Cook County, Ill., Sheriff’s Police seized a four-foot American alligator Thursday from a south suburban man who says he kept the animal as a pet to attract women.
Dewayne Yarbrough, 43, of the 800 block of East 11th Place in Ford Heights, was charged with possession of a dangerous animal. Yarbrough said he purchased the alligator five years ago in Indiana for $200.
To keep the alligator's size down, Yarbrough housed the animal in a small fish tank and only fed it a meal of 10 live mice once a month.
Female American alligators average about eight feet long, males around 12 feet. It is unknown whether the gator was male or female.
Story: Gator chomps on Fla. deputy's cruiser
Police received a tip that Yarbrough was keeping the alligator in confined conditions at his home. The alligator was removed by Cook County Animal Control and taken to the Animal Welfare League in Chicago Ridge. It will later be turned over to the Chicago Herpetological Society.
Yarbrough is due in court July 5 in Markham.

Louisiana Man Gets Life for Marijuana
It was not the first time Cornell Hood II had gotten in trouble with the law.
He had previously just gotten off probation after three marijuana convictions in New Orleans.

However, he met a much harsher punishment after moving to St. Tammany Parish. A single conviction on the North shore sentenced the 35-year-old man to life in prison, according to the Times-Picayune.
On Thursday in his Covington courtroom, State Judge Raymond S. Childress was able to sentence Hood to life in prison under Louisiana’s repeat-offender law. Court records reveal that on a jury in February, Hood was found guilty of possessing and distributing marijuana from his home in Slidell.
Hood had just moved from eastern New Orleans, to the Slidell area, after admitting on December 18, 2009, in Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, to possession with intent to distribute marijuana. For that convicted charge, he received a prison sentence and five years of probation, which was exactly the same penalty he got in 2005 for his first charge.

When Hood made the move to Slidell and switched homes, he also requested for a new probation officer. Just as Hood requested, a new probation officer was assigned to him, and that’s when the officer, Dustin Munlin, drove to Hood’s new home for a regular visit on September 27, 2010.
Not surprisingly, Munlin found almost two pounds of pot scattered around the house, according to court records. Munlin instantly told Sheriff’s Office deputies. Hood was then arrested.

Later, prosecutors charged Hood with one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, the exact charges Hood has previously faced.
Hood’s trial only lasted one day. The evidence presented against him consisted of a digital scale and about a dozen bags containing marijuana, along with $1,600 in cash and a student-loan application with Hood’s name on it.
The Times-Picayune revealed it only took jurors less than two hours to deliberate before convicting Hood of a reduced charge, which normally wouldn’t consist of more than fifteen years on imprisonment. However, Assistant District Attorney Nick Noriea, Jr. upped the ante when he used Hood’s past convictions to argue Hood was a career criminal, worthy of an even worse punishment.

Drug criminals in Louisiana are subject to life imprisonment after they have been convicted three or more times of a crime that exceed a sentence of ten years, as Hood had been.

Ex-Inmate To Sue Broward Sheriff’s Office Over Extended Erection

By Willard Shepard and Todd Wright

A former Broward inmate claims he became impotent after jail nurses gave him the wrong medication, making him endure a painful almost four-day erection.
The man, who didn't want to be named, initially sued the company that provided the nurses to the Broward jail in 2008 and settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.
He said he will file another lawsuit in state court in the coming days, and this time he will sue the sheriff's office for damages. He claims they made jokes about his condition instead of providing help.
My life has never been the same," he said. "I can't have a normal relationship with a woman. I walk like a man and talk like a man, but I am not a man in other ways."
The man was in jail from August 2005 to March 2006 after being accused of violating a restraining order, a charge that was later dropped.
While in jail, he was waiting to receive his evening medicine for hypertension when a nurse and guard handed him Thorazine, a drug usually administered to treat schizophrenia. Possible side effects include a painful erection.
The initial lawsuit claims he told the nurse and the guard it wasn't the right medication for him, but they ordered him to take the pills. The pills were actually intended for another inmate with the same last name.
When he woke up the next morning, the man claims he had a painful erection and told the guards something was wrong. When he showed them his problem, the guards laughed, the lawsuit said.
A nurse came by again that morning and told him to take another set of the pills despite his uncomfortable condition. He complained about the side effect for days and asked for medical help, but was ignored by jail deputies and nurses, the lawsuit claimed.
He walked around with the erection for almost four days before he was finally taken to the infirmary, where he had surgery for the problem. But he's still impotent.
BSO declined to comment on the case Thursday, but Sheriff Al Lamberti recently told the Broward Bulldog, a courthouse blog, that he does not plan on settling.
“We don’t think we did anything wrong," Lamberti said.

