Lock threads instead of deleting them?

It really makes me mad when thread get deleted.     I know some are deleted for being crap and you mods are under pressure from families etc but as has been said many a time before (and not by me until now) on this site, whatever happened to free speech?

Instead of deleting threads, why can't you just lock them so that people can still read what has gone on, but no-one can add anything more.  I've seen a few threads with whinging friends/family that don't get pulled, whilst others are gone before you can blink.  What's going on?

Because Art's panties are continually in a knot - over something inconsistent that he said - but none the less, in a knot.
Or were they Beque's panties, that Art was wearing?
    Oh, nevermind.

I think the lady Beque one was deleted because it was getting pretty heated. lots of people were whining and crying.

She died of alcohol OD, her husband was on here discussing/arguing about it. He gave some pretty good insight to into her life.  Last night Only1lf started bitching about how none of us understood the bond unless we were married, blah blah blah and demanded the thread be locked.

Okay.  I remember that their wedding pictures were posted.  He was older than her.  She had big-time emotional problems.  He then got with a somewhat younger woman, who also posted on the thread, and who had come to his rescue after he became suicidal.

Seems like she died not so much from suffocating in the pillows, but from a deadly combination of pills.

    ... that's all I know.   :2wave:
