Dr. Harold Shipman

Harold Frederick "Fred" Shipman (14 January 1946 – 13 January 2004) was a British convicted serial killer and former doctor. He is one of the most prolific known serial killers in history with 218 murders being positively ascribed to him, although the real number may be twice that.

I remember seeing a show about this guy. I didn't remember there were that many murders though. Holy cow!

Oh yes. The thing is Deeply Shaded, they just don't know how many murders he actually did and they will probably never know.

He was a GP for many years and had access to those drugs for all those years, so the actual figure could be a hell of a lot higher.

He refused to answer any questions put to him by the Police throughout the whole time they interviewed him. They would show him photos of his victims and he would just look at the wall.

His wife, who it is fair to say, is depriving a village of an idiot, still thinks he is innocent:

It is believed that he killed himself so that his wife would still get her widow's pension, as he was told that because of his crimes he/she would no longer be eligible for his Doctors pension.

He was also considered a risk to other prisoners whilst incarcerated:

She also took years to claim his body after he killed himself. So, the lucky British tax payer had the privilege of keeping that scum bag on ice until she finally got round to burying him.  :x