Porn found in bin Laden hideout, officials say

    NBC News and news services
    updated 5/13/2011 4:53:51 PM ET 2011-05-13T20:53:51
WASHINGTON A stash of pornography was found in the hideout of Osama bin Laden by the U.S. commandos who killed him, current and former U.S. officials said on Friday.
The pornography recovered in bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, consists of modern, electronically recorded video and is fairly extensive, according to the officials, who discussed the discovery with Reuters on condition of anonymity.
The officials said they were not yet sure precisely where in the compound the pornography was discovered or who had been viewing it. Specifically, the officials said they did not know if bin Laden himself had acquired or viewed the materials.
Reports from Abbottabad have said that bin Laden's compound was cut off from the Internet or other hard-wired communications networks. It is unclear how compound residents would have acquired the pornography.
But a video released by the Obama administration confiscated from the compound showed bin Laden watching pictures of himself on a TV screen, indicating that the compound was equipped with video playback equipment.
    Thumb drives
Materials carted away from the compound by the U.S. commandos included digital thumb drives, which U.S. officials believe may have been a principal means by which couriers carried electronic messages to and from the late al-Qaida leader.
Three other U.S. officials familiar with evidence gathered during investigations of other Islamic militants said the discovery of pornography is not uncommon in such cases.
The U.S. has found so much pornography in the possession of al-Qaida operatives during previous raids that it spurred investigations into whether porn photos were being used to send coded messages, a former U.S. counterterrorism official told NBC News.
At one point, U.S. officials had pursued a probe into whether al-Qaida was using special software that would allow the email transmission of porn photos implanted with hidden messages that could be deciphered by recipients with the right code. "We thought this was the way that messages were being transmitted," said the official.
The official commented about the al-Qaida use of porn in the wake of the Reuters report of porn found in bin Laden's compound. A U.S. official has confirmed the report to NBC News, but emphasized that U.S. officials have no way of knowing who in the compound the material belonged to.

Conjures up some interesting movie titles. Three Men and a Camel, Behind the Tent Door and Nights of a Thousand Burqas.

PITTSBURGH — A kindergarten student in western Pennsylvania brought bags of heroin to school and handed them out to friends, said authorities, who on Thursday asked parents to search their children's belongings for the drug.

The 7-year-old boy at a primary school in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Carrick told detectives he gave bags of the drug to three friends over the past few days, police said in a statement released late Wednesday.
A teacher discovered the heroin and alerted the principal, who found 18 bags of the drug in the boy's locker and backpack, according to police. Police searched the school with a dog on Wednesday but found no further sign of the drug.

The boy, whose name was not disclosed, called the bags the "magic ticket" because they were stamped with an image of a rabbit emerging from a magic hat, police said.
It was not immediately known where he got the drug, and investigations by police and a child welfare agency were underway.
Police were asking parents to check their schoolchildren's belongings and asked that any child who may have been exposed to the drug be evaluated at a hospital.
By Thursday morning, three parents reported that their children had bags of heroin that were subsequently turned over to police, according to Ebony Pugh, a spokeswoman for Pittsburgh's public schools.
"We haven't received any reports of anyone being harmed," she said.

    BUTT MOUSE

Seneca, South Carolina (SafeCITY) - Noah Smith, a 31-year-old South Carolina man was jailed after he was allegedly found naked in a stranger's home with a mouse tail protruding out of his butt.

Oh yes, it's as bad as it sounds.

According to the Oconee County Sheriff's Office, a deputy responding to a burglary report discovered Smith laying face down naked inside the doorway of the victims home.

When the deputy tried to make contact with Smith, he reportedly turned over and slapped the deputy, prompting the deputy to deploy his Taser. After seeing that the Taser had no effect on Smith, the deputy called for backup.

A few moment's later, a cluster of deputies tried to apprehend Smith in the victim's bedroom, however Smith evaded arrest by jumping off the victim's bed in an attempt to kick the deputies.

Pepper spray was deployed, however it was ineffective as well, since Smith continued to kick at deputies and evade arrest.

Deputies then struck Smith several times with a baton, however Smith retaliated by attempting to bite one of the deputies.

Eventually a dog pile of deputies wrestled Smith to the ground, covering his mouth with a blanket so he couldn't bite them. An EMS crew that arrived on scene assisted in getting Smith shackled and tied down to a stretcher.

Since Smith was suspected of being high on mushrooms, he was taken to a local emergency room for a medical exam. It was during the exam medical personnel found a mouse tail protruding from Smith's rectum. An X-Ray later revealed that Smith had a mouse lodged further inside his rectum.

Smith was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on charges of resisting arrest, two counts of assault and battery and indecent exposure.

    SUPER-WEIRD #1

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (SafeCITY) - Mark Anthony Richardson Jr., a 21-year-old Oklahoma City man was jailed after he allegedly pretended to be an autistic adult in an effort to con his caretakers into changing diapers that he wore for sexual gratification.

According to Oklahoma City Police, Richardson searched on Craigslist to find babysitters who would care for him - claiming that he was severely autistic and needed intense supervision.

A woman, who Richardson had hired, change his diaper on four occasions on April 8th. She stated that he would get sexually aroused while she was cleaning and changing him.

Investigators say Richardson answered another ad in September, stating that his name was "David" and that he needed a caregiver for his severely autistic 19-year-old son named "Alex."

Richardson went on to say that his son still wore diapers, drank formula from a bottle and used a pacifier.

