JAPAN KNOWS HOW TO BAIL HAY (& TERRORISE INNOCENT LIVESTOCK)

    This is FUCKING BRILLIANT

    11/10/2013 - 14:36:00

It's hay-making season in Japan, but they just don't pile the stuff into bales in a field.

No, instead, there's a tradition of making enormous straw sculptures like this one. It's thatched, just like old cottage roofs - but the wooden structures underneath are made in the shapes ofbeasts, not bedrooms.

Kotaku, the gaming and Japanese culture blog, brought this to the West's attention with their fantastic gallery culled from Japanese-language blogs, and it's definitely worth a look for more amazing creations.

Obviously, dried-out straw is less nutritious than proper hay, and we doubt this could be used for fodder - but wouldn't you love to see some of these dotted around the countryside at harvest time

ETA " but the wooden structures underneath are made in the shapes ofbeasts, not bedrooms."

Whaaaa??? Who bales hay in th shape of bedrooms??

Most young men would be haunted for life by the sight of their mother having sex - the last thing they would want is a picture of it.
But for Leigh Ledare that image was such an inspiration that he decided to capture it on camera for the world to see in a series of photographs that Sigmund Freud himself could only have dreamed of.
The American artist has now sent shock waves through the art world after his collection explicit images of his mother, Tina, cavorting naked with an array of younger men was showcased as part of a new exhibition in London.
The New York-based photographer, 36, is showcasing the controversial series, many of which are too graphic to publish on this website, in a bid to redefine the perceived boundaries between mother and son.

n one, the middle-aged woman stares confidently into the camera as she removes her underwear, her legs spread wide in a pose that leaves little to the imagination.
Another shows her laughing in bed as she cavorts naked with a younger lover to whom she appears to have tied herself with a belt.
Meanwhile, others need little explanation beyond their titles, such as the provocatively-named 'Mom Spread with Lamp' and 'Mom F***ing in Mirror'.

Asked by The Guardian if he ever gets turned on when taking such pictures of his mother, the artist replied ambiguously: 'I don't know what to say.'
'I think already in the background there were some foggy boundary issues. What people talk about as being Oedipal – there's a flirtation with that, but the boundaries were never actually crossed,' he said.
He says he gained inspiration for the series after returning home for Christmas one year to be greeted by his mother in a most unusual manner.
'I arrived home not having seen her for a year and a half,' he recalls. 'She knew I was coming and opened the door naked.'
He said when he then entered the house and caught a glimpse into her bedroom, 'a young man, almost exactly my age, was sprawled out naked. He rolled over to see me, saying hello, before rolling back over and returning to sleep.'
'I had a camera and began making photos of her then,' he added. 'She was the catalyst.'
The exhibition also includes extracts from his own adolescent diary entries; ads Tina placed in the Seattle Weekly for 'a generous, wealthy husband (not someone else's) who wants his own private dancer'; as well as descriptions of her fraught relationship with her sons and former husband.
As a teenager, Tina was a ballet prodigy, who danced for the New York City Ballet Company, but turned to stripping when her career ended prematurely.
For seven years, Ledare has been photographing her in her most intimate acts and attitudes, exploiting her need for recognition and her boundless and exhibitionist attitude.
The pictures will be showcased in an exhibition The Home Truths: Photography, Motherhood and Identity – at the Photographers' Gallery in London

Ok that is just creepy gross on so many levels. The parent/kid sex thing is one of those don't ask/don't tell situations. I prefer to think that my parents had sex only 4 times during their 50 year marriage or I could totally be happy with the thought that me and my siblings were all adopted and there was never any sex..EVER!! This news story really makes me want to go bathe in bleach now.

Groom forgets bride at gas station, somehow lives to tell the tale
    MSN 6 hrs ago

A German bride might be reconsidering her decision to say 'I do' after her brand new husband forgot her at a gas station on the side of the highway. The newlyweds were on their way home from their honeymoon when they stopped for fuel, and the unnamed man didn't notice she'd gotten out of their van to hit the restroom. (We're not defending him, but she HAD been asleep in the back seat when he pulled over.) He'd been on the road for 2 1/2 hours before he noticed that she was missing and turned around to pick her up. She was "patiently waiting" for him, according to the Associated Press because she's apparently the most forgiving person in the world. Hang on to her, buddy! those photos make me sad. i was reading a bunch about it. she's been an exhibitionist his whole life ans it seems he sexualized her from a very young age. in the book with those pictures, he uses journal entries and notes from when he was young. in one place there is a list of girls he wants to 'do' and his mom's name is on it.

    child abuse.

there's a guy i know that reminds me of this dude. he has always had a strange love/hate relationship with his mom. she's a really nice lady, but when he was growing up she was a hippie love kind of gal. she'd walk around naked and wasn't shy about sex with him around. he grew up and became an addict. after he died we found 'family affair' porno in his stuff.

i think she thought she was raising him right, but she clearly did something wrong.

Man Who Cooked & Served Own Genitals

n April, a 22-year-old asexual artist served a meal comprised of his own penis and testicles to a group of high paying guests. Mao Sugiyama had his genitals voluntarily removed in March and was storing them in his freezer before thawing them out and serving them to five guests who paid $250 each. The penis, scrotal skin and testes were garnished with mushrooms and parsley and neatly divided up for the guests. A total of 71 people attended the event.

Five months after the incident, Japanese authorities charged Sugiyama with indecent exposure, which in Japan is considered ?displaying obscene objects.? Sugiyama said the dinner was intended to raise awareness of ?sexual minorities, x-gender, asexual people.

Woman Arrested For Twerking In Front of School Bus Full Of Children

    Whoops, wrong woman

A Florida woman was accused of ?dancing in a vulgar manner? in front of children, but instead of being asked to host Saturday Night Live, she was arrested.

A Lake County deputy spotted Valerie Dixon, 27, bent over at the waist and screaming profanities at a school bus full of children. The Orlando Sentinel reported that the children on the school bus were watching as Dixon twerked and allegedly grasped her genital area before the officer stepped in to stop the show. According to the local news affiliate, Dixon, who had no previous criminal charges, was charged with disorderly conduct and booked into the Lake County Jail. She was released from jail on Wednesday after posting a $250 bond, and is due to appear in court on October 22

Homeless woman charged with disorderly conduct after twerking in front of schoolchildren on a Florida bus

Deputy arrests 27-year-old for 'vulgar dance' Woman was said to be grasping genitals as youngsters looked on

    By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

    PUBLISHED: 21:19GMT, 5 October 2013 | UPDATED: 21:20 GMT, 5 October 2013

A homeless woman has been arrested after twerking in front of a Florida school bus. Valerie Dixon has been charged with disorderly conduct after her 'vulgar' display in front of children on Tuesday. The 27-year-old allegedly bent over and started twerking, with one hand on her ankle and the other on her genitals. Dixon was spotted bent over at the waist by a Lake County deputy who said she was 'dancing in a vulgar manner'.

She was said by the deputy to have one hand 'grasping her genital area' as she danced, the Orlando Sentinel reported. The deputy said children on the school bus were watching as the 27-year-old danced. It is not the first time twerking has got over-enthusiastic dancers in trouble. The popular trend, which now appears in the Oxford dictionary, sparked Miley Cyrus's controversial appearance at the MTV awards. The craze also led to 30 San Diego high school students being suspended after they made a video of them twerking on campus earlier this year. Dixon is said to have had several complaints made against her in previous years and has been banned from several businesses in the area. She had no previous criminal charges, according to News 13. Dixon was released from jail on Wednesday after posting a $250 bond, and is due to appear in court on October 22

After a 30 second video of a father whipping his two teen daughters with a cable wire went viral, the father has been charged by Dayton, Ohio police with child endangerment, NY Daily News reports.

The beating allegedly occurred when 35 year old Greg Horn discovered that his daughters posted video of themselves on Facebook dancing in a sexually suggestive manner called ?twerking.?

Police said one of the girls had visible welts on both legs and some open wounds.

Twerking at DeBordieu wedding reception leads to husband's arrest, deputies say Posted: Oct 11, 2013 10:50 AM EST Updated: Oct 11, 2013 11:17 AM EST By WBTW News Staff

DEBORDIEU, SC -A wife "grinding" while dancing "seductively" with another man sparked her husband to hit her at a wedding reception at the exclusive DeBordieu Colony, Georgetown Sheriff Deputies say.

The incident happened around 11:40 pm on Sept. 28 after a wedding was held at the DeBordieu Clubhouse on the marsh and a reception was held afterwards at the clubhouse, according to a sheriff's report.

The DeBordieu Colony island in Georgetown County is private and entry to the island is limited to homeowners or those placed on a guest list for weddings at least 3 days in advance.

