Katie Lynette Stinson, 20, of Casey, a student at Lake Land Community College studying Elementary Education, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at her home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, 200 S.E. 8th St., Casey, with Mr. Gale Towles and Mr. Jason Hosfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church, Casey. Memorial donations and contributions may be made to the Casey-Westfield Athletic Fund c/o Casey-Westfield High School, 306 E. Edgar Ave., Casey, IL 62420. CASEY, Ill. — Katie Lynette Stinson, 20, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at her home in Casey, Ill. She was born on Sept. 7, 1989, in Effingham, Ill., the daughter of Carroll Stinson and Ilene Hickox Stinson. She is survived by her parents, Carroll and Ilene Stinson of Casey; sisters, Michelle Draper and husband Troy of Noblesville, Ind., and Tanya Duniphan and husband Max of Casey; brother, Aaron Stinson and wife Jessica of Ballwin Mo.; nieces and nephews, Harley, Layden and Malia Duniphan of Casey and Jade and Kaleb Draper of Noblesville; paternal grandfather, Oscar Stinson of Fairbanks, Ind.; maternal grandparents, Rex and Rose Mary Hickox of Yale, Ill.; many uncles, aunts, cousins; and so very many friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Margaret Eileen Stinson. Katie was a student at Lake Land Community College studying elementary education. She was a 2008 graduate of Casey-Westfield High School. Katie attended the Walnut Chapel Church of Christ. Katie worked at the Casey IGA and loved interacting with all the customers that came into the store. Katie was very outgoing and loved spending time with her family and hanging out with her friends. She loved being, Aunt Katie, and enjoyed watching and playing with her nieces and nephews. Katie was a huge Casey Westfield Warrior fan, she loved sports especially softball and tennis, which she played in high school. Katie was a unique and wonderful girl, her big hugs and enthusiastic smile will truly be missed by all that knew her.
