Oh, Go Cry About It: A Thread to Actually Make You Do That

We had a thread like this a while ago, but I think it got lost in one of the crashes. I obviously blame Obama. Anyway, here is a place to post your sad pictures, stories, articles, videos, songs, movie suggestions, etc. I think the last thread was mostly me, Emmie, TPT, and Brie, but hopefully more people will contribute so we can all make each other cry with more frequency and intensity.

I didn't know this guy, but he's from my hometown and friends from home have been posting his story on FB.

Normally, I would punch you in the face, because that movie drained my soul of any small hope I had left for the world, but it is appropriate for this thread.

Why do I love to cry so much?

I read We Need To Talk About Kevin and cried. I didn't cry at the movie though.

I had a mega depresso movie marathon and watched Cold Mountain, The Help, Marley and Me, End of Watch, Dear Zachary, The Bridge, Revolutionary Road, Boys Don't Cry, Million Dollar Baby, and The House of Sand and Fog, over about a two week period.

Also, reading this blog makes me cry. http://www.sheyerosemeyerphotography.../category/ava/

Aw, that page is sad. But sweet.

And dang, girl, I probably would have suicided watching those movies. I haven't seen most of them, but I literally called into work the day after I watched House of Sand and Fog because I couldn't stop crying. I think out of all the heartbreaking movies that I've ever seen, that one is the worst. Not counting Dear Zachary. I didn't know the Help was sad.

House of Sand and Fog is the best/worst.

The Help has a part where one of the maids is fired and she has to leave the child she's been raising and the toddler cries and the maid cries and I cried.

You should watch any of those movies that you haven't seen, they're all great.

What Dreams May Come and Practical Magic are the movies guaranteed to make me cry.

Blogs from parents who have lost their children always get to me. That's just an agony I can't wrap my brain around.

Is this the one with Robin Williams and all the colors? I forget what it was about. Off to google.

Oh- got one of those. http://alltheseprettywords.blogspot....9400a948f18a73

Don't know this person, either, but my sorority sister is her best friend, and they had their babies within two weeks.

I didn't love Practical Magic, but the movie I cried the hardest at back in the day was hands-down Hope Floats.

I love both Practical Magic and Hope Floats!!

"But there are some things I know for certain: always throw spilt salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate, plant lavender for luck, and fall in love whenever you can."

"...beginnings are scary, endings are usually sad, but it's the middle that counts the most. Try to remember that when you find yourself at a new beginning. Just give hope a chance to float up. And it will..."

Every time I run across this picture I choke up. I can't imagine living in a place so impoverished that vultures lie in wait to eat a human being that is starving to death. The photographer that captured this photo killed himself three months later. It was said that he couldn't bear the guilt of not helping the child.

These commercial make me cry because of the sad faces on the doggies and kitties. But they also make me rage because of the frequency with which they are shown - why spend so much of my $18 on commercial time??? Also, why the fuck do I need a shirt paid for with my own $18????? Use my shirt for a dog pillow.
