I like assault rifle guy's pantry. I'd be his friend.

I have seen the future and I'm fairly relieved to say, it looks nothing like me.

PORTLAND -- A man who decided he was too drunk to drive early Friday morning chose instead to crawl into a recycling dumpster at a Southeast Portland bar, only to be picked up by a hauler and twice compacted.

The man had been drinking at Club 205 when he chose the container to spend the night instead of a drunken drive home, said Lt. Robert King.

The club's regular trash hauler showed up sometime after 1 a.m. The truck emptied the recycling container and continued on its route, twice compacting the load, King said.

When the truck reached Mall 205, the Waste Management worker discovered the man in the truck, King said. He had suffered minor injuries and was taken the hospital by ambulance at about 2:45 a.m.

Waste Management spokeswoman Jackie Lang said the driver did everything he could to help the man, including initial treatment. The driver had to convince the man not to walk away as he wished, but to stay and get proper medical attention.

Lang said the driver was shaken up by the incident.

He was shaken, not stirred. His drunken moment of "oh this sounds like a swell idea" gave me the lulz!

    More Bizarre than anything else....

Parasailing Woman Dies After Long Fall
    By Edward B. Colby
    NBCMIAMI.com
updated less than 1 minute ago

A 28-year-old woman from Connecticut was fatally injured when she fell approximately 200 feet in a parasailing accident off Pompano Beach, authorities said.

The woman was parasailing tandem with her husband offshore in Pompano Beach when her harness broke at 3:18 p.m. Wednesday and she fell between 150 and 200 feet into the water, city spokeswoman Sandra King said in a statement.

The husband's harness did not break, so the boat?s operator slowly reeled him into the boat, and found the woman face-down in the water. They started CPR, called 911 and brought the woman to the Hillsboro Inlet. There Pompano Beach Fire-Rescue continued CPR and administered ?advanced life support? for the woman, who was in cardiac arrest, King said.

She was taken to Broward Health North in critical condition. King said later Wednesday afternoon that she had been pronounced dead.

The couple, reportedly from Connecticut, was here on vacation, King said.

The Broward Sheriff's Office and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are investigating the incident.

I went parasailing one time. It was scary since I'm afraid of heights. And my now ex bf kept on grabbing a hook (or how do you call it?) that held some of it together, so I wanted to smack him in the face.

Can't imagine the fear that woman must have felt. And poor husband, that's one image you'll never get out of your mind. Somehow these stories about people who die while on vacation with their partner really get to me. Especially when it's some freak accident and the other half sees it all happen. Like that guy who was sucked into a blow hole while on vacation. So sad.

This is weird in that the financial provider is allowing this.

Samsung Pays Apple $1 Billion Sending 30 Trucks Full of 5 Cents Coins

This morning more than 30 trucks filled with 5-cent coins arrived at Apple?s headquarters in California. Initially, the security company that protects the facility said the trucks were in the wrong place, but minutes later, Tim Cook (Apple CEO) received a call from Samsung CEO explaining that they will pay $1 billion dollars for the fine recently ruled against the South Korean company in this way.

the funny part is that the signed document does not specify a single payment method, so Samsung is entitled to send the creators of the iPhone their billion dollars in the way they deem best.

This dirty but genius geek troll play is a new headache to Apple executives as they will need to put in long hours counting all that money, to check if it is all there and to try to deposit it crossing fingers to hope a bank will accept all the coins.

Lee Kun-hee, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, told the media that his company is not going to be intimidated by a group of ?geeks with style? and that if they want to play dirty, they also know how to do it.

You can use your coins to buy refreshments at the little machine for life or melt the coins to make computers, that?s not my problem, I already paid them and fulfilled the law.

A total of 20 billion coins, delivery hope to finish this week.

Let?s see how Apple will respond to this.

It's a HOAX. Think of the logistics of gathering that many coins.

Also, they're going to appeal the decision. They have no plans of paying that amount.

Missing Iceland tourist joins search party for herself

A tourist in Iceland was reported missing, but the search was called off when people realized she was a part of the search group.

Iceland Review reports, the woman was a part of a group travelling by bus. When the bus stopped Saturday afternoon near Iceland's Eldgja canyon in the southern highlands, the woman got off to freshen up and change her clothes. But when she got back on the bus, the other passengers didn't recognize her so they reported her missing.

