The complaint notes that the girl, who turned 15 last month, has a tattoo of a cross inked on her neck.
The day after her phone was taken, the girl sent a message from her Twitter account to a friend about the incident. The girl, who apparently had traveled to Europe, seemed unconcerned in the May 22 tweet about the iPhone seizure: “the school took my phone, long story and im in Ireland lmaoooooo.” (1 page)

A Florida man has been jailed for allegedly strangling his mother’s puppy, cutting the animal in pieces, and cooking its ribs in a pot on the stove.
According to Tampa cops, Thomas Elliot Huggins, 25, killed the puppy, named “Bandit,” early yesterday morning and then “cut up the dog into quarters and stored it in the freezer for future meals.”
After a family member learned about the dog’s killing, police were summoned last night to the Huggins home, where officers “found the dog’s ribs cooked in a pot on the stove” and the pet’s head in the garbage. Huggins told cops that he had actually consumed part of the animal.
According to a Tampa Police Department report, Huggins’s mother Margie showed one cop “a pair of full ribs on the stove that appeared to be fully cooked,” as well as “the quartered parts of her dog that were stored in the freezer.” Huggins’s sister told the patrolman that her brother “has not been right” for years, and “goes on and on about religion and the lord telling him to do things.”
Huggins told the cop that he “choked the dog with his bare hands” after the pet “began to be aggressive towards him.” He then described how he dismembered “Bandit” with a steak knife. Huggins explained that he “went about his day,” and then, around 6 PM, “put the ribs in a pot and cooked them on the stove… Mr. Huggins advised that he did indeed eat some of the rib meat.”
Claiming that he did not think his actions were wrong, Huggins told police that he “learned how to clean an animal from his mom as they have done it in the past with squirrels and rabbits.”
Seen in the above mug shot, Huggins was arrested on a felony cruelty to animals charge. He was subsequently booked into the Hillsborough County jail, where he is being held in lieu of $2000 bond.

Woman Arrested For Battery After Kissing Officer on Nose

A Florida woman was arrested for battery of an officer after kissing him on the nose against his will, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office said.
Peggy Hill, 62, was arrested on Saturday when authorities were called to her house for a disturbance, according to a sheriff's office arrest report.
When deputies arrived, they spoke to a neighbor who said he had an ongoing dispute with Hill, the report said. He also said she took a piece of fencing from his property.
Hill invited the officers on her property and denied taking the piece of fencing. She said something was laying up against her fence, so she removed it.
Authorities said she was tampering with the neighbor and that is a felony because of the pending case against her for livestock theft, which she allegedly stole from her neighbor.
When officers were speaking to her, she approached one and kissed him on the nose against his will, the report said. He wiped off the saliva and attempted to arrest her, the report said.
Hill was arrested for battery of an officer and when en route to the jail, she fell and hit her head. Officers took her to the hospital and she was cleared, the report said.
After being arrested, Hill told authorities she had about three glasses of wine before they arrived. She also said the thought just popped into her head to kiss the officer on the nose, so she did, the report said.
Hill is still in jail with a $5,000 bond, according to online jail records.

A woman has spoken of her terror at discovering that she harboured flesh-eating maggots inside her ear.
When Rochelle Harris, 27, from Derby, returned from the holiday of a lifetime in Peru, she thought little of the headaches that she had started to develop on the flight back to the UK. But within hours she had developed excruciating shooting pains down one side of her face and had started to hear strange scratching sounds in her head. The next morning she woke to a pillow soaked with fluid from her ear.
Rochelle's ordeal features in a new Discovery Channel documentary, called 'Bugs, Bites and Parasites' that follows the work of specialists who are faced with patients exhibiting a variety of mysterious symptoms - more often than not from people who have travelled abroad.
On her arrival back in the UK, Rochelle became increasingly concerned there may be something seriously wrong, so she visited her local Accident and Emergency department at the Royal Derby Hospital.
Initially doctors weren't concerned by her symptoms and presumed that they had developed because of a minor ear infection or an infected mosquito bite.
She was referred to the ear nose and throat (ENT) team for further investigation to rule out a more sinister problem, however. Rochelle said that as her ear was being examined, the ENT specialist went silent. The doctor had found a small hole in the ear canal which needed further investigation but would not explain what the problem was. After almost an hour of silent examination Rochelle, and her mother who had accompanied her, asked if they were any closer to a diagnosis. She said: 'My Mum asked her "Can you see what it is?" and the doctor said "If you don't mind I'd prefer to speak to the registrar before I tell you anything".
'My Mum said "Please tell us" and that's when the doctor said "You've got maggots in your ear". I burst into tears instantly.' Doctors tried to get the maggots out but the more medics delved into her ear, the more the larvae retreated into Rochelle's head. 'I was very scared - I wondered if they were in my brain. I thought to myself "This could be very, very serious."'
Doctors ordered an emergency brain scan to find out if any damage had been done by the maggots, as well as to determine how many there were and where they were hiding. There was a risk that they were migrating through her head. If one reached her brain it could cause meningitis, fatal bleeding and if one ate through her facial nerve she might be left facially paralysed.
Luckily, the scan showed that no damage had been done to Rochelle's ear drum, blood vessels or facial nerve.
But they did discover that the maggots had chewed a 12mm hole into a ear canal.Doctors then tried to drown them by flooding the ear canal with olive oil. 'I had to wait overnight to see if the treatment worked,' said Rochelle. 'It was longest few hours of my life. 'I just wanted them out of me and now I knew what was causing the sensations and sounds it made it all the worse.'
The next day doctors checked her ear and astonishingly the maggots were still alive. They managed to remove two, but doctors were concerned there might be one more left inside her. Rochelle was sedated and surgeons explored her ear using a microscope and speculum. They were shocked by what they found. As they pushed further inside the ear, they found what they described as a 'writhing mass of maggots'. The two of maggots that had been extracted were not alone - further examination revealed Rochelle was in fact hosting a family of eight large maggots.
The maggots were immediately sent to a lab for analysis where it was discovered that that a New World Army Screw Worm Fly had laid eggs inside her ear.
Rochelle said she remembered walking through a swarm of flies when in Peru and a fly had got inside her ear. But once she had shooed it away she thought nothing more of it. Since her traumatic encounter, Rochelle has suffered no long-term problems and she says that there has been a positive side-effect of having maggots living in her head.
She said: 'I'm no longer as squeamish as I was about bugs - how can you be when they've been inside your head?'

