Brianne Luna drowns 2-year old son in bathtub

This story started off in the news yesterday when it broke saying a 2-year old had drowned.
When the cops arrived they saw there was no pool or spa at the house, then it turned into a crime scene.

A 22-year-old Norco mother was jailed on suspicion of homicide last night after her 2-year-old son drowned in a bathtub, according to Riverside County sheriff's officials.

Brianne Luna was arrested after fire crews and a hospital emergency room staff were unable to revive the boy, Sgt. Joe Borja said in a written statement.

The drowning was reported at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday along the 1200 block of Third Street.

"Luna refused to provide a statement ... as to what happened to her son," wrote Borja.

Borja provided no details on the circumstances of the death or why investigators believe the death amounted to homicide rather than an accident.

....The La Times article i just read says she called the cops at 3:45 am saying he had accidently drowned in the bathtub.
Who gives their 2 year old a bath at 3:45?

Yup, that's her. If you scroll down on the right side a bit, it'll show an update of her adding a friend or whatever, and it says Brianne Luna.

3:45 pm. And my dirt monger kids get baths in the afternoon all the time. My youngest is ALWAYS dirty. Everyone calls her pigpen. She gets bathed at random hours always.

I just read the first article and wasn't paying that much attention. Either way, I have given baths in the early am hours (my middle  wets the bed sometimes).

This story gives her time of arrest, which is 5:45 PM. I'm thinking the drowning took place at 3:45 PM, not AM. All stories say the injuries were deliberate or evidence at the scene showed it was deliberate, so they probably arrested her right away.

NORCO - A 21-year-old Norco woman was behind bars today on suspicion of murder in the bathtub drowning death of her 2-year-old son, authorities said.

Brianne Leah Luna was being held in lieu of $1 million bail at the Robert Presley jail in downtown Riverside.

Riverside County sheriff's deputies were sent to the suspect's single- story home in the 1200 block of Third Street about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Norco fire personnel were already on scene attempting to revive Kaiden Johnston, whose injuries were "deliberate in nature," said Deputy Melissa Nieburger.

The deputies contacted the toddler's mother, who "refused to provide a statement," according to Sgt. Joe Borja.

Luna was arrested at 5:45 p.m. and booked into the jail about five hours later

"It's a very sad situation," Norco resident Dave Beck told KCAL9. "This is a little horse town community where everybody knows everybody else, and it's very unfortunate for something like this to happen."

Beck said he saw Luna outside her residence as emergency personnel were removing her son, who was pronounced dead at a Corona hospital.

"She was really upset," he said.

[/quote]Yeah it is pretty common, of course that is a time you are going to watch them even more than usual (if they are sick) so it would be pretty hard for the child to accidentally drown.

I get a quick  rinse in the shower when this happens, but  a full blown bath? Anyways it looks like it happened in the afternoon. I guess everyone has different schedules anyways. Just trying to find some kind of justification for some one to murder their own defenseless child. Not that tweakers just go murder kids anyways
