What about plastic I wonder? Or fiberglass. Whatever my tub is made of. And plastic shower doors? I'm afraid it'll melt it or something.

nope, I have one of those plastic all in one insert dealies in one of my bathrooms, works like a charm. I mean I wouldnt let it soak on there but start at the top, squeeze it, run your scrubby and rinse it...voila, no yucky.

wd40 works AMAZING on stainless steel. Use it on your outdoor grill etc, to get the grime and no streaks
cleaning tips, I"m full of them.

Yes, WD40 is good on stainless steel but Sheila Shine is EVEN BETTER!  I swear!

I'm going to have to try The Works.

All i know about the works is you can make bombs with it.

    http://www.ehow.com/how_4878815_works-bomb.html

don't ask me how I know this....

In my cleaning bucket I have Pine sol, Windex, Bleach, and this cleaner called Awesome (they make tub/tile, wood, counter, oven and floor cleaner). They sell Awesome at the dollar store here- and it works REALLY good. I also use a swiffer on my floors (the antibacterial orange swiffer stuff smells SO good to me) because we have dogs and they smell like dogs we also have a deodorizer spray called Ozeum- it's an air sanitizer. Works good and leaves a lemon-fresh smell behind it. I like good smelling things.

    :2huh:

This thread makes me realise that I do not clean enough.
I clean my apartment like once every six months when I have an inspection from the real estate. :|

For the real good aroma therapy all purpose cleaner I bought Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day (cruelty free, biodegradable) I enjoy the lavender.  One 32 ounce concentrated bottle has last me a year :-)  I bought it purely for the smell and was very happy to find it works great3♥

I have three frickin vacuums.  I loooooove my carpet shampooer though, it's a Kenmore and it's been a dream to have!

i am removing all carpet in new house, i use it on hard floor because the suction is so awesome it doesn't blow the dust or fur, it sucks it up and so much faster and gets more dirt than sweeping.

i go on rampages with the shampooer.  i shampoo'd my two older boys' beds.  they were all wtf at me.   i dont use carpet cleaners though, i use everything else but that stuff.

what house stuff can i use to clean out the inside of my coffee maker?  i clean the outside and stuff but the inside where the water goes is what bugs me.  i almost thought of bleach but then again, i was thinking it might not be a good idea.

This is why I don't vacuum. Mine blows it around way more than it sucks it up.

    Not even kidding.

ETA:  I've cut down since I've had a kid, as far as using it in the bathtub and stuff.  Although my parents used it and it never killed me, even though it was awful to be the first one to take a bath after the powder cleaner treatment.

[/quote]it smells nice?  see, thats why i dont use the carpet cleaners because i like a nice 'clean laundry' type of smell, ya know what im talkin about?  thats why i use the tide with febreeze in my tanks but i kinda doubt it *really* gets the pet smell out.

my house doesnt smell like animals though.  well, the dog room smells kinda like dog but thats where they sleep though.  i use alot of scentsy stuff in the house and clean alot.  we have been thinking about putting down wood floors though.  i just like carpet for the feel.  ive cleaned alot of houses with wood floors and i love how they look, i just hated having to clean them.  and plus i worry about scratches, furniture sliding around and scratching, etc.

wood floors, yay or nay?  oh and when i cleaned wood floors, i loved using the old english wood cleanser.  smells soooo good.

I have coaster thingies under all the heavy furniture except the piano which we don't move. It doesn't scratch as easily as you might thing.

However, if I was doing it, I would consider laminate rather than wood because it's easier to care for and it looks fantabulous.

I am paranoid that my house smells of dog.

Also, can someone please tell me what the best way to clean hard floors is?  I have a cleaner that comes once a month and she does it so well and I wish I could afford her every day  Natural, good smelling stuff is good because we don’t get all the products here that you guys do

Oh my god. I am a laundry ADDICT! I am obsessed with OxiClean. I have a one year old and it removes any baby stain you can think of. Also, people keep giving me hand-me-downs, which is great, but for some reason people send some things over that are trashed. I soaked some clothes in OxiClean over night that had stains on them that were obviously really old and after I washed them they were perfect again!

I also love vacuums. I have been dying for a Dyson but I am a penny pincher!

Does anyone have a Shark Steam Mop?

    I covet the dyson animal.
I begged santa for it and his helper told me to get fucked .

I am on strike from cleaning or doing laundry and it is killing me, I am sitting outside right now just so I don't have the urge to grab a rag.

So I couldnt really call this thread the 'HOW THE FUCK DO I GET THIS STAIN OUT"  thread, so the lame one I put up will have to do.

Any cheap, home remedies that you all know for keeping your toilet sparkeling?
One that I learned froma  TV show was using a 2 liter of coke.  You pour the Coke in the toilet and let it sit for awhile and it scrubs the ever lovin hell out of it for you.  I suggest following up with bleach of course because of bacteria.

    anyone else?

the only thing you need to keep a toilet clean.....is to clean it.  simple.
