Additional Information: On July 8th 2010, Anthony Magana, 15, of
Livingston, Calif; was found by his father hanging in his closet
around 8:25pm Thursday night. Riggs Ambulance Service of Merced,
Calif; were the first ones on the scene. Anthony had very small pulse.
Around 8:45 Mercy Air landed and flew him to Mercy Medical Center of
Merced, Calif. Once he arrived Doctors tired to revive him. Trauma
Doctor John R. Woods pronounced him dead at 9:17pm from hanging
himself.
The next day, Anthony’s dad sent out a text from his son's cell phone
regarding any information leading why Anthony would take his own life
that was almost so perfect. News come in that Anthony Magana recently
came out as gay and somehow it got out to his peers. His dad went onto
his computer trying to see if their are any clues from his E-Mail
account or his social networking sites. His dad discovered that his
son has been Cyber bullied for at least a month. Anthony’s peers
played a hurtful joke on Anthony, pretending to be another young man
his age from a town not too far from his own. In the end the bullies
told Anthony it was a joke the whole time and they started to call him
names that are just too hurtful to mention.
A detective from Merced County Sheriffs Office tried trace the fake
Myspace but couldn’t get an IP Address from it. Anthony Magana's was
bulled on the internet because he was different. Because of his sexual
origination.
His funeral was on the 11th of July. It was a very private service,
only family and extemely close friends intended.
