That does look good.  But I'm going to wait for that one on dvd.   I really want to see the new Pacino De Niro flick, but I'm afraid it may fall short.

Apparently not so much.  You're from Philly right?   I was there a couple months ago, and we were walking through a neighborhood  where the fence/walls were mosaics of glass and lots of other things, and there was an old abandoned theatre there that looked so gorgeous.  I can't remember what it was called.

Common misunderstanding because of another MDS user.

I'm from the Poconos. Philly is a  beautiful city, and someone should totally get that place running again, but not change much about it. I would love to see films in a place like that

All my friends saw it when I was at work and hated it.  In fact, they came back in a grumpy mood cos they disliked it.

I'll be frank, I think woody Allen hasn't made a good moving in twenty years.  And I'm tired of him making the same characters, and manipulating everything to produce his sexual fantasy of the world.  This is a guy who was having sex with his daughter at 15. I don't care if she's adopted or if he done her right by marrying her.  He took care of her as a baby and then fucked her.  That's disgusting, and I have no respect for him.  I can't believe people still boycott Roman Polanski over a rape charge where the girl confessed she lied and manipulated him, but no one has any issue with Allen.

You slept with mike so he would ban me. change your sig..the pretentious look how hipster face is so old ooh you like guys with glasses..ooooh

For the most part I agree with you, he's not making Annie hall, or Hannah and her sisters. every now and then a good one slips through...I enjoyed match point, hell to some level I even enjoyed Deconstructing Harry. I totally agree, that the main male character in most of his movies is him. Like I said, As a human bieng he fails.

As for polanski, well the guy did win the best director oscar, so boycott seems a little harsh. I feel the same about him though. If you were fooled and manipulated why run? There was an exellent Doc on HBO not long ago about him and that whole scene. real good, but it didn't really paint him as a o.k guy. more of a pervert.

Believe me I have issues with all of them, to include Michael jackson. Man makes me sick, but I'll be damned if thriller and you wanna be startin' something doesn't get me moving

because polanski was not an american citizen and watch the nazis take his family to their death.  That makes you a little nervous about authorities.  The courts were entirely uninterested in hearing the girl recant her story.  She admitted that the film studios had set her up, that she told him she was 19, etc. And yet the US has never dropped charges?  So yeah, I think he's not unjustified feeling persecuted.  Not to mention, every time he makes a film, it is accompanied by the rape allegation in the news, whereas no one ever mentioned the woody allen thing.

All your doing is preaching to the choir. Polanski has made so garbage too *ahem* 9th gate. once again as human being I don't care for either one. No matter what happened with that girl, there is a level of responsibility with a man, It was a jack Nicholson party, lots off coke. The guy just probably had a lot of heat around him from the get go, with sharon tate and all.

He may have been afraid that is true, given his childhood. But damn he made a movie about it, and won the oscar, Come back like a man and just deal with what happens. I bet all charges get dropped.

and just to be fair, one a level of creepiness, woody allen always wins. But both guys make or made exellent movies, and that was my point from the begining. I will still never forget the first time I saw rosemary's baby. 16 years old, and it was on at noon with the sun shining. still scared the shit out of me

No kidding. About the only time I have ever heard the Woody Allen thing come up was on an episode of  Will & Grace where Karen and Jack found Soon Yee's phone bill and decided to prank call  her. haha. But I find it almost offensive that his films are touted with "genius" and Polanski (like Charlie didn't fuck his head up enough, haha) films are always said right along side someone dredging up the old bullshit. And actually that seems to be the only way you hear about Polanski's work these days.

The Fearless Vampire Killers is one of my faves of all time.  When he holds the cross up and the vampire goes "Oy vey have you got the wrong vampire."

People forget that initially Polanski was treated as a suspect in the Manson murders. He always ends up on the shit end of the stick, no wonder he thinks America is shitty.

Yeah, I don't think I'd be having happy thoughts toward the US either. Hmm maybe he should team up with Woody maybe then the crap would die down.

Everyone forgets about the way he was treated during the Manson situation. Because that has been glamorized through out the years and so much of what really happened has been played down to play up the fantasy parts.

I think I saw that years ago before I joined the Military. Might have been stoned back then, cos I can't remember a whole lot. Isn't he a serial killer that finds victims on the Internet or something like that?

I am looking for something with a decent writer (good story line) and a decent director something that will make us think, nothing stupid. I like dark humor but now a day I have not been impressed with much. It has been a goo year since I have been to the movies and I was going to go on Saturday...
