Chris Sekul died June 11, 2011 at home in Jackson, MS.
Wright & Ferguson is handling funeral arrangements Visitation will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. at St. Richard Catholic Church 1242 Lynnwood Dr. Jackson, MS, followed by a funeral Mass at 11A.M.
Burial will be at Parkway, Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS after Mass.
Chris grew up in Jackson, MS and graduated from Jackson Academy. He later went on to participate in two sessions of NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) in Wyoming.
Chris loved music and enjoyed martial arts, golf and scuba diving. Chis was known for his love of animals and contributed to the ASPCA and the Humane Society. He enjoyed working with and touring as a road manager for the band Galactic from New Orleans, LA.
Chris graduated for Montana State University, earning a B.A. degree in Japanese Studies/ History and Literature. Recently, he volunteered to be a docent at the Mississippi Museum of Art this spring for the "Orient Expressed" exposition.He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents William T. Neely, Sr. and Louise Sledge Neely and paternal grandparents Peter and Margaret Sekul from Biloxi, MS
Chris is survived by his mother Toni Neely Sekul and father Ronald Sekul (wife Paula) and sisters Elizabeth and Olivia Sekul and many aunts uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ASPCA or Humane Society of your choice or St Jude Children's Hospital.
