James Yoblonski (13) missing since 6/12/23 from Reedsburg, WI

The father of a missing 13-year-old Sauk Co. boy is offering a reward for information leading to his son?s return.

William Yoblonski posted about the reward, offering $10,000 for the return of his son, James. The reward will not be offered for just tips on his whereabouts.

James Yoblonski is described as being 5′11″ tall and weighing about 120 pounds. He has a half-inch scar on the back of his neck. He was last seen wearing red shoes, blue jeans, a shirt and a baseball cap.

James Yoblonski was reported missing on June 12 after his father told the Sauk County Sheriff?s Office that he had taken the family?s vehicle, which was later found along the highway near the Baraboo Bluffs. His cell phone was also located along the highway.

Sauk County Sheriff Chip Meister said the family also informed deputies a handgun was missing from the home, adding it was not known if the boy has the gun.

It is. I saw the story when he first went missing and thought he'd be the typical teenaged runaway, but the gun missing makes me think it is much more than that.

This hurts my heart, James looks just like my grandson, same age. I hope they find him soon, but I don't have a good feeling about this one.

Here's a story about his interest in being a survivalist. I truly hope that is still the case.

Sauk County Lieutenant Steven Schram told ABC affiliate WKOW Yoblonski had expressed interest in being a survivalist.

"Without being able to add context to it, it's difficult to do anything besides make assumptions," he told the outlet. "The only person at this point that could truly tell us without any shred of doubt would be James."

"By no means are we giving up the search for James, we're just trying to get as much information as possible and tracking down every single piece of information that comes in to prove whether it's relevant," Schram explained. "We can't rule anything out until we can absolutely rule it out.

Here is a timeline from the story I shared directly above.

June 12: The Yoblonski family reported James missing. Authorities found the family car on the side of U.S. Highway 12, near Devil's Lake State Park. Later, the family also reported a handgun in the home was gone.

June 17: Local law enforcement found several makeshift campsites and some clothing believed to belong to Yoblonski, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. It was then officials believed Yoblonski is trying to live off the grid as a survivalist. The outlet also reported that two officers had been sent to the hospital for injuries resulting from trying to navigate the Baraboo Bluffs while looking for Yoblonski.

June 25: Bill Yoblonski, the father of James Yoblonski, organized a search effort via Facebook.

June 26: Sauk County Sherriff Chip Meister reported police were focusing energy on patrol searches, rather than ground searches.

July 7: The Sherriff's office released an update that the investigation is still "active" and they are still investigating areas of interest near where Yoblonski went missing.

I'm still holding onto hope that he's out there somewhere playing survivalist.

Yeah, me too. Although the fact that he took the gun with him is very concerning. Although, it could have been for protection from Bears etc. The fact that he had makeshift camps around is a good sign though.

    James still hasn't been found.

Each day becomes more and more painful for a Sauk County father whose son remains missing after 6 months.

"I marked the calendar since the day he left," Bill Yoblonski, James' father, told News 3 Now on Tuesday. "Every day is harder and harder."

"I mean, there's no sightings, no, nothing," Bill Yoblonski said.

Despite the length of time since he's last seen his son, this father believes he's still out there.

"I feel in my heart that he's still alive. Yes. I really do. And he's a tough kid. I know. I know he could do it," Yoblonski said. "If he had to do it. He could do it."
