I rented all 5 Harry Potter movies.
The fourth one (The Goblet of Fire) was the best in my opinion.
man I went all these years without seeing one and then I gave in.

I liked the prisoner of Azkaban best, not just because of Gary Oldman.  I thought the ending of Goblet of Fire kind of sucked, like one minute they're all crying and the next they're like 'zomg have a good summer?'

hahaha okay I see where you are coming from there.
I liked them all for different reasons, but the Goblet of Fire entertained me the most.

I haven't seen all of them yet, but I liked the first two.  I really think I should read them all first.

Yeah, the books help explain a lot of stuff, to be honest.  I saw Prisoner of Azkaban because I loved the director and Oldman, without reading the book, and I liked it, but I tracked it a lot better after reading the book.

And I was totally disdainful of the books until I started reading them, and then it was like crack.

I love Oldman, too.  I also love Alan Rickman and Richard Harris which is why I started watching them in the first place.  Then, I realized the stories were great and am going to try and pick up as many of the books as I can this weekend.

She's not the most elegant wordsmith, but she has a good story and good characters, which is more than I can say about a lot of stuff coming out nowadays.

That's the truth.  Books, movies - a lot of it is pure crap.  It's nice to see something original and creative come out for a change.  I've gotten to the point where most of the films I watch now are all pre-1990.  I'm talking 50's and 60's, too.  I just watched a great film with Jack Lemmon called "The Apartment."  I think it may have been Shirley Maclaine's first role.

I could go on and on about how everything seems to be dumbed down nowadays but I won't.

There are great things that come out but the truth is, they've always been bogged down in shit.  I minored in pop culture studies in college and I can say this: for every year where one really classic, timeless movie came out, there were hundreds, if not thousands, of terrible ones to accompany them that faded into oblivion.  This has been true since the dawn of the printing press.

I believe it.  For every film like "Tideland" - which is one of my current favorites and a great book, too - there are 100 films like "Jackass" and "Epic Movie."  It just seems to me that there's more and more shit nowadays.  Maybe it's because I'm actually living through it and don't have the same perspective on previous decades because I wasn't there.

Has anyone seen the previews to the House Bunny?
I can't believe one of the girls is Rumer Willis!
She has a makeover with long blonde hair and stuff...
I barely recognized her.

I want to see Step Brothersss!

and we are going to float the river this weekend in San Antonio, so I am not going to get to see it til Sunday.
Hate you all!

IMO one of the best movies I've ever seen.

I saw the dark knight last night (12:01 so technically this morning) AWESOME

Before the movie someone dressed as (crappy) joker whipped out a beach ball and the entire theater passed it around until it broke!

I thought they overdid two-face a bit, like... people need to blink... thats all lol

Finally someone else that's seen it so I can talk about it.  I'll just state that there might be semi spoilers from this point so stop reading.  Ok.  Did you stop?  Last warning.

I seriously thought Gordon had died so when he came back the entire theater went nuts and it almost brought a tear to my eye.  Oldman does such a great job as Gordon.  Everyone played their role perfectly.  I enjoyed the Joker so much.

I was afraid the movie wouldn't live up to the hype I built up in my mind, but it totally did.