"Alex", who arrived at the care giver's home with $40 and a typed note from "David." was dressed in dirty clothes and a soiled diaper. He brought with him a backpack that contained diapers, ointment, a bottle and a pacifier.

The caregiver changed his diapers, and got him clean clothes the first night he stayed with her. When she tried to put him to bed, he kicked and screamed until she read him a bedtime story. She gave him a bottle of formula and he drank it with a "straight face," before finally going to sleep. The caregiver also reported that when she tried to change his diapers, on occasion he would get up and run around the house until she caught him and put his diaper on.

Richardson stayed in the home on several occasions in September. On one occasion, he groped the care giver's 18-year-old daughter's breast during an overnight stay, however the incident was dismissed upon the belief that he didn't realize what he was doing.

It was later determined that "Alex" was in fact Richardson, and that he was pretending to be autistic to satisfy an "adult baby/diaper lover" sexual fetish.

The caregiver told investigators that at first she believed the man was in fact autistic, but now feels extremely disgusted that she had wiped and cleaned a pervert, not an autistic man.

Richardson was booked into the Oklahoma City Jail and charged with a felony count of sexual battery and seven misdemeanor counts of outraging public decency. He is due to appear in court on January 5th for a preliminary hearing.

Richardson is also on probation for a 2008 arson charge.

    Japenese scientists create shitty steak.
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/digitaltrend...outoffeces?wtf

Somehow this feels like a Vonnegut plotline: population boom equals food shortage. Solution? Synthesize food from human waste matter. Absurd yes, but Japanese scientists have actually discovered a way to create edible steaks from human feces.

Mitsuyuki Ikeda, a researcher from the Okayama Laboratory, has developed steaks based on proteins from human excrement. Tokyo Sewage approached the scientist because of an overabundance of sewage mud. They asked him to explore the possible uses of the sewage and Ikeda found that the mud contained a great deal of protein because of all the bacteria.

The researchers then extracted those proteins, combined them with a reaction enhancer and put it in an exploder which created the artificial steak. The “meat” is 63% proteins, 25% carbohydrates, 3% lipids and 9% minerals. The researchers color the poop meat red with food coloring and enhance the flavor with soy protein. Initial tests have people saying it even tastes like beef.

Inhabitat notes that “the meatpacking industry causes 18 percent of our greenhouse gas emissions, mostly due to the release of methane from animals.” Livestock also consume huge amounts of resources and space in efforts to feed ourselves as well as the controversy over cruelty to animals. Ikeda’s recycled poop burger would reduce waste and emissions, not to mention obliterating Dante’s circle for gluttons.

The scientists hope to price it the same as actual meat, but at the moment the excrement steaks are ten to twenty times the price they should be thanks to the cost of research. Professor Ikeda understands the psychological barriers that need to be surmounted knowing that your food is made from human feces. They hope that once the research is complete, people will be able to overlook that ugly detail in favor of perks like environmental responsibility, cost and the fact that the meat will have fewer calories.

    Waste not; want not.

Naked Thief Nabbed During Robbery Attempt

By Rebecca Burton and Todd Wright
    NBCMIAMI.com NBCMIAMI.com
    updated 2 hours 25 minutes ago2011-07-06T22:16:16

When Miami police responded to a robbery in progress call Wednesday they received a nude awakening.
Cops arrived at NE 3rd Avenue and 82nd Street and found a man holding a naked man on the ground, who was accused of breaking into a car and stealing the radio.
According to authorities, the robbery suspect, 17-year-old Kendrick Davis, was clothed at first, but decided to pull his streak routine to escape.
    It didn't work.
The owner of the car, who was getting ready to go to work, and a witness chased Davis down the street and a fight broke out, an arrest report stated.
As the fight progressed, Davis began stripping his clothes off.
That didn't stop the victim from tackling the suspect and pinning him to the ground until cops arrived.
Davis, now nude, was anything but bashful and yelled profanities at the officer and the guy who violently helped undressed him.
Police say Davis had several open arrest warrants, as well as another car radio and GPS in his possession, which are believed to be stolen.
The teen was charged with grand theft and burglary.

Next week six scientists and an official go on trial in Italy for manslaughter over the earthquake in L'Aquila that killed 309 people two years ago.
This extraordinary case has attracted international attention because science
itself seemed to be on trial, with the seven defendants apparently charged for
failing to predict the magnitude 6.3 earthquake that struck on the night of 6
    April 2009.

Scientists cannot yet say when an earthquake is going to happen with any
precision, even in a seismically active zone. And over 5,000 scientists from
around the world have signed a letter supporting those on trial.

Yet the lawyer for one of the scientists, in an interview with Newsnight,
said it is possible his client will be convicted:

"I'm afraid that like an earthquake, nothing in this case is predictable.
Let's not forget, this trial is happening in L'Aquila, where the entire
population has been personally affected, and awaiting a sentence that should not
happen, but could happen," Marcello Milandri said.

failing to predict the magnitude 6.3 earthquake that struck on the night of 6