"(The suspect) stated that he and his wife were at a wedding in Debordieu when he observed his wife grinding up on another guy while dancing and he got upset and told her they were leaving the wedding reception," deputies wrote in a report.

"(The victim) stated that her husband got upset after she danced "seductively" with another man and grabbed her by the arm and escorted her out of the clubhouse. (the victim) stated that once outside the club house, her husband hit her several times but only hitting her arms."

"(The victim) stated that her husband had threatened to hit her and kick her out because she is ?trailer park'," the report also said.

The suspect, who was a guest at the wedding along with his wife, told deputies that he did not hit his wife, but that they merely argued verbally regarding a divorce, deputies said.

The victim, age 41, told deputies that she hit her husband back with car keys to get away from him and to stop him from hitting her. A small bloody scratch was noticed by deputies on the husband's cheek, the report said.

Charles William Arnold, age 43, of Pawleys Island, was charged with criminal domestic violence ? first offense.

Arnold, who has no prior criminal record, was released just before noon the next day from the Georgetown County Jail after paying a $2,505 bail, according to the jail website.

18-foot, serpent-like sea creature found off California

LOS ANGELES A marine science instructor snorkeling off the Southern California coast spotted something out of a fantasy novel: the silvery carcass of an 18-foot-long, serpent-like oarfish.

Jasmine Santana of the Catalina Island Marine Institute needed more than 15 helpers to drag the giant sea creature with eyes the size of half dollars to shore on Sunday.

Staffers at the institute are calling it the discovery of a lifetime.
"We've never seen a fish this big," said Mark Waddington, senior captain of the Tole Mour, CIMI's sail training ship. "The last oarfish we saw was three feet long."

Because oarfish dive more than 3,000 feet deep, sightings of the creatures are rare and they are largely unstudied, according to CIMI.

    3 Photos
Giant sea creature found off Calif.

The obscure fish apparently died of natural causes. Tissue samples and video footage were sent to be studied by biologists at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Santana spotted something shimmering about 30 feet deep while snorkeling during a staff trip in Toyon Bay at Santa Catalina Island, about two dozen miles from the mainland.

"She said, 'I have to drag this thing out of here or nobody will believe me,'" Waddington said.

After she dragged the carcass by the tail for more than 75 feet, staffers waded in and helped her bring it to shore.

The carcass was on display Tuesday for 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students studying at CIMI. It will be buried in the sand until it decomposes and then its skeleton will be reconstituted for display, Waddington said.

The oarfish, which can grow to more than 50 feet, is a deep-water pelagic fish - the longest bony fish in the world, according to CIMI.

They are likely responsible for sea serpent legends throughout history.

Mom Stealing Candy from Drugstore Leaves Baby Behind, Police Say

    By Heather Holland on October 16, 2013 8:56am | Updated on October 16, 2013 11:24am

FINANCIAL DISTRICT — So much for no child left behind.

A stroller-toting mom who used her 1-year-old son as cover during a massive candy shoplifting spree at a downtown Duane Reade used the tot's pram as a battering ram when workers confronted her — and then ran away without the baby, the NYPD said.

Michelle Calderon, 23, piled more than $250 worth of candy into the bottom of her son's stroller at the 100 Broadway store at 2:42 a.m. Oct. 7, police said.

Calderon, who was arrested in June for smuggling an envelope of cocaine into Rikers Island and was out on $50 cash bail, had help from Raymond Lebron, 20, who grabbed cough drops and gum from the aisles, and Darnell Johnson, 26, who served as a lookout inside the store, police said.

But when the trio tried to leave the store without paying, a worker confronted the group and tried to take back the stolen items: $179 worth of Halls throat drops, $59 worth of Wrigley’s gum, $43 worth of Dentyne gum and $15 worth of Tic Tacs, police said.

Lebron hit the worker in the face twice — cutting the worker's chin and throat — while Calderon used her stroller to push the worker out of the store, ramming him down onto the sidewalk, according to the Manhattan District Attorney's criminal complaint.

The worker grabbed the stroller and held onto it in an effort to keep the trio from fleeing, but they dashed off anyway, leaving the stroller and the young child behind, the criminal complaint said.

All three suspects were later caught and charged with robbery, abandonment of a child and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the DA's office.

Calderon was being held at Rikers on $15,000 bail on Wednesday, records show.

Information about the suspects' attorneys was not immediately available. Duane Reade did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Police said the child was taken away by Administration for Children's Services. An ACS representative said the child was still in ACS custody Wednesday and the investigation was ongoing.

