Well, Meghan was fired from her job after posting that.

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ A Manhattan woman says she was fired and has received death threats after posting comments on Facebook that criticized the military.

Meagan May posted a comment in September that she did not consider the military heroic and criticizing military personnel for expecting discounts at businesses.

May told WIBW (http://bit.ly/15wWl2G ) she posted the comments because she believes soldiers receive too much special treatment. She said her employer, , Carmike Cinemas in Manhattan, fired her after she posted the comment.

Carmike also posted on May's page that her comments did not reflect the attitude of the company. Carmike officials said they fully support and honor military personnel.

May says she isn't backing down because she thinks she should be able to post whatever she believes on Facebook.

BTW...the comments on her facebook are horrible. I don't understand why she hasn't made her site private.
I am seriously pleased with these responses. These guys rule.

    From that article's comments:

    Arthur -

Funny...I spent 20 years in the Marines, mostly in Force Recon, and never considered myself "heroic". Spent a lot of time in faraway lands getting shot at. I knew some truly heroic military personnel, but the vast bulk are normal people like you and me. We old guys never had people fawn all over us...we didn't expect it then, and don't expect it now.

I'm not sure that I don't somewhat agree with her comments...just because a person is in the military, or is a policeman, or a fireman, does not automatically make them a "hero". That cheapens the recognition of TRUE heros, like the Medal of Honor recipient whose story was here last week.

Besides, she is entitled to her opinion. The business was probably with their rights to discharge her, but it is petty and arrogant on their part. Serves to teach people a lesson on being careful on social media posting.

    And another:

    JustanoldJarhead -

Marine vet here also, Arthur. I never have, nor ever will, consider myself a hero. I just did what I had to do. It was my and all my brothers' duty.
BUT, coming from an era when vets were spit on when returning from doing their duty in those far-away lands, I see recognition for service is as a good thing over-all. Not saying that each and every one is a hero, but appreciating what they do/have done for us. A beneficial side-effect of this is to hopefully help inject a little patriotism and respect in our society.

Just as it is this person's right to voice her opinion, it is also the business owner's right to employ those individuals that best best represent his ideals.

I feel empathy for this person losing her job, but she excercised her God-given right to free speech and those actions had repurcussions, so now it's time for her to take responsibility for her actions.

100% agree with that. I'm sure your son is great Queens (and thank him for his service for me), BUT I have met some shitty marines who deserve no praise whatsoever. One in particular who roofied me one night.

Not my son. My youngest daughter is the Marine. I agree I have seen some sorry pieces of shit calling themselves Marines. But there are horrible nasty people in all walks of life.

Sorry for your awful experience. I have warned my daughter over and over that just because she is on a military base, not to let her guard down or get a false sense of security.

I think that's what causes this anti-soldier backlash. They're people, just like anyone else, that they're doing a job. That doesn't make them infallible. But to some people that means you hate the troops, and it's not that at all.

Hell, I took the ASVAB and picked an MOS, but I bailed on signing in cause it was when we were invading Iraq, and that shit isn't what I signed up for, and since I wasn't technically signed up yet, I had a choice.

That roofie thing is fucking horrible BTW. Obviously you're not judging all by the actions of a few, but yea, some people in a certain profession are fucking horrible. Not breaking news.

OK, so we're all in agreement here.

I really respect the reactions that those guys had. Death threats? That's ridiculous. Pretty much now anyone that disagrees with you you want dead? Ugh.

For the record, I love the Dixie Chicks for standing against their typical fan base to voice their opinion. Those bitches had balls.

And I like the song that came out of it:

The documentary....Shut Up And Sing, I think it was called. That was crazy. And sitting with the FBI and looking at a pic of a suspect, Natalie says one of the guys sending death threats was actually kinda cute. My kinda gal.

Truthfully, I am more afraid for her now than I have ever been. She is in MOS for Meteorology/Oceanography and at the top of her class. She is also ahead of many of the males physically and it has been pointed out by her superiors on many occasions in PT to some of the males." Are you going to let this little girl whip your ass?" or "Are you gonna let this little girl out run you?" This makes her a prime target to some to take her down a few notches.

My daughter is by no means butchy or manly either, she is an extremely attractive girl with big blue eyes. I recently got her disc that was made in boot camp of her on the firing range. It was hard to know it was her until I looked at the hands. She has very feminine dainty little lady hands that were holding this big ass machine gun.

I am very afraid for her...

Try not to worry so much about her, queen. I know many women who have a stronger heart than men. The guts and brawn has to come from the inside.

Edited to add: I'm small, but I've taken down a dude or two who needed to be pulled off their high horse.

