    Joseph Alejandro "Joe" Langford (1983-2010)
    Joseph Alejandro Langford

Joseph Alejandro Langford, the youngest son of Mabel and John Langford was born July 5, 1983. Many of his friends called him Joe but most family members knew him as Alejandro reflecting
his mother's Honduran heritage. Alejandro was raised on Salt Lake's west side where his father also grew up.
While his mother was pregnant, they walked to the park to watch the July 4th fireworks. Her water broke and he was born the next day. He was a well behaved and well mannered child.
The family often went camping and fishing when he was young. One time while fishing, his dad fell asleep. Alejandro started yelling and woke his father to find Alejandro reeling in a fish. When Alejandro was five, they drove to Honduras where he got to meet many of his family members. He also spent several summers in Miami with his grandparents.
Alejandro played little league baseball for several years and because he was ambidextrous, he excelled and could throw or bat with either hand. He enjoyed fishing with his brother Mike whom he admired.
The family moved to Park City when Alejandro was 14 where he played little league football. John taught him how to drive a stick-shift at this time. He got to know the Park City bus system well but not the classroom. He was diagnosed with ADD and became attached to the wonderful people in the special education department.
He spent a lot of time snowboarding. Once, he and his friend Adam entered a pro snowboarding competition and Alejandro broke his collarbone. He worked at Park City Mountain Resort and the Canyons. Later he worked in retail sales in the Park City outlet stores where he met Kaylee with whom he had the love of his life. On January 31, 2007 his son Baylen was born. Baylen called Alejandro "Dada Joe". Kaylee played a significant positive role in Alejandro's life and Baylen will carry Alejandro's loving legacy.
In January of 2009 Alejandro's grandmother suffered a serious stroke while visiting. After a hospital stay she continued her rehabilitation at Hillside Manor where Alejandro stayed by her bedside day and night. While she slept he helped out with the other patients. He also took CNA classes following his mother's footsteps who is an RN at the VA Hospital. Alejandro aspired to travel and continue his studies.
Alejandro passed away on February 12, 2010 at the age of 26 leaving behind his 3 year old son Baylen, Alejandro's loving parents and countless relatives and friends who loved and will miss him very much. His parents wish to express their appreciation to Baylen's mother Kaylee, for her love, patience and forbearance.

This young man with so much potential battled a difficult and ultimately overpowering disease. We had every hope he would have conquered it and go on to live a long and productive life. We love you Alejandro.

John and Mabel Langford, and all his family and friends
