I think even if you discovered Lady Gaga DID have a dick, you're so determined that you wouldn't  back down from your position. I mean, you think Zooey Deschanel looks like every girl in NY? Well, Gaga really DID look like every below average jewish girl I knew in college.
I don't think Zooey looks like every girl here. We have pretty girls here you know. :-D
I think she looks average. And I wouldn't notice if someone that looked like her walked by me. Hell, I wouldn't notice if she actually walked by me. She's just not a head turner IMO, so it's hilarious to me when women that are more attractive (you, Ang) say you wanna look like her. To me it's like you wanna downgrade.

And if those "below average Jewish" girls got makeovers, then you can pass my number on. If they got dat ass.

i dont understand the problem with gaga.  i mean, so what if she looked different before, had a different style?  is anyone ever the same as they once were?  i mean, i dont wear the kind of stuff i wore 10 years ago.  my style has evolved since then.

why was it ok for madonna to do that kind of stuff?  and just because she did it, that means that no one else can do their own thing, either?
Dude! I'm thinking the exact same thing. I don't get the Gaga hate.

because madonna was established before she did all that. Gaga is literally hiding behind her style. Shes supposed to be a singer, shes more known for her ridic costumes. The point I'm trying to make is that she can't make it without a gimmick because shes mediocre.

Neener did you change your style from wearin Mudd jeans to birds nests on your face?

Madonna's an asshole IMO, so anything she does is wack.  I like Gaga though.

madonna wasnt established before she pulled all of her stunts.   thats how she became established.  madonna hid behind her style, totally.  she is not a great singer, not by a longshot.

and yes, i'm actually wearing a birds nest on my face right now.  and the bird in it just pooped.  i am displeased.  :x

Not really, she dressed like every other 80's pop/punk kid at the time. Even Cindy Lauper dressed more outrageous than she did. Her style didn't really get controversial till she did the cone titties.

Oh yeah, it's a good thing that was in England because I actually wore a really similar outfit this weekend. Because it's totally okay for laypeople to wander in off the street pretty much naked and be seated in an upscale restaurant.

And Madonna wore stage clothing...on stage. She was a style setter because she was wearing a combo of punk/dance kid clothing because that was the scene she grew up in, and the general public wasn't familiar with it. So people started emulating her.

As for Gaga, well, what did Gaga do but imitate the trends Madonna already established and add more 'shock value'? Madonna wasn't just a poser being noticed: she was raised in an abusive Catholic home and was attacking the traditions she came from. I don't like what Madonna became.

Actually, no, Madonna, love her or hate her, was original. She was the first of her kind.

But......"She was a style setter because she was wearing a combo of punk/dance kid clothing because that was the scene she grew up in, and the general public wasn't familiar with it."

So she was emulating folks, and then it got really big when people started emulating her.

i disagree.  cher was wearing controversial stuff way before madonna.  non-existant bob mackie dress, remember that one?    it was before the cone bra.

Not really. If I dress in a style that's similar to street kids my age it doesn't mean I'm copying them, it means I'm one of them. And I'm referring to her stage style. Madonna changed everything, she's probably one of the most influential people in musical history, whether you think she's crap or love it or whatever. There was no one like her before.

Actually most of Cher's outfits came in the later portion of the eighties after Madonna was already hugely famous. And I'd say Cher is actually much more similar to Gaga than Madonna because Cher used outrageous style to overcompensate for minimal talent.

to sum things up a bit...

Lady Gaga = gross, fake, shitty music, being hidden behind crazy designer clothing and accessories.

    The end.

I don't get the Gaga hate. She's got a great ass, interesting style (hers or not. Who gives a shit? Not me.) and her songs are catchy as shit.

Nah.  She was a preppy Catholic school girl who started dressing like a Dali painting.  She didn't roll with a bunch of people who dressed like Dali.  That's the diff bw her and Madonna.