    I'm still confused though.
    Is she getting deployed?

No Ron. Gawd wtf is wrong with your reading today....

She's worried about her daughter being targeted by her own. Females who "do well" in military positions, often find a lot of flack from lesser males who are insecure and jealous.

I told her when she left for MOS to have a thick skin because I knew that some men would feel threatened. And I told her that she should get used to being called a butch, lesbo, or whatever because a lot of men automatically jump to that when a woman shows any intellect or physical ability (any lesbians out there should consider that a compliment). She told me she wasn't there to make friends so they could go fuck themselves if they were that insecure (definitely my child..lmao)

From my understanding she won't be deployed until she is finished with her job training/MOS.

I hear this all the time on the FD. I just know how to conserve my energy when I know we are training for something physical or agility tests. We have confined space training coming up. I expect to hear it when I'm dragging the 6'2" 250lb dude out to safety.

This too. Even though I AM a lesbian not everyone knows that. I don't "look" like the stereotype.

On Sept. 10, the Reno Gazette-Journal published the obituary of Marianne Theresa John*son-Reddick, who passed away at age 78 in Reno, Nevada. But this was not your typical fond remembrance for a loved one.

It was penned by her daughter, Katherine Reddick, who described a childhood of abuse and neglect. Reddick and her siblings were often in and out of foster homes, and her mother allegedly ran an escort service in Nevada. They?d been estranged for three decades. Reddick now works for the Pflugerville Independent School District in Texas.

After it went viral, her brother, Patrick, told the Associated Press that the purpose of the obit was "to bring awareness to child abuse ... shame child abuse overall." He and his sister both testified in the Nevada Legislature in 1987 on a bill regarding termination of parental rights.

The paper has since run a correction to the obit, which ran online and in print. The date of death was Aug. 30, not Sept. 30. They also pulled the listing from the Web indefinitely, as it was a paid placement to their self-service online portal. In a note to readers, the paper's publisher, John Maher, stated, "We?ve removed the online listing of this obituary as we continue our review of the circumstances surrounding its placement. Once we?ve completed our review, we?ll determine what, if any, further actions are required."

Here is the full text, pre-correction:

Marianne Theresa Johnson-Reddick born Jan 4, 1935 and died alone on Sept. 30, 2013. She is survived by her 6 of 8 children whom she spent her lifetime torturing in every way possible. While she neglected and abused her small children, she refused to allow anyone else to care or show compassion towards them. When they became adults she stalked and tortured anyone they dared to love. Everyone she met, adult or child was tortured by her cruelty and exposure to violence, criminal activity, vulgarity, and hatred of the gentle or kind human spirit.

On behalf of her children whom she so abrasively exposed to her evil and violent life, we celebrate her passing from this earth and hope she lives in the after-life reliving each gesture of violence, cruelty, and shame that she delivered on her children. Her surviving children will now live the rest of their lives with the peace of knowing their nightmare finally has some form of closure.

Most of us have found peace in helping those who have been exposed to child abuse and hope this message of her final passing can revive our message that abusing children is unforgiveable, shameless, and should not be tolerated in a ?humane society?. Our greatest wish now, is to stimulate a national movement that mandates a purposeful and dedicated war against child abuse in the United States of America.

I heard about that. I forget where. If all of that is true, then I'm glad they did this. She should be remembered for who she was. Shame on the paper for pulling it.

2 year old gives birth to own twin
A 2-year-old in China is reported to have "given birth" to the undeveloped fetus of his twin.

Xiao Feng, of Huaxi, was taken to the hospital after his parents noticed he had a bloated stomach and was having trouble breathing, Fox News reported Monday.

Doctors found that Feng was carrying an undeveloped fetus inside his stomach, and removed it through emergency surgery, according to Inquisitr's translation of newscast from a China Central Television, a state-run media outlet.

The fetus, doctors say, was Feng's twin. Identical twins occur when a fertilized egg splits in two. Conjoined twins occur when a fertilized egg begins to split, but fails to do so completely. In Feng's case, the fetus was his conjoined twin that had been absorbed into his body inside the womb.

Doctors surgically removed the fetus, noting that Feng would have died if the parasitic twin hadn't been removed.
The dead fetus was about 10 inches wide and had a fully-formed spine and limbs.

Is this case too bizarre to be believed? Maybe, but the same thing happened last year in Peru, when a three-year-old boy was found to be carrying his parasitic twin brother inside of him, according to CBS News.

In 2008, there was a similar case involving 9-year-old in Greece. The girl was diagnosed with a tumor that turned out to be concealing the undeveloped embryo of her parasitic twin, Medical News Today reported.
