It turns out people will do almost anything for free food. Shoppers in Germany let it all hang loose ? literally ? for some gratis groceries.
According to ABC News, more than 200 shoppers showed up to the grand opening of a supermarket in S?derl?gum, Germany, where the storeowner had offered a rather strange promotion to attract new customers. The store had advertised that the first 100 customers would get up to 220 euro or $276 worth of free food. The catch? Everyone had to show up au naturel.
Owner Nils Sterndorff's gimmick, which he thought up to promote business, worked better than he could have imagined. Sterndorff said, "I never thought a hundred people would come; I thought maybe more like ten."
Customers waited outside and were ushered into the supermarket in groups of twenty. They then stripped down and proceeded to shop normally for their free groceries. Videos were taken and photos were snapped, but the nude German customers didn't seem to mind ? they were focused on the food.
Would you get naked for $276 worth of free groceries?
That's interesting. Even more so that I bet a lot of people in the USA would do this, given the state of some people's financial ruins because of the economy etc. Then again some people would do it just because. lol

Casey was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail on a charge of lewd and lascivious behavior.

A southern Illinois man awakened to find a spider in his bed, and in a panic, ran through a glass door outside his home, police told FoxNews.com.
The man's identity was not released, but the 20-year-old was apparently sleeping in the buff when he spotted the spider Tuesday morning in his bed, Mike Judge, the police chief, said. He apparently ran through a glass storm door during his escape, cutting his arms, legs and a finger. He was treated at a hospital.
Authorities fielded numerous reports of a bloody streaker and later found the man back at his home, where he'd donned some shorts.
It isn't clear what kind of spider he encountered.
The sheriff doesn't suspect drugs or alcohol were involved.

A Dublin man is awaiting sentence after he was found guilty of raping his mother on Mother?s Day in a case described by the judge as ?distasteful and sordid?.
The 45-year-old rapist had pleaded not guilty to the rape at Dublin?s Central Criminal Court.
He had told the court that the sex at his mother?s home in March 2008 was ?consensual?.
The Irish Times reports that the jury of four men and eight women took just over four hours of deliberations over two days to return the guilty verdict.

Justice Barry White excused them from jury service for life after telling them: ?It is not often a jury has to deal with a trial as distasteful and sordid as this.?
The justice remanded the man in custody for sentencing on October 1st. He also ordered that the rapist be registered as a sex offender and a victim impact report be made available to the court.
The report states that, in evidence, the court heard the accused admitted having sex with his mother but said it was consensual and that one thing had ?led to another?.
His 65-year-old mother, who lives alone, was awaiting surgery and was on medication including an opiate painkiller, sleeping tablets and benzodiazepine.

A seven-year-old boy tried to kill himself twice after he was forced to perform oral sex on an older classmate, it has been claimed.
According to a lawsuit filed yesterday, administrators at a charter school in the U.S. repeatedly failed to take action after the youngster was bullied and sexually assaulted by the older pupil.
The boy, identified only as 'John' in the lawsuit, first told his mother in November 2011 that the 11-year-old boy 'made me do something nasty' in the back of a school bus, according to a police report.
The boy said he was forced to perform oral sex on the classmate, 'J.R.' who warned him, 'If you don't do this, I'm gonna hurt you,' the report says.
The boy's mother contacted Rebecca Dinda, principal of the Downtown Miami Charter School the boys attended, according to the lawsuit.
Ms Dinda assured the mother 'the assault would not happen again and that the two children would be separated and closely monitored.'
But the attorney for the boy's mother, Jeffrey Herman, said the bullying and threats continued, followed by a second sexual assault in a school restroom.
'They have a duty to prevent that harm from happening with these little kids,' Mr Herman told reporters. 'The school failed miserably.'
The younger boy's mother said 'John' attempted suicide twice after that, once by deliberately standing in traffic with his eyes closed and another time by sticking a metal hanger in an electric socket.
The mother, who asked not to be identified by name to protect her son's identity, said he is now taking psychological medications, has frequent difficulty sleeping and making friends and will likely undergo therapy for years.
'It has been a nightmare, and I would not want anybody to feel the way I do,' she said.
Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Charter Schools USA Inc., operator of the school, said in a statement it could not comment directly on the lawsuit's allegations but added that 'student safety and security are among our highest priorities.'
The lawsuit also names a bus service and driver as defendants.
It is not clear whether the Miami Police Department had concluded its criminal investigation.
Mr Herman said when sex assault allegations are made against one child by another, it's not always clear that the perpetrator knew that a crime was being committed.
He added that 'J.R.' is also undergoing mental counseling.
Mr Herman said the lawsuit will seek damages 'in the millions' to cover what will likely be years of therapy needed for 'John,' who will no longer attend Downtown Miami Charter.
It also could affect his ability to earn a living, Mr Herman said.
'There will be big damages in this case. His life will never be the same,' he said.
Ms Dinda declined to comment.

The school has to notify the police any time there's any sexual inproprieties/child abuse towards a child. This is what happens when good teachers are not well paid end up leaving and the schools hire inexperienced/poorly trained persons to "run schools" & "teach".

