PORTLAND -- The family of a Portland man missing since September 16 returned from Southern Oregon to Portland, with fears that he could be delirious and may have traveled to one of a number of places around the country.
Mark Bosworth was last seen in Riddle, Oregon, where he had volunteered for a Cycle Oregon event. Witnesses said he seemed confused for a few days before that.
In a call to his wife late during the Cycle Oregon event, Bosworth said he was in Ontario, Canada. He said Cycle Oregon surprised riders by chartering a plane. The call sounded convincing.
His family thinks other possible destinations could include Minnesota and Iowa, where his daughters went to college; Chicago, Santa Cruz, Calif., North Carolina, Missouri and Florida where he has family.

"Mark has battled cancer in the past," a family spokeswoman said. "Doctors say he may be having short term memory problems and may think he currently lives in New York or other cities he frequently visited decades ago."
?Mark is a traveler,? said his wife Julie. ?He?s comfortable outdoors, making his way around, talking with strangers. Mark may not be able to tell a stranger that he lives in Portland right now, but there?s no doubt his passion about forests, trees, climate, geography, topography and biking would come through in a conversation."
Family and friends set up a booth at the Sunday Parkways bike event in Northeast Portland to distribute fliers and information.

?It won?t be one of us who finds Mark,? she said, ?It will be a stranger who has seen the flier or news coverage, who recognizes Mark.?

A friend of Bosworth's also spread the word at a cycling event in Hood River, where he enlisted three-time Tour de France winner
Greg Lemond to bring attention to the case.
Anyone with information about Bosworth?s disappearance was asked to call the Douglas County tip line at (541) 957-2099. A $10,000 reward was offered for help finding him.