They also incorrectly counted the number of passengers. The description of the woman must not have been that accurate because she didn't even recognize it. Not thinking it was her, she joined the search. About 50 people searched the terrain on foot and with vehicles until the early hours of the morning.

A Coast Guard helicopter was even ready to join the search, but foggy conditions prevented that from happening. The search was called off around 3 a.m. when people realized the missing woman had been on the bus all along.

According to Iceland Review, a similar thing happened in 1954 when people searched for hours for a girl who reportedly went missing while picking berries. Not only was the girl not missing, but she participating in the search party. The incident was blamed on a incorrect description of the girl's clothing.

Yeah, there's only like 40 million dollars worth of nickels in existence...

In life, Queens mechanical engineer George Cardel was a science buff, and his relatives say he was determined to donate his body to medical science. But after he died of a heart attack last year at age 59, medical science didn't want him. Even though there is a shortage of cadavers for medical students' anatomy classes, Cardel's corpse was rejected because it was too heavy, a lawsuit alleges. "The deceased weighed too much," attorney Eric Rothstein, who is representing Cardel?s sister, tells the Daily News, which reports that the lawsuit alleges "grave humiliation."

Cardel weighed about 300 pounds at the time of his death. "He was stocky, heavy-set,? says one relative. ?I can't say he was pleasantly plump.? After his death, hospital officials say they tried to place his corpse with the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine at Hofstra University, but it was rejected, according to the lawsuit. Apparently no other facilities would take the corpse either, and when the spurned remains were returned to the family 13 days later, they were "so badly decomposed it required cremation."

Former New York City chief medical examiner Michael Baden says he's not surprised, and tells the News, "An obese person would be harder to dissect because of the amount of fat tissue under the skin." The lawsuit seeks $2 million in damages for Cardel's sister.
it seems stupid to reject the body since most Americans are obese and you would think that we need MDs trained to treat/navigate the actual patients that exist?

not like the family actually opened the box with the returned body. maybe suing for a few grand to cover the cremation costs if they really caouldn't afford it- i get that actually... but that doesn't seem to be the case either.

so much research can be done with what happens to a an obese human that dies young. why just reject such an opportunity? they can rip up this guy and test so many samples and publish so much crap in the hopes to save a few people out there who have lifestyles that can lead to this... or inspire others to help, etc.

most americans are obese! this is outrageous to me. if i was into the bio research realm and if i had any power and caught wind of this i would orchestrate a research team just for this kind donation.

im new. i just ranted. sorry. this story struck a nerve.

i posted an image with homer smacking himself and D'OH text was used. it's gone. just relaying my message properly.
the science community has disappointed me terribly. samples such as this person donated, are needed and his was returned. it's tragic. their lawsuit would work well with me if they won and used it to fund some organization to urge other obese individuals to do the same, knowing their remains won't get fucking rejected, but some program can allow such remains to be used for use to help the obese in this country.

its an epidemic sickness. it is real. it pains me. i am not one of them by far but i am sympathetic beyond.

these scientist idiots should have found aw ay to make use of his remains.

i am new. i ranted. you are my first reply. and in my state, it egged me on. but i am serious about my argument here. i just hope i don't get banned over this bc im new and ranting and i know it's not a cool thing to do.

its labor day peak and i got started with bacardi. i know better so ill jump off... i will close my laptop to spare myself. im pissed. scientists threw a body back bc it was fat liek most humans are? SMH almost breaking my neck!!!
    i am not BSing here!
i am pissed off over this story (read every one in this thread) and i found more links to it and shared it with my geek comrades. i am not crazy. they can't believe it either. this thread is prob the best thing that happened to me anyways.

i found my sanity. ron ur a piece of gold in the future... when prices go wayyyyyy high and humans are building islands to survive. in america dood. keep at it. smart fucker. (dont ban me im nice im just angry about a cremated body)

im just angry about how a human body was burned bc it was too fat to study for science. meanwhile "obesity" is rampant and no one can nail it. medicine threw it away! they threw him away like garbage in the form of shipping him back with paperwork. justice supported it! and i dissect cats and pigs and shit. im brainfuckt over this man. i would have helped if i knew and had the chance.

this is a drunk rant at 9 pm almost. an hour ago i wasn't drunk. please note this.
