This Is How a Heavy Storm Looks Inside a Cruise Liner

Chaos ensued as a cruise ship faced 25-foot-tall waves and 50-knot winds in a storm that sent passengers from one end of the ship to the other–bashing into walls, columns and battling swift-moving furniture.

Shocking video footage recorded the disaster aboard the Pacific Sun on August 1, as it was headed for an eight-day voyage from Auckland, New Zealand to the Vanuatu Islands. The storm took hold of the ship when it reached 400 miles north of its departure.

“It was like being in a disaster movie,” a passenger said. “There were screams and people crying as they looked for their lost children.” More than 42 out of the 1732 people on board were injured.

25 foot seas is not huge for the ocean, or 50 knot winds. Maybe they should secure that furniture like I do with my ice cooler on Stephanos.

    Fairly large ship....

he MS Pacific Sun is a Holiday class cruise ship operated by P&O Cruises Australia. At 47,000 tons, the Pacific Sun is a medium-sized ship, accommodating up to 1,900 passengers.

And that one dude just sliding across the floor?? That fool was a veteran to this issue. If that happened to me on a cruise at any point I would be the first one off the boat.
