Whenever I see this cause of death I assume the car hit the motorcycle. Not so in this case. And he wasn't wearing a helmet.

Article from the Dallas Morning News:

An Arlington man died early this morning after apparently running a red light and colliding with a sedan in South Arlington.

Stephen Branham, 25, was heading east on Sublett Road when he hit the front fender of a car driving south on New York around 2:40 a.m., police said.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passenger, Kayla McKenzie, was transported by ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with a serious leg injury. Thursday was McKenzie?s 24th birthday.

Neither she nor Branham was wearing a helmet, police said.

While there is currently no indication that alcohol was a factor in the crash, ?it?s still early in the investigation,? said Cheryel Carpenter, an Arlington police spokeswoman.

The man driving the car was uninjured.

    Rest peacefully, Stephen.
