Similar here where it's in to the high 70s to low 80s during the day and 40s to low 50s at night.

The storm is bringing lots of tornadoes and high winds. I saw lots of posts from chow rescue people in Louisiana, SE Texas and that area talking about how bad it was last night and it's holding together and coming toward the east coast.

Welp. The end is near. We have red flag warnings for this afternoon because we've only had like 15% of the moisture we should at this point and there is a weather pattern bringing hot air up out of the desert (which desert? IDK) and they are forecasting severe thunderstorms, and maybe tornados for this afternoon. The wind is going to start blowing and then the rain (see thunderstorms) will change to snow (3-9 inches) unless something shifts or it gets cold sooner and/or the storm stalls, then it might be 36 inches. (supposedly unlikely, but...) the winds will be sustained at 35 mph with gusts of 60 or more (pray that the apparently inevitable fire goes out in the rain before the wind gets bad.

    So, yeah. Goodbye cruel world.

Crap, that doesn't sound good. Please stay safe! My friend in upstate NY lost power for several days with the recent snowstorms in their area. This is all crazy!

I love a good thunderstorm but this sounds terrifying. Batten the hatches!

Well geeze. All four seasons in one day. Sounds like MA. BE. SAFE.

Out here we keep toggling between 90 degrees and 60 and raining. Can't wait top escape the heat this summer. No more dying of heat exhaustion.

So a halftime report. The red flag warning seems to have passed without a fire. YAY
The wind did come up, and we had thunder and lightning and rain. But as near as I can tell, no hail. At least not at my house.
    No tornadoes. Double Yay
It rained and snowed off and on all night, but the ground was warm enough most of the snow melted. The attached picture is what my backyard looks like now.
The "real" snow is supposed to start soon. We await further details....

So, this is what it did for 24 hours... but it stayed warm enough that the snow basically all melted. So, YAY. If you went a little higher or colder and/or were out in open country with the wind, it was a mess, but we were lucky.

I'm glad that it wasn't as bad as they reported it would be.

Last Monday we had a complete downpour in the middle of the night that was UNREAL. Not only did it flood everything within 5 minutes, but it caused the roof of the Target in my city to collapse and flood the entire store. They're closed indefinitely. Thank fuck it didn't happen during open hours. It was insane.

L.A. can't do rain. Especially cloudburst kind of rain. The ground might as well be tile because it absorbs NONE of it. It's like instant flood.

We were west of the storm, although I did lose a tree the night before, but this is what things looked like east river yesterday.

I had forgotten that Ireland gets hurricanes. It's not that common, but does happen and living on the South West Coast means that where we are is more susceptible. It's been EONS since I've had to worry about them at all.

On the positive side, no more earthquakes, mud slides or wildfires.

ETA: Ireland gets Cyclones and Tornadoes too. Party.
