Gay Bar Bans Bachelorette Parties

I fucking hate the Abbey.. but this makes me kinda like them. But I seriously hate the Abbey.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KTLA) -- A popular gay bar in West Hollywood says it will no longer allow bachelorette parties.

The Abbey -- which has been named the best gay bar in the world by Logo TV-- had allowed bachelorette parties as long as no one wore costumes.

But in the wake of gay marriage bans in California and some other states, Abbey owner Dave Cooley says he doesn't want to host bachelorette parties any more.

He says many of the girls who come there to celebrate pending nuptials don't realize that the people around them aren't allowed to get married.

Cooley says the Abbey continues to welcome straight people -- just not at bachelorette parties.

He hopes other gay bars across the country will implement similar bans to show support for gay marriage.

I take offense to this. But I know better. I haven't hit on a bachelorette party in over a decade.

Even if one of the girls is a "goer" anything you're trying to do is gonna get interrupted by a hater, or someone who can't hold their booze. It's totally amateur hour. Besides, they're out with Aunt Gladys and Janice from accounting.
