Ramos said in a news release.

She is considered missing and at-risk due to her disappearance being "inconsistent with her normal behavior patterns," the release says.

Lomax's father called KCRA 3 on Tuesday night and said during her finals, Linnea had a nervous breakdown.

She was then admitted to a Sutter Health psychiatric hospital, he said, but doctors released her on an outpatient basis.

The teen went for a walk and hasn't been seen since, the father said.

Lomax is about 5 feet 2 inches tall and 100 pounds with long, blonde hair and blue eyes, deputies said. She was last seen wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and green pants.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Department at 916-874-5115 .

So sad. She's got some pics of herself with friends on her fb page but it looks like they were taken quite awhile ago. I hope they find her quickly.
Don't like what I have to say? I respect that. Now go fuck yourself.

    Find Linnea FB- http://www.facebook.com/HelpFindLinnea

Also in this article, http://davis.patch.com/articles/uc-d...idered-at-risk , her father says that she had nervous breakdown during finals:
"Lomax's father told KCRA that his daughter had a nervous breakdown during finals. She was checked into Sutter Health psychiatric hospital, but was later released "on an outpatient basis," according to KCRA."

I don't know how reliable this is but this was posted on Find Linnea page-

First there is a post that says "If you see Linnea, please call 911 before attempting to talk or approach her."

    Then-

"The anonymous tip caller from yesterday saying they saw her near the Levy said that when they approached who they thought was her, she ran. Everyone searching is probably just trying to be safe than sorry and cover all bases. It could have been someone else and not her. The most important thing is to find her irregardless of if she was taken or ran away.

Also, the only reason why I know about the info above is because the search party was at my boyfriend's work last night looking near the Levy and a family member of Linnea told my boyfriend about the tip call."

Wonderful volunteers. We are grieved to report that we have just received confirmation that our search for Linnea has ended in sorrow. She has gone to be with her Lord. Yet in our sorrow we do not despair, knowing we will see her again one day. Arrangements for a Celebration of Life service are being made and details will follow. More information will be released as her family deems appropriate. In the meantime, please allow them privacy as they mourn, and please continue to hold them up in prayer.

    Oh god.

A UC Davis student apparently hanged herself after leaving a Sacramento mental health facility in June.
Linnea Lomax’s mom said she was the one who found the 19-year-old’s body in an East Sac park last Friday.

Lomax's parents talked with media reporters Tuesday morning, describing the moments when they found their daughter’s body.

Marianne Lomax says she was with a handful of friends when they smelled something odd in Glenn Hall Park on the north side of East Sacramento.

She says she walked around smelling plants and brush to find the source of the odd odor, making her way to what she described as a beautiful area near the river. It was there that she found the body of her daughter, with what she called apparent signs that Linnea had hanged herself.

“I crawled through on my knees and hands and came to a pretty place, right by the river. The river was there, there was really nothing else there. And then, I saw my daughter. I looked for two seconds and I knew it was her and I ran up screaming,” Marianne said.

Marianne said she had been praying that God would help her find her daughter, and she says God answered her prayers.

“I prayed to God that he would take me to her, or have her come to me. That’s been my biggest prayer for the last few week," Marianne said.

Lomax was taken to a mental health facility along Howe Avenue over the summer after her Freshman year at UC Davis.

She was last seen leaving the clinic on June 26, without her phone, wallet or medication.

Lomax's parents said their focus now is raising awareness about mental health issues, so that what happened to Linnea doesn't happen to anyone else.

“We look forward to playing our part to save lives. We are looking to partner with those who insist on increasing mental health awareness and adjustments that need to be made to the law,” said Linnea's father Craig.

    Yep.

This seriously breaks my heart. This poor girl. Maybe someday we'll recognize mental health issues as an actual, treatable condition.

I guess I don't understand this comment based on what I've read in this thread.

    She killed herself.

I think what she is referring too is the mother prayed right before to find her, then she found her like that.
But I don't think God is an asshole.

Especially when one uses free will to kill themselves.

If God saved everyone we'd all starve to death.

No, just something that's been on my mind lately regarding the planet's ability to sustain over 7 billion people.

Anyways it's too bad that this gal killed herself and at least in this case, unlike many others, the family has answers and hopefully closure.

Why doesn't God just give us some extra food?

Im talking about the mother going on and on about what a great gift from god to find her daughters decaying corpse instead of god, you know, not making her insane or finding a way to intervene with her suicide. God seems to have a lot higher of a body count than actual saves.

Whoa whoa whoa. So her mother found her daughter's dead body hanging from a fucking tree?! She'd been missing over two months, how long had the body been there?! I don't even want to think about the condition she was in. Gah.

I have seen the future and I'm fairly relieved to say, it looks nothing like me.

The mother finding her two+ months after the fact seems like a crazy coincidence no?

The two big questions are "why did no one else find her by now?" and "Did the family have a history of going to the park?" If they had no history of going to this park it seems impossible that the mother would be the one to find her body. I expected her mother to say something like "I knew Linnea loved that park/river and I had a feeling she may have been near it". When she said God made her find her my BS rader went off.

That being said, I can't say the parents trigger my spidey-senses in general. I don't see anything from their interview that makes me think they could be capable of staging something like that and even speculating about it is terrible if they are indeed grieving a suicide of their daughter. Hopefully the body isn't too decayed so the autopsy can be deterministic.

I'm going out on a limb here--pun intended-- but I'm guessing whatever branch she did it from broke and her body was on the ground, but still presented the obvious signs of hanging. Also gross toucan Sam following their nose to her body.

I picture the rope and limb intact and her head separated from the body, on the ground.

I'm thinking SLIGHTLY less repulsive but a the body rotted, it would create additional weight.

You have a good theory. Gravity takes it's toll with body fluids, limb breaks. My first thought is to pick a pretty strong limb so it doesn't snap while strangling ones self. Either one is plausible. It must have been horrible for the mom to find her. I can't imagine it. She was close to a river so there are all kinds of critters and insects that probably nibbled on her. I wouldn't want my loved ones to see me in that condition:-(

I found this on websleuths -

When I spoke with the coroner at the morgue and asked about a body out in the elements for this long of time, she said it would be partly skeleton, some skin, and I know hair, so they must know the hair color.

And the mother said she found her still hanging - not sure if that means the whole body or just part

Marianne Lomax got on her hands and knees, crawled through the bramble and came to what she called a "pretty place" alongside the water.
There, she found her 19-year-old daughter Linnea, hanging from a tree.
