PHOENIX (KPHO) - What if instead of going to church to confess your sins, you just went online?

A couple of ASU students are trying to take their idea to the bank.

"Mark Zuckerberg's obviously my enemy because he's my competition," Lonny Ruben said.

Ruben has a lot in common with his so-called enemy. Just like Facebook, Ruben's new website began with an idea.

"People have guilt and they can never get it off their chests and they hold onto things too long."

Clearmyguilt.com is a new online social community where people can post their deepest, darkest and anonymous confessions and their peers tell them whether they should be absolved.

"It's not going to hurt their reputation, their friends not are going to find out."

Like another popular social media site, Clearmyguilt.com was started up by a couple of college kids and was intended to be an experiment. Now they get 800 hits a day and 100 submitted posts.

Ruben realizes they're opening themselves up for the downright criminal ones.

"Any posts that are dealing with suicide, murder, rape, we wouldn't want any of those on our site."

While he says they haven't had to, Ruben and his partners have agrees to go to the cops if the posts get to descriptive, detailed, or just plain dangerous.

But Ruben says they get plenty of funny confessions which they hope to be the backbone of the site.

One thing's for sure, they're getting enough quirky confessions to keep a potentially lucrative thing going.

"Our social lives absolutely have gone down the drain because of it but it's 100 percent worth it."

Ruben says they want to wait a little longer before they start selling advertising.

When asked if he was going to be able to keep up with school and the site, he said if he dropped out he'd feel guilty
