I watched the whole second season, never caught the first season. So I bought it on itunes and watched it yesterday. :lol:

I looked it up and most of the parallels that it mentions is regarding the mother living with the uncle, the uncle taking the dads throne etc..

But Clay isn't Jax's uncle. He was just a founding member.

Jax stands in for Prince Hamlet himself. Jax's reflective questioning of the SOA culture, brought on by the birth of his son, references Hamlet's melancholy over the death of the king. Additionally, Jax "communicates" with his dead father by way of his late father's unpublished journal/manuscript; Hamlet, of course, literally communicates with the ghost of his father.[18] The drama and characterizations are also enhanced by drawing on Macbeth, another Shakespeare tragedy. Katey Sagal's Gertrude-like Gemma resembles Lady Macbeth because—while it is never entirely clear from Hamlet how complicit Queen Gertrude is in the murder of Hamlet's father—it is obvious that Gemma has willingly participated in the cover-up of the death and may even have encouraged Clay in his treachery. Creator Sutter has said of the Shakespeare element, "I don't want to overplay that but it's there. It was Jax's father who started the club, so he's the ghost in the action. You wonder what he would have made of the way it turned out. It's not a version of Hamlet but it's definitely influenced by it."[19]

In the 9th episode of season 2, Clay makes a possible reference to Hamlet when he states "I'll handle the little prince," a reference to Jax. In the next episode, Jax is again referred to as "the prince", this time by Agent Stahl. There are also several references to Clay as King and Gemma as Queen. At one point, Opie refers the rift between Clay and Jax as Jax wanting to be King.[20]

i am a hardcore SOA fanatic.  charlie hunnam is one of my tv boyfriends.

it was originally based on the same concept of hamlet but he said he was moving in a different direction now.

jamie - WATCH SEASON 1. You see a lot more Hamlet parallels in season 1 when it was a far more integral part of the story telling.

Fuck yes. Jax is my dream dude for sure. But only in this series. I see pics outside the series clean shaven and short hair and I can't believe it's the same dude.

i loved him in undeclared but yes... him as Jax is just delicious. 

he penned a script about vlad the impaler that got picked up by brad pitt's production company, im actually excited to see if he can write, his real accent is awesome too -- did you watch him in the original queer as folk?

:lol: No joke. Actually like the show, but not this season. It kinda sucks without the original characters.

And he is too young looking judging by pics in QAF, I prefer my men all scruffy and manly. Brittish accent might up the points though. :lol:

man season 2 finale had me so amp'd. sigh must wait forever for season 3 now.  i wonder how this is going to affect his relationship with tara.  also how long til gemma finds out?  i wonder if prospect died?  i wonder how many episodes in til he gets his son, or do they plan on letting him raise his son to hate him haha -- i cant imagine that happening though that would be super interesting.

SPOILER ALERT

Prospect is dead. I read somewhere he didn't want to continue the show.

I want to know what happened to Jax's ex wife. I saw all of the second season and she hasn't been even talked about that I can remember since the finale of season 1.

I hate we have to wait till next September for season 3. FX sucks in that aspect. 2 months of a show then off until next season. Season 6 of Rescue me is coming up though and I'm excited about that.