Yet another victim of the shut down. They drove the poor woman nuts...

    http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...n-house-floor/
Washington (CNN) ? Amid all the chaos of the last-minute deal in Washington, there was an unusual moment on the House floor moments after the bill passed.

A House stenographer and well-known employee calmly took to a microphone and began screaming.

"Do not be deceived. God shall not be mocked. A House divided cannot stand," she said, according to a House GOP aide. After a few seconds, she was escorted out by the Sergeant-at-Arms, but an audio recording by Todd Zwillich of Public Radio International captured the rest of her rant.

"He will not be mocked, He will not be mocked, (don't touch me) He will not be mocked. The greatest deception here, is that this is not one nation under God. It never was. Had it been... it would not have been... No. it would not have been... the Constitution would not have been written by Free Masons... and go against God. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God, Lord Jesus Christ."

House members and aides were surprised and unsettled by the scene.

"I don't know, she just snapped," said a GOP aide.

CNN's Dana Bash spoke with several staffers who knew the woman well.

"She?s a well-known person, she?s a perfectly nice person, a good colleague, somebody who?s respectable and dependable, and this is very surprising to everybody who works with her," Bash reported on air.

"The Sergeant in Arms didn?t try to stop her because she works there and that?s where she?s situated," Rep. Peter King, R-New York, told Jake Tapper. "And she actually went up behind the podium where the president speaks from. They thought she was going to hand something to the speaker, and then they realized."

Officer Shennell S. Antrobus of Capitol Police told CNN that officers have interviewed the woman and that she was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Many officers knew her personally as well, a source said.

Yep we were watching CSPAN and saw it too. I was glad to get an explanation this AM.

New Website Tracks How Many People Have Died In Your House

    (NYC Municipal Archives)

Congratulations - you've found the perfect prewar apartment overlooking the park! It has everything: Restored hardwood floors, enormous windows, a red brick decorative fireplace...and the souls of several dead people.

You didn't think you were the first person to live in a 150-year-old brownstone, did you? That is adorably naive. No, you were not the first person to whine about its rattling pipes and hard-to-furnish L-shaped living room. And you won't be the first person to die in it, either. But why speculate? A new website, DiedInHouse.com, will tell you just how many former residents sucked in their final desperate breath in that very spot you've selected for your Sodastream.

It's easy - just enter your address and credit card information (the service costs an eminently reasonable $11.99) and voila - you will be apprised of who has died in your home, when, and more importantly, how they died. It is then up to you and your family to determine who gets the bedroom where the murder/suicide took place, though unfortunately the site does not offer any sort of family mediation service so you're really on your own there.

This, however, is not a joking matter. An extensive FAQ addresses several questions you should have:

Q: How was the idea for the website developed?

A: I found out that someone had died in my house before I bought it, I assumed it was part of the disclosure process, but found out that it was not. I discovered that most states do not have any laws to disclose a death occurrence in a property no matter how it occurred (murder, suicide, accident, illness or natural). I discovered that there is not a single place to go and that the research is very time consuming.

Q: Do people care if there is a death in a property?

A: Yes, a 2007 Associated Press Poll found that 1/3 of Americans admit to believe in Ghost. I wonder how many do not admit it. You may not believe in ghost, but you do not want to live in a house where someone has died, no matter how. A death in a home can impact its value and time to sell.

If you do not mind either way, a stigmatized home can be a bargain and the information can be used as leverage to negotiate a reduced price or rent.

Q: Can someone buying a new home benefit from running a report?

A: Yes, a Michigan couple had no idea that the previous owner had taken his life in the basement, before the house was completed. The house was new when they bought it. They now own a home they love with a past they can't come to terms with. They wondered, didn't someone have to tell them and presumed it was a law to disclose. The bank and others knew, but did not tell them.

The land could have had a traumatic event occur on it. Serial killer John Wayne Gacy, Jr. raped and murdered at least 33 teenage boys then buried 26 of them in the crawl space of his home in Chicago, IL . The house was demolished and in 1988 and a new house was built in its spot.

This issue is of particular importance in New York, where buildings are old and brokers are not required to disclose when a property was the site of a "homicide, a suicide, or another death." Reluctant to pony up the measly 12 bucks? Here's one for free: If you live in one of the shiny new condo units at South 4th Street and Bedford Avenue, we've got some bad news for you.
