Have any of the Australian users here watched that science fiction series called cleverman? It's on Netflix right now here in the us and I turned it on. It's ok I guess and obviously draws parallels to the problem with racism you guys have going on. I have read that it is revolutionary in that it has a predominantly aboriginal cast, but also that it otherizes aboriginals in its message by making the race of beings being discriminated against as nonhuman. Anyway, it's just another scifi series but I don't know enough about the situation it is speaking of to draw any conclusions about the effectiveness of its message or whether the portrayal of aboriginals as community members or the similarities of 'hairies' and aboriginals is accurate.

Just started this. An American girl, sent to the English countryside to stay with relatives, finds love and purpose while fighting for her survival as war envelops the world around her.

You chicks will dig this movie, yuck. A young girl contracts what she thinks is a sexually-transmitted disease - but is actually something much worse.

Wow that movie started out really good but got dumb about 20 minutes in. The only cool thing about it is it almost seems like this is how the virus got started in 28 Days Later.

I've finished Narcos, so that's a good one if you haven't seen it.

A few people have recommended "Shameless". Haven't watched it, yet. I just got into netflix, only for "Making a Murderer" and "Narcos". Haven't seen anything else, but interested in Mad Men and The West Wing.

This movies hilarious. Kylie Bucknell is forced to return to the house she grew up in when the court places her on home detention. Her punishment is made all the more unbearable by the fact she has to live there with her mother Miriam - a well-intentioned blabbermouth who's convinced that the house is haunted. Kylie dismisses Miriam's superstitions as nothing more than a distraction from a life occupied by boiled vegetables & small-town gossip. However, when she too becomes privy to unsettling whispers & strange bumps in the night, she begins to wonder whether she's inherited her overactive imagination, or if the house is in fact possessed by a hostile spirit who's less than happy about the new living arrangement. I watched this a few months ago and enjoyed it. I love horror films but this film is a bit different to anything I'd really seen before. It's definitely worth a watch.

I started watching this Australian series called glitch, and within one minute I was asking myself why the dead people in the cemetery are naked. Don't Australians bury their dead people in clothes? Anyways, my guess is sits another les revenantes/the returned.

I've just watched the first episode of this. It is very much like les revenantes/the returned. It's been okay so far.

I've got one more episode of this to watch. I've really enjoyed it. I think it's quite an interesting show. I was wondering about the clothes too. There's something weird though cos the new preggo wife asks the dead wife why, if she crawled out of her grave, she has hair as she'd had breast cancer and was bald when she died. This made me think of your question about the clothes.

I was also confused by the logistics. The graves only had small holes they had climbed out of. How would you open the lid of your coffin and get out and leave only a small hole behind?