IERRA VISTA — Authorities are awaiting results of an autopsy report on the death of a man found with a backpack containing two state-protected rattlesnakes.
The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office says 57-year-old Daniel Genaro’s body was found in rugged terrain near Parker Canyon Lake.
The Sierra Vista Herald reports that the two ridgenosed rattlesnakes in the backpack were dead when Genaro’s body was found Saturday. The snake is the state reptile of Arizona.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Carol Capas says the office will wait for autopsy results before determining whether further investigation is needed.
Capas says Genaro’s family had reported him missing Friday and that he had a history of medical issues.
Arizona Game and Fish Department spokesman Mark Hart says trade in the snakes is illegal but that there is some poaching.

SANTA CLARITA - Authorities in Southern California are trying to get to the bottom of an ad on Craigslist that offered a baby "free of charge," CBS Los Angeles reported.
The advertisement was posted on the classified website Thursday night, according to the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's station.
According to CBS Los Angeles, a concerned citizen notified the station about the ad, which said, "Just can't take it anymore. Need to let her go. Her cost is just too much for me and my girlfriend. She's only eight months old, shots are up to date. To a loving home. Call Joshua."
"We're trying to determine who put the ad on, and whether or not there's any validity to the content of the ad," said Sgt. Jeff Curran.
CBS Los Angeles called the number listed on the post, which is now inactive, but it went straight to voicemail.
Detectives said if the situation is a hoax, the person responsible could face misdemeanor harassment charges.
If it's a legitimate ad, the culprit could be charged with child neglect.
"If it is a hoax, somebody thought it was funny when they did it, but we don't consider it funny in any way," said Curran.

Case of Maryland teacher accused of having sex with family dog will go to trial
On July 10, 2013, a judge determined that Maryland teacher, Stephanie Mikles, 46, will stand trial for bestiality, despite her attorney?s objections, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Judge Robert Dugan dismissed attorney Leslie Gladstone?s argument that the charge of unnatural or perverted practice is too vague making it unconstitutional. The judge also dismissed a motion asking evidence be suppressed in the case.
Mikles is accused of engaging in a number of sex acts with the family dog for about 30 days in August 2008.
She was arrested following a search of her home by child advocacy officers of Harford County following allegations of a boy who claimed he had sex with Mikles, Assistant State?s Attorney Lisa Marts told the Sun. Charges have not been filed regarding that claim.
During the search, the agency reportedly found a CD containing 12 photos of Mikles having sex with the dog.
Mikles denies the charge, and is currently on administrative leave without pay from her job with the Harford County School District pending the outcome of the matter.
According to the Sun, she had been employed as a behavioral specialist for the school district, working with special education teachers who instruct students with disabilities.
If found guilty of the charge, she could serve up to 10 years in prison and could be ordered to pay as much as $1,000 in fines.
Mikles was released from jail on $5,000 bond shortly after her arrest.
In May, ABC 2 reported the dog was still living with the family.

See this is what gets me. It's one thing to be a pervert. But why take pics? This is my biggest problem with the whole weiner debacle. The whole pics or it didn't happen thing cuts both ways. You can plausibly deny just about anything, but once you immortalize your personal business? You're toast.
