They said he couldn't make it and his Father was trying to get to the hospital in time to be with him to let him go. But they didn't make it to the hospital on time. Police think it was intentional no skid marks. Josh died at 12:22 Thank you everyone for your prayers. . so sad no one should have this happen. Can't believe someone just left him there. He lost to muchblood...................REST IN PEACE JOSH GATLIN :(

Police are investigating the death of a 21-year-old man found Saturday in the 100 block of January Lane.

Joshua Adam Gatlin Joshua Adam Gatlin, who died from injuries in what authorities are investigating as a fatal hit-and-run, was found injured in the street of a residential area at about 6 a.m. Saturday, said Ponder Police Chief Robert Genova.

Gatlin was taken by helicopter to a Fort Worth hospital, where he later died.

Gatlin, a Ponder resident, may have been on foot when he was struck, Genova said. Authorities are not exactly sure when the accident occurred.

According to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website, Gatlin was killed by blunt force trauma caused by a motor vehicle-pedestrian collision.

Genova said there have been few leads on what may have occurred. The Denton County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers are assisting Ponder police in the investigation.

“We’re short of leads. We would certainly solicit any information,” Genova said.“We are examining all leads. We have some that we’ve followed up on, but nothing has produced anything substantial so far.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ponder Police Department, Denton County Crime Stoppers or the sheriff’s Office.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will be at Eakins Cemetery.

Gatlin is survived by his parents, Minnie and Rowdy Hennegan of Ponder and Joe and Cathy Gatlin of Briscoe; a daughter, Jessie Ann Gatlin of Ponder; five sisters; and six brothers.

If that video on his fb wall was really taken by him, I can see that being an explanation right there. That car was borders out of control many times.

His mom said in another interview that him to be walking on the side of the road was very uncharacteristic.
Perhaps he was filming his "friend", his friend lost control, hit him, then ran.