Lauderhill Police released surveillance video showing a gunman opening fire on a man at a strip mall.
The victim, 27-year-old Conrad Luke, died on the scene of multiple gunshot wounds on Wednesday night of last week. Police are calling the incident a brazen act.
The video clearly shows two people talking to the shooters before the incident. Police describe them as persons of interest because they can identify the shooters, they said.
The surveillance shows that the suspects were waiting for Luke to leave a club and that there was not an altercation before the shooting, police said.
"The shooting was not related to an argument,” said Detective Sgt. David Hennessy, the supervisor on the case.
The victim’s sister, Karen Luke, has said that an argument over a bicycle led to the shooting.
Her brother was shot in the parking lot of a strip mall on the 1600 block of N. State Road 7 at about 11:30 p.m. on June 27, according to police.
The shooters are armed, dangerous and at large, said police, who are hoping people will come forward to identify the people caught on tape.

Retired show horse becomes unwitting real-life unicorn -- and survives
Tommasina Ashley was visiting New York City for her sister's bridal shower last Thursday when she received an unsettling text message. Her 30-year-old horse, Danny, had been found in his stall with a 9-inch piece of wood wedged into his skull. Ashley was hours away from Danny's home at Amelia Acres, a Hudson Valley farm.
"I was in shock," the 42-year-old customer service representative told TODAY.com. "I was thinking, oh my god, he's had a stroke. It was a mess."
Miraculously, the wooden stake lodged in Danny?s forehead missed his left eye and brain by a few centimeters, rendering the caramel-colored thoroughbred in a foggy state of shock but still breathing.
Danny was rushed to Rhinebeck Equine, where doctors took X-rays and discovered the wood had broken through his skull and entered a pathway leading to his oral cavity. His surgeon, Dr. Susan Murray, said she hadn?t seen anything like it since medical school.
Doctors had to remove several bits of bone, leaving Danny with a hole in his head that will take at least a couple of months to heal. But the retired show jumper remained docile and calm throughout the whole ordeal, even as he was forced to stand in place (with help from a sedative) throughout the surgery, Dr. Murray said.
?He?s a brave boy and was very good,? she added. ?I almost think he knew we were intending to help him.?
This isn?t Danny?s first brush with death ? and he does know a thing or two about hospitals. Only a year and a half ago, he had emergency colic surgery after a 4-pound tumor amassed around his intestines. It took months of rehabilitation before Danny was jumping through hoops for his favorite treat, powdered donuts, again, Ashley said.
Just how Danny managed to become temporarily transformed into a unicorn still remains a mystery. Dr. Murray speculated that stomach trouble or even a loud noise could have caused Danny to jump up too quickly and injure himself on the post. Danny?s owner simply feels relief that such a gruesome accident didn?t cut their 20-year relationship short.
?If there?s any way to drive a stake through your head, this is the way to do it,? Ashley marveled.
Over the last few days, Ashley has traveled to Rhinebeck from her home in Montvale, New Jersey several times, walking and feeding her injured horse. At first, Danny?s condition was discouraging ? he couldn?t eat or relieve himself, and Ashley noticed how he?d grimace when stooping for a blade of grass. Though still in the first week of recovery, Danny now seems significantly better and has returned to what Ashley calls ?his normal, bossy self.?
She says that Danny has taught her to never give up on hurt animals, no matter how daunting the injury may appear. ?I want people to know that if this happens it?s not the end of the world," Ashley said. "You can fix catastrophic illnesses.?

i don't know, dude. :/ its a parenting fail on her part, in my opinion. there's no way in hell my kid would be going back to that school, and i'd be calling the cops the second i heard about it. i'm also thinking that the 11 year old has probably been abused. :/ i hope that angle is being investigated.

Restaurant owner dies after visit by President
AKRON -- A restaurant owner who was host to President Obama for breakfast on Friday became ill and died hours later.
Josephine "Ann" Harris of Copley Township died of natural causes late Friday morning, said Jason Grom, a forensic investigator with the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office.
No autopsy was planned.
Ms. Harris, who was 70, became ill at home after the Obama visit.
Mr. Grom said she went into cardiac arrest in the ambulance while en route to a hospital.
She had hugged the President when he showed up at Ann's Place for breakfast.
The Akron Beacon Journal interviewed Ms. Harris after the President's visit and described her as ecstatic. Other politicians and professional football players have stopped at the restaurant, but for Ms. Harris, none came close to Mr. Obama.
He was her hero.
"You know it's great," Ms. Harris said shortly after Mr. Obama left the family-owned restaurant.
"He treated us like one of the brothers," she said. "He hugged all of us and ? got his picture taken with all of us."
Within hours, Ms. Harris, who had been ill for some time, complained of fatigue and a tingling feeling. She was rushed to Akron General Medical Center, where she died about 11:15 a.m.
Her family members and beloved customers were saddened by her death, yet they were pleased she was first able to meet the President.
"I'm sure this was her highlight," said Frankie Adkins, Ms. Harris' sister. "She loved Obama."
The campaign offered condolences.
"As a small-business owner, a mother, a sister, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and friend of many throughout the community, Ann led an exceptional life and will be missed by all who knew her," Greg Schultz, director of Mr. Obama's Ohio campaign.
The President's trip to Ann's Place was his first stop on the second day of his bus tour through Ohio and Pennsylvania.
