a) remove the public from the mother's proximity so that they can't be rude or
b) remove the mother from the public's proximity so there's no initiating factor

i supposed this issue can be eliminated by creating public baby stations that have feeding/changing areas. like i said before - for those of you who joined the conversation late - sure, i'm a little uncomfortable with it, but ultimately i don't give a shit. i'm just playing the DA a little.
While in a perfect world this might work, then you have a poor mother running around a store, etc. looking for said room while people stare her down because her hungry kid is ScReAmInG because he/she is hungry.

Breastfeeding in public does not bother me. Just like chicks whipping out their junk at Mardi Gras doesn't. I wasn't breastfed but my aunt always breastfed so I was raised around it. But what bother's me are women who have to be an asshole about it.

Woman thrown out of hardware store for breastfeeding - I got her back.
Woman staring me down defiantly, "I breastfed my kid through to his senior year therefore you must a shitty mother" can suck it.
