Woman Disfigured In Meth Explosion Can't Quit Her Habit, Arrested For Cooking Drug Again

Even after having her face melted off after an illegal meth lab exploded, a Florida woman has been busted again for manufacturing the drug, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Sheriff's deputies arrived at a trailer on Monday and were shocked to find severely disfigured Heather Raybon there with another man, both surrounded by drug paraphernalia in the midst of a working meth lab, reported Fox10TV.com.

The 31-year-old had been permanently scarred when a drug den blew up in 2004 but even with her face left a distorted, melted mask she couldn't keep away from the addictive drug.


In the latest incident, narcotic detectives found materials and ingredients to cook up crystal meth, along with 13 grams of meth powder and 32 grams of meth oil. There was such a strong risk of explosion from the one-pot lab that police called the fire department to safely neutralize it.
Raybon and William Hindall, who was also at the trailer in Milton, Florida, were both arrested for production of methamphetamine, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of felony drug equipment and possession of listed chemicals to manufacture meth, and are being held on a $35,000 [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]bond[/COLOR][/COLOR].
Police had originally turned up at the seedy location looking for fugitive Brian Mauldin, and there remains a warrant out for his arrest for the possession of listed chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine.


Raybon, who has a string of former drug offences and traffic violations on her record, has undergone numerous facial surgeries over the past seven years to rebuild her melted face.

I'd have to check into FL's laws about this but in NC if you show up in the ER after an accident, most hospitals have funds set aside to cover expenses should they decide to do so (It's per an absolute necessity basis [ex: ectopic pregnancies, cancer patients with a hemmorhagic disorder, ect.]). It's as simple as a nod yes from a physician, and then we (the nursing staff) are required to initiate the funding paperwork.
In this melted spoon's case, the jokespital I work for would do so--I don't doubt it one bit. Anyhow, after the initial payment is drafted from these funds from the hospital the state will start picking up any further costs incurred with the continuance of care.
She could have also picked up state emergency Medicaid if something crucial that affects her daily living routine was destroyed, like if her vision or hearing was impaired after the explosion. I also don't doubt that one bit. If you want to know why certain fools like this get medical care yet dying cancer patients can't, work in an ER for a few nights. You'll quickly find your answer. The whole system is fucked.

Agreed. There is no way I'd ever stop doing meth if that happened to my face. I'm not even particularly all that vain, I just would have to keep doing it until it took me out. I can't imagine the physical pain of having your face melt off and the emotional pain of having to walk around like that everyday. Fuck. And I don't want to get out of bed some mornings. Imma get up singing tomorrow.

Quitting meth on its own is incredibly difficult. It still blows me a way that most of the crowd I used to use with 6 years ago are still running and gunning, dead or in jail.
